The first house on here, I will do everything in my power to build this on my land. I just fell in love with this one over all of them that I have seen. Absolute perfection to me!

No bathroom? C'mon. Without a bath or even a tiny kichenette, this isn't a house at all. It's a fancy shed.

Only for the first house. The one featured (in the title) the Popup does not. Check out A@ 1:56 where she talks abt going to the main house to when she has to pee in the middle of the night.

no bath, no kitchen, and one jumping jack on the top floor sends the whole second floor of the shed, I mean house, crashing to the ground.

I'd have gone with the first tiny house they saw, that atleast had a bathroom and a kitchen.

    • @TheMusachioedBrony

I agree. I understand the issue with wanting a separate sleeping space, but couldn't understand why they couldn't somehow erect a temporary wall or even a curtain of some sort so they could have more privacy and separation of the lifted sleep space. These guys are designers-I was disappointed that they didn't even try something in the first house. Personally, I couldn't live without a bathroom.

Great way to maximum square footage. Now design these pop ups for larger square footage on rectangular designs on trailers, goose neck trailers...then you've got a movement happening.
You'll be the first and many will follow.

I stayed in a cabin in Mexico and there were common bath and kitchen facilities -- as well as outdoor cooking facilities, since 10 months of the year it was a suitable solution. That would work for this kind of home.
When I was renting, I spent $13,600/year on rent and have nothing to show for years of throwing rent into someone else's property.
Best thing I ever did was buy a dilapidated home with a carriage house, move a rental trailer on the property and live in it until the carriage house was completely redone: re-piped, rewired, insulated, painted in and out, new roof.
I moved into it and didn't have money to do the front house. A friend's handyman son, girlfriend and little boy needed a place, so I left the trailer on the property for three months and helped him do the demolition and windows. He and his family moved in and have completed the interior. I don't charge rent, but asked that they invest $900/mo in materials and labor. He's about four months ahead on that arrangement, and has big plans for this coming summer.
Meanwhile, life is fine in the carriage house. If I were still renting the same place it would be $1600/mo. My mortgage/insurance is $875/mo fixed, I pay an extra $300 toward the principal. If I keep it up, I'll be out of my 30-year mortgage in 18 years.

Love both of his tiny homes. The pop-up is akin to what I had thought to be need in the tiny homes with loft beds, only I wanted the pop-up to only be the roof over the loft beds, to pop the roof up from the 4 feet lot, raise it up 3 feet with jacks upon arriving at the place that the tiny home would then be stationary, making it a 7 foot roof in the loft area. Where his pop-up raised up a whole extra floor/ room, I wanted the pop-up only over the loft, raising up 3 extra feet so one could stand in the loft, and do so with jacks rather than some kind of hand crank [due to weight of the roof].

I find it hard to believe t h at more effort wasn't MN ade to accommodate a family with a kitchen and bathroom. Honestly, I think someone made an error in drafting the plans They were excited about the theatre-like balcony. After the building began, they realized there was no more room to go to the right to build the kitchen and bathroom. Due to lack of expenses, everyone kept their mouths shut and decided to try to sell to an unsuspecting party; hoping they'd be so excited they would accept the pitch about not needing a kitchen or bathroom. They got taken. How much did the pop up house cost? That was too expensive not to have a kitchen and bathroom; not even a composting toilet! That couple was the guinea pig for that floor plan. The guy said more money in his pocket. No! More money in THEIR pocket!
