After reading dozens of MM comics, I really want a stand alone movie. I think with the right filmmaker it could be a science fiction/superhero monster of a film.
So what you’re telling me after Zod, Doomsday and Steppenwolf attacked, he thought now it was a good time for him to be like “Oh wait I’m an alien with superpowers, I can definitely help.”
I mean he was impersonating a general.....kind of hard to get away and do hero like stuff when you’re in charge of the Army while all this alien chaos is happening hence his minor reveal after talking to Lois.
The soul of the justice league, Superman’s brother & a fellow detective Batman respects. He’s kind to everyone including even the villains, he tries to redeem them often if he can sense a little bit of good in them. His two weaknesses, Chocos & fear of fire, but his greatest weakness, DC writers not letting him shine like he could.
I still remember him in the Matrix yelling at Morpheous for believing in "oracles and shit" lol. Later on in life he ends up playing a character more powerful than Neo ever was..
I think Martian Manhunter has the least haters among comic book fans as far as I know in terms of like to hate ratio. I asked many of my friends who read comics and they had the response. He's a great character.

MMH movie idea: Movie opens with an elderly scientist activating his machine, get a partial shot of a green Martian appearing, video feed scrambled and we skip a decade ahead. PI John Jones gets hired to investigate disappearances in Roswell New Mexico. He later finds that White Martians have been kidnapping certain humans with telepathic potential to absorb their grey matter (actual comic plot) to make themselves stronger. John Jones reveals himself to the audience to be the last son of Mars as he thwarts a White Martian invasion of Earth. Closing credits he meets up with Wonder Woman.
I love how similar this guy and vision are. Obviously vision is a little more powerful because he also has a mind stone, but come on. Super strength, flight, shape shifting(yes vision can do this) cool capes, and mind powers. Obviously different but still present.

He already has multiple times ? He’s defeated the whole league multiple times as both Manhunter and Fernus He also absolutely dominated Ultraman from Earth 2 who is equal to Superman. The truth is, DC know they can’t show him as powerful as he actually is because he’s way too OP and really would render most heroes useless and would overshadow superman.

To me, _this_ origin will always be the canon, and not just because Martian Manhunter is and always has been my absolute FAVORITE DC hero; but his original story was way more compelling and made him a more sympathetic character.

Unfortunately, there was a live action TV film, Justice League of America, in 1997 which featured Martian Manhunter. Even though he was portrayed by excellent ctor, David Ogden Stiers (R.I.P.), the TV movie was a cheesy attempt.
