      @@CreddiamMaybe a browser specific thing blocking Tiny links - but the links themselves are fine.

      Yeah, somebody else has mentioned that .. learn something all the time! Groups still useful though if for no other reason than organising stuff!

    Think I'm gonna enjoy your videos, not too technical with clear explanations. Thanks for the tip on grouping objects, so they can be hidden all together, been doing the single clicking of everything so far!

      Good to have you around - I'm hopefully going to pump the early ones of this series out pretty quick and then start to get to the juicy stuff.

      For characters (or any object that's got some hierarchy associated with it) you can also CTRL + Click on the eye icon and it will hide everything attached to it below the item selected...hair, clothing, body parts etc...same to bring it back (ctrl+click etc)

      @@vallejomach6721 That's a good shout - we learn something everyday - I didn't know that so thanks for contributing it.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial series, Rauko! I've been struggling to get started with Daz for a while now, but watching this series from the start has provided solutions to most of the issues I've been having with Daz! Great stuff!

    Really enjoying the beginners series even though I am not a newbie.... but always learning something! Thanks Rauko

      Yeah, for most people hanging around here you'll mostly all be beyond these - but there's always little things here and there that will fall into the "i never knew that" category ..

      I'll be covering as much as I can in these vids - I'm sure that will cross up at some point!

    Very useful tutorial. Group is similar to Collection in Blender and the Group could be renamed as required. I added a character and the lighting was good. When I added a New Spotlight and hide it (close its eye ) the character became black, that didn't happen with you when you hide the Spotlight at 18:05. Can you explain what is wrong with me? Thanks

    • @RaukoDaz3D
      @RaukoDaz3D  Год назад +1

      Nothing wrong. The spotlight - and I'm guessing you mean at 8:48 when I turned off the spotlight as 18:05 is the end of the video.. I was still in Texture Shaded view and so the light from the Spotlight wasn't being rendered .. So what's happening at your end, I'm not sure. I'll have guess, though, if you go to the menu and WINDOW > PREVIEW LIGHTS .. make sure it's not selected (so the bulb is NOT yellow) .. in Texture Shaded (the default view) if "Preview Lights" are set then you'll get some "lighting" in Texture Shaded mode as it tries to preview the lights. Always want Preview Lights turned off.
      If it's not that .. then .. I don't know .. I'd have to see a before and after screenshot to see if I can work out what's happening.

      @@RaukoDaz3D You are right at 8:48 ( me hasty) and I am still in Texture Shaded (walking beside you). I disabled Preview Lights and everything went fine. Thanks so much for your help and response to the comments.
