I absolutely agree with you. I'm glad I came across her video because I just cut off my locs and I needed to see what i can do to get them healthy again before locing them back up.
@@leloodyssey : I have some doubts whenever I watch these rice water miracles, for two reasons. most of the time, they look young, giving the impression that, the reason why hair is growing fats is because they are still in their growing stage: e.i. teens or early 20's. Second, is good genes. like so I see some Indian girls do this and automatically I'm thinking they have thick, fine, long, hair is because they're known to have those qualities, not all, but most, by default.
Rice water is protein base so if your hair is protein sensitive you should not put rice water in your hair without diluting it with water. I would suggest 40% fermented rice water- 60% water to start. After you see hair growth then 50% fermented rice water-50% water. Do 50-50 cuz your hair is familiar with the rice water (protein )after a while and can tolerate it. To see if your hair is protein sensitive part your hair into four parts. Take out a very small portion of your hair. Test the fermented rice water on that small part of your hair. Do not dilute the rice water. This is to check if your hair is protein sensitive. Do not leave it in your hair without checking on your hair. Leave in for about 5-10 mins. If your protein sensitive, your scalp will burn or feel irritated. Be carefully, some people will not experience that. Some people ‘s hair will just start of fall out. Do not just leave the rice water in your hair without checking on your hair!!. Hence, you will go bald!!. If your hair is sensitive it will fall out!!.. Remember even after you’ve wash your hair, the rice water is still attach itself to every stand of your hair. Yes, it will continue to work after you’ve wash your hair with shampoo. And protein sensitive people will continue to experience hair loss and breakage weeks after a one time improper usage. This produce is extremely potent!. But if used properly you can experience maximum results for your hair journey. With that being said. If your hair is not protein sensitive I suggest you use it twice per month has a deep conditioning treatment for maximum result. If you are protein sensitive you too can use rice water twice per month also but only diluted. I suggest you ferment the rice water for up to 2 days only if your protein sensitive. You want to go longer. That’s on you!!.. Start with 40-60 like stated above and add any conditioner. This will help to soften each hair strand even more. Also, for proper and quick hair growth, put some heat to it. Heat will open each hair follicles and allow the fermented rice water (protein) to strengthen your hair and release it’s natural sebum oils, minerals, vitamins A and C ect; to grow out long, strong and healthy. If your going to use rice water daily as a refresher. Please dilute it weather your protein sensitive are not. Really you should be using it has a refresher every 3-4 days. Diluted only. This will give your hair enough time to regenerate and soak in it’s glory. If you don’t. Your hair will grow if you use the rice water daily but then you’ll experience lots of split ends and maybe root breakage in the end because you’ve now damage that long pretty hair you work so hard to get. Too much rice water will not maintain your length of your hair. Too much anything is never good. Applying protein daily to your hair will break it. Period!! Do research before applying anything to your hair. Hope this helps.
Yona B what’s the best way to keep hair moisturizer when using rice water as a refresher during the week, what’s the method do you suggest ? I put oil and leave in condition after I put rice water but my hair still feels dry
Yona B hi Yona, please clarify because I am confused about the protein part. Rice is usually less than 4% protein, to be precise my Basmati says 3%, where would the protein overload come from? I am lost on this. Please explain, does it increase once it’s fermented?
coupedindo Your probably having a protein overload or your not moisturizing your hair enough. Which ever way your hair will not last like that. First, no daily protein use like mention above. you add the fermented rice water every 3-4 days has a refresher. In the mean time you can use oils with the rice water. Make a small batch of oils. Place in a glass bottle. Your batch will consist of. Coconut oil- helps the circulation of blood flow to your scalp. It binds the protein to your hair follicles. Olive oil- makes the hair strands thick. Avocado oil- absorbs easily into your scalp and holds moisture to your hair follicles. Castor oil is the Kind, the Queen of all oils. But only black castor oil. It’s full of Omega 6, promotes hair faculties to have twins and triplets for hair growth, carries Ricinoleic acid aka( 12-Hydroxy-9 C-IS-Octadrcenoic acid!! Change yo life Oil!!. Castor oil is all of the above and then some. Also, peppermint oil- Clarifies the scalp and produce oxygen for better blood flow. Mix all together in small glass jar. Place the jar in a dark location. No sunlight. Use it every 3-4 days or when needed for four week only. After 4 weeks prepare a fresh batch. Apply to your scalp only. Massage into your scalp. If you really want your hair on crack???!! Add heat to the oils with extra castor oil either on your hair or put more in the glass jar. Make sure you put from root to tip of your hair when using heat. Baaaaaby!!!.. Use it has a deep oil conditioner 2X per month. That Castor oil and heat will have your hair having quintuplets, sextuplets to your one strand of hair. It will be one no more. Thick, strong, healthy!!! Bomb!!.. For daily use everyday use, you can use Green tea. If you can get the real one. God bless you. If not buy it from the store. Green tea has EGGG. It stimulates the Pope Pilar of your hair to increase growth. It contains glycerin which Holds moisture to your hair strand and you need to keep moisture in your hair. Boil 2 Green-tea bags. Let it seep until it cools down put it in a water spray bottle. Spray daily to your hair. Yes, you can use the green tea spray with the oils. Do the Deep condition every other week with the oils. P. S. If your hair is oily skip the oils and just use the green tea spray has a daily refresher. Make a routine out of it. Do your own research also. Let me know if there’s something I’m missing. Hope this helps.
Joyce M-Greer Yes. What I was referring to is fermented rice water. That’s why I stated to allow the rice water to ferment for up to 2 days. You can ferment the rice for 12 hours 24 hours ect. Do not go over 3 days. Fermented rice water contains amino acids, which goes to the root of your hair to strengthen it. Fermented rice water works with your hairs existing moisture. Also, there’s a substance called Pitera in fermented rice water it produces just about every minerals and vitamin to your hair. Don’t let no one tell you that fermented rice water is not a protein. It’s very potent and should be used with care especially when it come to your hair. There’s many other use for it not just hair. Do your own research and let me know if I’m missing something.
Eseose A So update: I tried it for 3 days On the first day my hair felt really soft and amazing After that it got really dry and im guessing thats due to protein overload.. I have low porosity hair so if you also have low porosity hair I suggest you just do It once a month..
I was convinced to try rice water after seeing your first video. My hair has grown like 5 inches in 8-9 months. My hair feels so much better, it’s stronger and it returned to its natural texture.
Let me tell you this rice water thing works. I cut off all my permed hair in January & then did the rice water routine GIRL my hair is GROWING so fast. I wash my hair every 2 weeks, I shampoo & condition first & then spray rice water sit under my hair steamer for 10 minutes. Then I rinse it out & put a deep conditioner in & sit under the hair steamer for 10 minutes. Rinse that out then add oils & creams & leave in conditioner for moisture & do a quick braid up. When I tell you my hair is growing my edges are finally coming back to life.
@@lashaunclaire4257 the shrinkage that occurred scared me a little. It was like an impenetrable fortress 🙈🙈. My main fear was I had gone to NO porosity hair 😂😂😂😂. But after some steaming and deep conditioning it's back to its nice soft state. I may try rice water again in the future
This is the first natural hair care video (this and the previous / initial 10 day rice water video) that I have actually appreciated. Thank you for this, there is no beating around the bush, no over complicated explanations, no BS. So straightforward and so honest. Thanks Raquel ❤️
My hair is exact like what yours looked like from the beginning, my hairline is NONEXISTENT and I want my hair to grow as luxurious and beautiful as yours so I’ll commit my lazy self to a strict schedule of using rice water every other day. Thank you for this video, I have struggled with insecurities issues for YEARS and was picked on for being “bold” because of my hairline issues (not as bad as yours but still bad) and it really lowered my self-esteem but I told myself that after I graduate high school (I’m a senior rn) that I would take a couple of months off to focus on my health (mental and physical) and I am now. I didn’t want people to see me as I see myself, disgusting, if any of these “treatments” failed but I’m going to give it a try and really work hard on it so thank you. Thanks a lot, you’ve really helped me

