    I love the time and attention that you give to one plant. It's like it is the only plant in your collection.

    I have one growing on both sides of the board. It has some brown stain on it. Not sure what that is. I used rubber bands on mine. A piece broke off and I put it on the side with less growth. I stood my piece up unlike here where it lays flat. It rooted just fine. It gets daily misting. My soil has a bunch of coconut husks in it. Very little perlite. Being 2-sided I have it under a grow light. 🌿

    I just repotted mine yesterday and removed the original board and replaced it with cedar and just used rubber bands. So much easier for me than the twine incase anyone has trouble with this!

    I’m looking up propagation for this plant , I treated it like my Dubai and put it in a moss prop box but I had quite a bit of rot so I need to take smaller cuttings I believe.
    The very top part has a root I just moved to soil . So IMO Dubai is easier and I like it more but my Raph I got from Botanicaz and it was very expensive because it’s variegated.
    Even the tiny Dubais are pricey which is funny to me because they grow like weeds in a prop box tfs I’ll try smaller pieces and perlite is great for props ❤

      I agree I had some that rooted and some didn't. But it does seem like the smaller cuttings, one node did better for me

    Hey. Thank you for your video. Do you have to use a cedar plank?

    • @tropicalplantmomma
      @tropicalplantmomma  Год назад

      No you can use anything you want. I think a moss pole would work better

    Hello reaching out for advice because my shingle plant out grew the board so I went to replace it during the process on putting the new board in the pot my dog hit the board with his tail it severed two six inch nodes I put rooting hormone on the ends and placed in soil im praying it will be ok because it's one of my favorite plants!

    I have added a second board to my Shingle Vine, I still have the second vine on the backside of the board and need to separate them. They are so fascinaiting to watch grow. I'm like you though I just don't have the room right now to add to the board.

      No they are in my plant room. I keep my humidity in there between 60 and 65 %

    Moss helps to nourish the plant, not just encourage it to stick 😀

    • @tropicalplantmomma
      @tropicalplantmomma  Год назад +2

      As far as I know spagg moss has no nutrient value alone unless you are fertilizing it for the plant to absorb . Which I do for any medium I'm using to grow plants in or on . You have to fertilize moss to have any nutritional value for plants

    Thank you for doing this. Mine has 2 plants, one on each side of the board, so I don’t feel like it gets enough light. I’m going to try this. I already have some propagating. Is your board rough cedar? I think I must not have tied it tight enough because mine isn’t attaching to the board. I wonder how it would do I’m a self-watering pot?

      Hi... Mine isn't super rough wood. yours may need to be tied on a little tighter until it attaches. good luck this can be a tricky plant...lol mine is doing well how i have the boards and its now growing up the wall...lol..ughh
