Just made this for dinner Hands down BEST PLANT BASED TACOS I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! My tofu wasn’t as dry so I crumbled it and baked instead of shredded. It resembled ground “beef” My husband and I prefer more spice in the salsa verde sauce so I added a green chili pepper and some red chilli powder. Fixed up a simple pico (chopped tomatoes and cilantro) to go inside the taco. Thank you so much for this fantastic recipe!

as someone from seasia who eat tofu like five times a week, you all should try to marinate it with mixture of blended garlic, pepper, salt, and water (basically brine). marinated them for like 5 minutes and then fried it until crispy. it's so good as snack or with steaming hot jasmine rice

I must try this without cumin. We have plenty of good chili sauces, pepper and real butter in the house so I could use those. I'm not turning into a vegetarian but I like to check what you cook so I can eat less meat in my ordinary diet and get some great tips for cooking. Thank you.
Yes, I will try it without cumin too. In Mexico we don't use cumin as much... I just went to USA for the first time and it was surprising "mexican food" had cumin. It tasted like indian food to me 😅

I made this tonight and I was blown. away. Girl you are talented! The sauce was ridiculously flavorful - I went with cilantro for mine. I didn't have paprika so I used (less) smoked paprika with a bit of garlic and onion powder to help compensate - so lovely. Popped the fillings onto some homemade gluten-free tortillas with vegan sour cream and cut grape tomatoes. So filling and so wholesome! Thanks for a new go-to recipe :)

We just made those. Wow wow wow wow. Looks like a lot to do but is very manageable with the recipe. I had some chipotle in adobo left and put that in the tofu sauce at the end. Hubby said: “best lunch ever!”(while he has nothing to complain, for sure.) Thank you!

wow, this is the first time tofu tasted quite good. I used other spices and i made the sauce a bit more like you would do a sloppy joe. Shredded tofu is cool. I will try other typical minced meat dishes this way. thank you.

Another "woah" recipe! Made this tonight. Oh emm gee, so good. I added some honey for a small hint of sweetness. I did not let it rise overnight and I had absolutely no issues with it turning out perfect. So puffy, airy, full of crevices. I think this is my new favorite of your! I will definately leave overnight in the fridge next time to ferment. I think a sourdough version would be so good!

OMG I tried this and it was delicious! I made my own sauce from toasted Mexican dried peppers and had a jar of mango chutney called kuchela, and it gave it such a nice smokey after taste that went really well with the pineapple juice, as some of the juice caramelized. Love it when I mess around and it comes out amazing.