I realize I was supposed to pay attention to your hair, but your Personality and beauty diverts that attention. Great advice for the parts I did here. Your just Beautiful, keep being a light!!! 💕
Hi please do make a separate video on a step by step on what you do in detail on your wash day and all the products you use for deep condition , moisturizing and all of that please
Plzz do a wash day routine , love your hair ! Rice water did the same for me too , i use it fridays leave it overnight and wash Saturday or sunday . Sometimes i add aloe vera to it
I know this is a year old but, it's truly worth of watching especially as a first time hair care treatment person, am also all about my hair this year thank you for the research.... 😊😍Your gorgeous by the way🤗.
I have been skeptical about the rice water thingy but after seeing your hair in the previous video and your hair now, I believe in rice water now. I am so trying this.
I love you dude! I'm busy with my thesis now and it's showing me flames because my supervisor is the worst but just watching this video just made me feel better.
after drenching my hair in rice water and letting it sit under a plastic bag for an hour plus, I do a hot oil treatment then deep condition. it’s a part of my wash day routine.
My hair was damaged from a rinse (which because of that, I no longer put any form of dye in my hair). I also used the rice water everyday and the ends were a little dry, at first. What I did differently was to slow down on the use of it and I also moisturized daily with conditioners and oils right after. I literally slept with the rice water in my hair.
If rice water is kept for to long the abundance of nutrients can cause lots of damage I recommend to shampoo and evenly spread rice water and massage and leave it for 20 mins Then rinse thoroughly and condition😊
WOW! Your personality killed me, right from the beginning especially when you said " I greet you in the name of growth, " and also how you say "honey" is so awesome. I died honestly, you are so funny. God bless your channel and your life.
You are so beautiful and your accent is wonderful! I am just about to do my first rice water treatment and I'm so glad I found you for those great tips! Thank you! ❤

