I would recommend a delete on the secondary Cat, it will sound awesome.. the secondary cat is not regulated by the o2 sensor.
Pinned!
I notice when people delete the secondary cat they seem to smoke. Is that something that goes away?
@@michaelhorstman2603 They wont smoke if you drive them hard enough to clean out the EGR
Don't just cut stock mufflers bend pipes and put straight it sounds perfect
Is this smog legal? I’m in California and I’m always told that I’m in the worst state
As a proud new owner of a 2008 c300 sport, I consider this channel now the law for everything I need. I don't ever typically leave comments, but you are literally the goat. Keep connecting the MB community and grinding for us. Thank you.
God damn THAT comment deserves the gold 🏅!! Stay tuned exciting stuff to come!
Appreciate the review. I first tested mine without mufflers solely and after two weeks I went back to stock due to raspiness around 2500 rpm (added quad tips then) I was for sure going to go X-Pipe next, but I may reassess due to your honest review.
Great Video ! Raymond keep bringing the great content...The cold start sounds wonderful btw it's good to see the BMW
+Mari Stith Thanks man!
Raymond Urias Any time 👌🏽
I did the same resonator delete and xpipe install on my GLK350 (same engine) I was also a little disappointed with outcome. cold start does sound nice, at first i could hardly tell a difference but after a month or two it seems that it has become a little louder and more noticeable. I can really tell when I hear my wife take off in the morning. Our benz's are really well insulated from outside noises. I expected something louder but paired with an aftermarket intake it does sound better. good video. Btw i went to a local muffler spot, they made a custom xpipe and charged me $200 for install, I did not do stainless because I switch cars often and usually dont keep a car past 2 years.
Hello great honest review! I was wondering if you could let me know what the size of the tailpipes are ? I am thinking about doing the same thing the trouble is there are so many different sizes of tailpipes available, I want to connect to the standard mufflers like you have done, thanks mrix
Sounds awesome thinking about doing the same set up to my 2018 E400 we do not have the same exact engine but mine is also a V6 does the quad exhaust tips make it sound different/louder or the quad exhaust tips don’t make a difference?
Hi. thanks for the video...
I noticed that inside of the exhaust tip you can see that one of the pipes block the way out... can you share with me if this interfere in the behave of the engine?
I recently bought exactly the same tips And I have the same situation
I just had my rear cats taken off my 204 C63, so now its loud as hell since now it has the resonator and secondary cats removed. I can be heard over 1.5 - 2 miles away when I'm heading toward the person listening
I should have done that
Hello, I wanna do this to my car too, but i’m afraid that the exhausts might detach or something since they are not attached properly like the stock ones. Please tell me, is it safe to do it?
What about drilling a few more holes in the resonator? Will the exhaust be just a tiny bit louder without compromising the system?
You never said what model/year you are driving. I have a 2008 Mercedes CL550AMG. I’m interested to find out what my best option would be for a cool sports exhaust.
What if the secondary cat is removed? Does it make it sound better or I will have some kind of “check engine” light?
I did muffler delete and res delete. Gonna put xpipe now. Thinkin maybe put mufflers back and do cat del?
Raymond what do u think of deleting the resonator and not install an x pipe?
Good and honest review!
@Raymond urias what kind of tips should we be buying, I couldn't hear you at 6:55 ?
can you please let me know where I can buy those 308 stainless steel tips exacly and that scnd resonator does it have anythink like a sensor going tpo it wanna make sure no engine light will come up
2011 e550
Links are in description. The only sensor on the car is pre and post cats.
finally someone out up an install video
Paul Fitzpatrick I wanted to say the same thing. Everybody else just shows the finished product and I want to know how does it all work. I'm excited to do this mod
also would u strongly recommend to get H style oval tips over Y styles round tips or oval ? H n Y meanig the shape the pipe makes your actual tips are considered h style tips . im about to do this to my car just gor the looks and just wanted to be sure h is a beter fit rather then Y style. but i guess the exhaust shop will make it fot either way but itll also save them adding a piece if i use a h style and have it welded like u have
also what size inlet do your quad tips have? i noticed they flange it out but what size was it originally just so i can ballpark what size i can buy at least
love your vids mate very helpful and educating indeed keep em coming
Hey! Nice video man. I have been reading up on resonator delete for a while now. What do you recommend for a 2011 E350 Bluetec? I do not want highway droning because I do go long distance with it. Basically, I want a louder but cool sound out of it. Would appreciate a reply as soon as possible. Thanks!
