I rode a few hundred kms from Mount Buller to Melbourne City on one recently. The handling was incredible. At no point did I feel like I was on a purpose built adventure bike but more of an amazing hybrid. The consideration in design at this price point is unmatched with the adjustable seat height, TFT screen & ride-by-wire riding modes where you can select Eco mode & replicate the original Himi 411 mapping.....it is just an all round great bike and in my mind the best new bike release from RE since the Continental GT 535 in 2014.
Hey Jimi, I reckon you are spot on. We will touch more on the on road abilities of this bike in our full review, but agree, great allrounder, possibly the best new bike in a while….although, that Shotgun is pretty special.
I wouldn't hold my breath. I wouldn't be surprised if 411 platform stayed in SCRAM form for all those people who still like and need adventure bike in it's old incarnation.
The Scram will be launching with the 650 twin engine along with the Classic. The next bike with the 450 engine will be a Hunter replacement called the Guerilla 450.