Omg your hair is beautiful!!!! I love the progress with the rice water I’m doing mines tonight you gave me more motivation to use this method on my locs I’m very excited !!! Thank you queen !!!
Hey girl.... your post has really inspired me to try out the rice water and your tips. I appreciate how transparent you've been in showing your unfiltered journey :) it's super hard to find good posts that show the real deal without filters and skipping things. Thank you for being genuine and taking the time to help us ladies out ❤❤🙏🏼
Thank you so much for your transparency. Great tips and great video! I haven't had time to take my braids down and my rice has been fermenting for 4 days😬. Looks like I need to use 1 part rice water and 3 parts water! Your hair looks great😍💜.
I’m here two years later and I think your before is the current me. I hate taking care of my hair and my hairline is a true reflection of that 🥴. I hate drinking water, I prefer energy drinks which is wrong 😑. I tried massaging castor oil for a week and didn’t see a difference and stopped. I had bought a bonnet but I lost it and didn’t care to replace it. I have all the hair products in the world to do this right but I’m lazy and feel like 4C hair is messy and I can’t sweep everytime I comb. Well I guess hair falls out because I comb once a month 🥴. I’m definitely going to use your tips because I can relate Love this ❤️.
The first thing I thought when I saw her was.. “ *Wow..she should’ve been in Black panther* “ She already naturally has the accent too, so even better!🤣😭🤦🏾♀️
Thank you for the clarity to my questions before I even asked. One was I heard you mention not to let it ferment too long.... so, yes, put in frig. Another was alternate ways to use as in as a shampoo, and as a leave in. Another was frequency. And I LOVE YOUR T IPS! This was so worth watching to the end. HOWEVER: 1 question not clear for me was after you rinse the rice and scrub to remove debris, do you dump that water and then put more water over it for the fermentation part of the process? I assume yes, but it was not stated. This was the most comprehensive rice water video of all the ones I've watched. You're beautiful, bubbly and really into your work! Thank you
"Rice water sobriety"😂😂You're a doll! Thank you for all the useful tips on what not to do. I really appreciate you coming from a "real place" perspective. GOD BLESS.
Raquel you are not just beautiful but you have finally reunited your edges with the main hair😁😁.. This is really awesome, just started mine,I can't wait to see my hair as beautiful as this..
Before I even go further into this video, coming from the video prior to this one when you started your rice water journey,, Girlll that makeup is making you glow on a whole ´nother level, you’re absolutely beautiful
Also do alot of protective hairstyles. Always put apply oils on damp hair because they for sealing moisture in so apply them on dry hair is futile. If you dont have a silk doek, rap your hair with plastic first then put the doek on it helps with retaining the moisture in your instead of it all transfer to you doek during the night. Like you said massage your scalp regularly as it increases blood circulation which helps your hair grow. And if you can get yourself some shea butter😭😭it works wonders too.
OMG, thank you for being so totally honest. I love your personality, and your honesty is soooo refreshing. I have started using rice water in my cornrowed hair, as it is due to come out soon. I want t do the rice water for at least 5 days before I take my rows out. Then I was going to continue before I hd my hair redone. I have very thin hair at the front, due to tension alopecia, i believe! You have answered several questions that i had in this one video. Thank you so much. Such a beautiful and honest soul... :-).
Hey omg you are fire i used rice water and it worked i am a guy and i had hairline thinning and a can safely say it stoped falling out thanks for the tips keep it coming🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌👍👍👍💯💯💯
I let my rice water ferment for like 72hrs. Sis, that water stank so bad. I had the nerve to pour it on my hair anyway. Bad decision. I had to wash my hair so many times. I still can smell the bad odor sometimes. Must be down in the pores or something. I put tea tree oil in it before I used it but the potion was to potent. That's my horror story with rice water. I have been using rice water for about 3 months, love it. Will continue. Your video is funny and informative.
Fun fact...it works without 'fermenting'. I let my rice sit in hot water for about 10-15 mins mins and later found out I was apparently 'doing it wrong' yet my hair was flourshing. So I still don't and have never done it any differently.
I'm so happy for you! You look beautiful! You don't need those lashes! Your so beautiful Naturally, but even more so with your eye brows! God bless you abundantly!
Ayyyyy once again, Bestie came to slay! You hair looks amazing sis! You touched on every issue I have especially the no tension, and moisturizing. Thank you Beautiful❤
Thank you for the tips. I'm using rice water & yes my hair is the same dry, brittle, I didn't moisturize it often. So thank you. You are beautiful my sista, keep up the good vibes. Be bless.