I wanna try this in our GLK250 BlueTec removing the rear mufflers
Great video. I've got an 03 clk500. I want an X-pipe, add a pipe for duals and I was thinking Flow Masters and those bad ass tips. I was probably going to cut the other side but really don't want to mess it up. Can I use a rear bumper from an AMG model that already has the dual cut-outs ?
Flowmasters are chambered mufflers, it will give you more of a hollow sound, remember about it ;) If that's what you want to achieve, then feel free to do so. If you want something else, don't go for Flowmasters. When it comes to the bumper, I'm not sure if CLK55 AMG had dual cut outs, from what I remember it has still a single exhaust exit.
Do you or anyone have a recommendation of exhaust or know the diameter of the stock exhaust for a 2011 Mercedes E350 coupe with the 3.5L V6 petrol engine? Let me know.
Thanks for your honesty.
Hello Raymond, I would like to know what is the Magnaflow Xpipe entry, of 2.5 o 3 ?? And if the tips go in the same measure ??? Help thank you
2.5" xpipe
Tips 2"....I think
So I just bought a 2014 C350 coupe. So what would you recommend me doing. AMD where did you get your rear diffuser. I want it to sound mean but not raspy.
Resonator to X-Pipe and delete secondary cat's. Keep the factory exhaust
are the “second cats” just secondary resonators? will deleting them void my warranty? & will it pass inspection? i live in hawaii btw. thanks! i think your car sounds great
+kekoa gabriel This is a great question!!! The secondary cats are legitimate cats and removing any emission controler on your car will void the warranty in full. The way the secondary cats work is when you initially turn on the car the primary cats are cold and can only catch some of the exhaust, the secondary catch what the first miss till they reach operating temp. Will you pass an emissions test well that depends. If it is an OBD2 test yes you will since the O2 sensor is after the first cat. If they do the sniffer test and stick the probe in your exhaust you will fail the test if your car is starting from a cold start. This is the reason I did not remove mine.
Raymond I enjoy watching your videos as they’re very informative. Could you please in the near future do an exhaust setup as I’d want to do the same with my car? I thought of doing a muffler delete but don’t want to loose back pressure. The Xpipe option isn’t much noticeable. I guess I’m loling for something in between
+Sam Sult I do plan on revisiting my exhaust real soon. I'm just looking into some other options.
hey ray out of curiosity why does it have to be 308 stainless steel
and so u honestly dont recommemd it??
i only want the look without the sound
It does sound good from outside. I think there's just a lot of sound deadening material on a Mercedes Benz so inside the cabin, you're not hearing as much. If someone wanted more, I guess they could always install performance mufflers. I seen a video of a straight piped C350 and it was way way too loud. I personally love the way exhaust sounds in this video. I just think it's something to the effect of you'd have to roll your windows down to experience the sound a little more in the Mercedes :-)
2014 c300 luxury 3.5L any exhaust recommendations
Maybe I missed it, but what model/year is this?
I am looking to start modding my car but i do not know where to start from.. I have the quad tips down, but i do not know what cold air intake parts to get as well as if the Borla mufflers work great for European cars? and what else would i have to do
thank you
Renntech tune!!
Cold air, 2nd cat delete, highflow mufflers, coilovers
Hey bro, do you have any vid of the car on acceleration with the x pipe? Thinking about the mod but if you're not impressed, I'm thinking twice. Thnx

Go to 8:40
Lol gotta watch past the first 5mins take longer poop
I cant find these tips online that are flanged if anyone finds can they link it
Is there any difference in sound vs performance in having the x pipe on the muffler side vs further up where the resonator used to be? Yours is the first I’ve seen on the muffler side.
Closer to the headers create better scavenging.
Have a c230 2007 what should I do to itt
What’s your opinion on removing secondary cats ? I know a some people that did it and it sounds great with X-Pipe ?
Get rid of them totally worth it
Hey ramond, what engine is it? Petrol or diesel? And what volume?
I have a w212 E350 and im thinking to do the same as you did, but only replace with x-uppe and keep the original tip.
Will it sound good?? What do you think?
3 litter petrol. Definitely worth it for the cold starts!
Did you take off the mufflers attached to the tips? I believe that would’ve gave you the sound you want it
Tried straight pipe it was awful
Raymond Urias so at the end of the day what did you do, did you put back? I recently deleted the mufflers, I’m thinking of going with the X pipe tomorrow to see if they’ll sound a little more louder.
Thanks for the beautiful video bro I would like to change it the same with my Mercedes Benz ml
Hello, I am very afraid to not buy wrong size Quad Tips, so can you provide new URL ( one in description is broken ) and if not possible to drop measurements at least. Thank you.
Where’d you get the diffuser Raymond
What's the exact sound that you are looking for?
is the sound difference significant after installing the xpipe? I read somewhere that meddling with the resonator is a big nono
The only time that you notice it is during cold starts. There is absolutely nothing wrong with changing out the resonator there is no computer that is going to read that. The big No-No is the catalytic converter since most states require them for emission standards you should not touch them. Removing the cats can make the vehicle sound significantly different and much louder. But you will also throw a series of error codes
@Raynond Urias does this makes your non complaint with the law? I'm in MO state.
It will not effect emissions the cats are not being touched
This is a good example of when to leave things be and save shit loads of time and cash. In the UK they are looking at all vehicles with modified exhaust due to the ridiculous amount of noise from some of them. I live near a hill and I so it wont come a minute too soon.
Hello Raymond, should I buy quad tips for doing the same mod for my car?? Or it isn't necessary?
You don't need to buy the tips they don't change any sound whatsoever. If I could re do it I would have removed the second cat and removed the resonator and put the xpipe in
Remove rear muffler and use flowmaster ask about which stage
What size were the exhaust tips ?
If I take the mufflers off, can I always put them back on later down the line?
Yes for more money
Hi bro I need this kind of exhaust pipe for my car, please can you direct me where I can get it
Link is in the description ;)
Looks and sounds awesome. What kind of diffuser have you got on there? Brand and part number? Tnx
It was this one
www.ebay.com/itm/172136876067
But it was a limited run
It's good to see you and the C300 again bro! Are you disappointed about the sound? I thought it sounds great. Or are you disappointed because there was no hp increase? If I was to do some mod on my exhaust I would expect some hp increase.
+Vincent T. Hey man happy to see your name in the comments!
I'm disappointed because I was expecting more... I know it's mainly my fault for leaving the stock mufflers (They will be going soon). I just wanted more feedback, and a bit more power. I definitely lost some weight so that's good!
I have a 2016 GL63 I took the resonator out in the muffler I ran glass pack and then ran straight pipes anybody have a better idea let me know but the way I have it it’s a freaking monster loud
Does the exhaust tips alone make the car louder cause I must wanna put the tips alone for show
Tips are like tits on a bull they are just for show no sound change
Hey raymond can u message me where i can find these ones! Thanks
is this an m271? this sounds amazing
Hey, I see that you no longer upload W204 content, but do you have an updated link for the tips?
I don't upload anything anymore. Ebay has been a good spot to check
@@RaymondUrias thanks for all the content. Enjoyed watching this series and the foxbody. Respect your decision! 🫡
I have a 2013 W204 AMG sport c300 4 matic it sound great stock i can hear it pretty well !That in no way means i will keep them that way . Now i did have the car sent to me from germany it was at Brabus while the first owner had it so it has a Brabus stage 1 ecu tune brakes suspension that is all ! so i wonder why you could not hear yours
+OCD Detail Brabus stage 1 that's a really nice exhaust
Do you need the quad tip exhaust ends?
Nope
Is this shop in Manitoba? I noticed your blurred plate looks like a Manitoba plate. I have a 2011 C350 I'd like to get done.
Florida
I'd recommend racing mufflers or taking off the mufflers.
Pypes M-80 will make much better sounds.
I got rumble mufflers & didn’t like the sound,
cut em off, getting ax pipe added today
@@idknotsure As long as you get exhaust tips, the cops shouldn't trip.
Getting cross pipe and valvetronic exhaust on my sl500 with the valvttronic u open and close the exhuast only $600
on my cls500 i changed the factory resonator into 2 straight pipes no x pipe anymore, and lets say that its a huge improvement... it went from 0 exhaust noice into some serious v8 growl.
do you have any video with sounds after this improvement?
@@RailOS100 yeah how can i send them
@@maxowndhard whatsapp or telegram? Or you can upload to youtube
Where is this in New York
We’re to get x pip and tips or place that did your installation
Links in description 😀
How does go with your insurance? In Australia the slightest modification on any part of my 2018 C300 annuls my insurance.
Just go straight out without a muffler on either side and to your to the new tips and you still might not be satisfied with that it's still going to be maybe not as loud as you like on account of it being turbocharged and the catalytic converter being up there in the front
I’m not sure about to much about cars but I’m order to put a X pipe on do I have to remove my resonator?
Yes
I just put a regural xpipe for 29 from amazon sounds ok but kept original quad tips for now u recommend changing them so it sounds little better?
Remove 2nd cat
@@RaymondUrias thanks. My resonator was closer to the back and i had 2 cats before it is a 2012 c300. And is it normal to smell like something burning after the wielding ? Thank you again sorry for so many questions usually i keep cars stock
@@nicknick6960 should go away after 100 miles
new URL for the tips please
Amg exhausts?
Hey, so the 'h' style tips fit better than the 'y' style??
If you want it to contour the rear yes
300 bucks for an x-pipe install with new tips really isn't a bad price
That's a huge hike in the price..I paid $60 for my x pipe on my w211 e350...and got the muffler delete as well and its sounds amazing..got a lot of compliments on how it sounds..I think he should have got the mufflers deleted
$300 is too much
Did u get a check engine light from doing this?
Nope
Can you send to indonesia? (jakarta) if you can , i wanna buy X-pipe
What’s the shop called?
if anything magnaflows sound great on imports and smaller engines. Your biggest mistake was leaving stock mufflers on the car.
Delet the resonators I have the exact same car and the resonator delete makes a huge difference. If your looking for a difference in sound you get get rid of those. Of your worried about being pulled over because of sound them leave the car alone plain and simple. The resonators are there for a reason.
These muffler guys are great.. they do all my mufflers
I have a question. It doesn't have to do with an exhaust system. But I just purchased a 2010 C300. Some of the button covers are starting to wear off. Do you have a fix for that?
+Mandy Hess I would honestly try and find new buttons on eBay or a junkyard and switch them out. You could try the sticker approach but it may look cheap
I looked at the sticker approach but it looks cheap from what I've seen. I guess I'll have to order new ones.
+Mandy Hess go on eBay and buy the buttons. They aren't hard to change
They sell new button covers on eBay
will I be able to pass the insurance if I do the same thing to my car?
Yes
Are they on federal across from the car rental place?
Yup!
Tutorial on electric cut out valves
Raymond, since you ended up not liking the end results of installing this xpipe, did you ever change this out with something else?
+Bernie Cruz not yet. But I did find that i love the sound of the catback system with an Xpipe. It drops the back pressure significantly and allows for faster response of gas. The only draw back is the drone will be heard at highway speeds.
If u live in california consider the high flow cats instead of deleting them works for smog regulations on the coast every county is different with their smog regulations but mine past smog check in santa cruz county with the magnaflow catback
Go with Butterfly Mufflers, if it is compatible
+Sohayel Nafi you know exactly what I was thinking. Exhaust cutouts would definitely be the easy way to resolve this matter
does it throw up a check engine light while having it installed ?
No
Looks good!
+Ryan Moy thanks man
with the removal of the cat, would you still be able to pass emissions?
I wish! It would be awesome but unfortunately it would fail
@@RaymondUrias thank you, I was unsure but I'm glad to know that now.
I have a 2013 C300 but im looking for HP increase what should i do??????
Tune it. Check out Eurocharged.
Get an amg
Nice difuser man!
I want to do this exact mod in my 07 S550, W221. What part #’s do I need for these same tips and X pipe?
Resonator should have been left on and mufflers straight piped instead. I made the same mistake too.
i got straight pipes and left others im fine
wdym by this? Is a straightpipe w stock resonator better than x pipe without mufflers?
@@hassanhasan1297 do whatever its gonna be loud
I have a W164 ML500. We removed the mufflers and ran straight pipes. Sounds Awesome. Only was $240
Total cost ??
Imo its sounds much better than stock and price for just Xpipe install is so cheap
How did u stretch the it? (where it would be welded)?
How much would you say is a good price to install this? 150?
Anywhere from $150 -$200 is fair. I would not pay more than that
Advice, I have a c300 09 and I did just xpipe and was happy but wanted more sound. I recommend taking the second cats off which I did and I love it. No engine problems for 10k miles after setup. Tiny drone if really listen but doesn't bother my mom😂
+Bryant Trahan I'm so happy you mentioned this, it crossed my mind but I was unsure.
Raymond Urias ya I had same thoughts as you kind of and I knew removing muffler would drone and I drive on highway a lot so I decided the sec cats and sounds loud but not race car loud but enough to be recognized big time by other car enthusiast. Its pretty loud though. And like I said my car still run nice and gets slight better mileage in gas after about 10k miles
+Bryant Trahan I'm actually pretty excited to talk to my local shop and tell them the new game plan. I REALLY didn't want to remove the muffler... I hate heavy droning.
Bryant Trahan that's the best set up 2nd cat delete and x pipe. I was thinking of putting the 1792 bottle style resonators in place of 2nd cats
eigdf I would try with just a pipe in place of sec cat with xpipe replacing main resonator and if that's too loud for you then get resonator for sec cat area but it sounds amazing