Best wishes on your thesis’ loves .x
Best wishes on your thesis!!!
after drenching my hair in rice water and letting it sit under a plastic bag for an hour plus, I do a hot oil treatment then deep condition. it’s a part of my wash day routine.
Gabre Williams do that make your hair grow longer?
Do you shampoo it after ?
My hair was damaged from a rinse (which because of that, I no longer put any form of dye in my hair). I also used the rice water everyday and the ends were a little dry, at first. What I did differently was to slow down on the use of it and I also moisturized daily with conditioners and oils right after. I literally slept with the rice water in my hair.
But some people say if you use rice water every day it will break your hair
If rice water is kept for to long the abundance of nutrients can cause lots of damage
I recommend to shampoo and evenly spread rice water and massage and leave it for 20 mins
Then rinse thoroughly and condition😊
WOW! Your personality killed me, right from the beginning especially when you said " I greet you in the name of growth, " and also how you say "honey" is so awesome. I died honestly, you are so funny. God bless your channel and your life.
your hair is exactly like mine unlike other youtubers who already have good hair I can relate to your videos

Thank you so much for your transparency. Great tips and great video! I haven't had time to take my braids down and my rice has been fermenting for 4 days😬. Looks like I need to use 1 part rice water and 3 parts water! Your hair looks great😍💜.

@@raquelmolatole you cute honey 🥰
To manage the smell, you could add orange/grapefruit/lime peels in the ric water while fermenting. It makes it smell quite good actually
I just seen someone talk about black rice! Try it please cause after I seen your hair I was sold after long contemplating about using rice water...
Omg you look GORGEOUS in this video and I am gonna make some dang rice water immediately!
Babes the hair growth! Wow.. I am definitely impressed with the rice water 👏🏽👏🏽 your hair looks amazing!
Thanks babes❤ It's definately worth it!
I’m definitely going to use your tips because I can relate
Love this ❤️.
I feel you! I hope to grow my hair longer so I will feel more motivated to take care of it 🤦🏾♀️
We need the wash day routine please🙏🏽. What a wow😀 your hair looks good

Your hair is exactly my type and my length. i'll come back with results. And oh you got a new subscriber here
Thank you for this video! Yes, what is your DIY oil mixture and your was routine!
Thank you
Woooow!! Major difference. Hair looks amazing sis! 😍😍
Nice
"Rice water sobriety"😂😂You're a doll! Thank you for all the useful tips on what not to do. I really appreciate you coming from a "real place" perspective. GOD BLESS.

This is really awesome, just started mine,I can't wait to see my hair as beautiful as this..
Definitely seeing the difference.... it's awesome thx for sharing im gonna try.... plz do a wash routine video
Thank you for the advice! will do.xx
CAN I ASK YOU CC RELAXED HAIR CAN I USE RICE WATER
Yes.
Your hair looks amazing! I'm gonna start back with my rice water treatments immediately.
Girl!!! You are GLOWING!!! 😳🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Yay!! I’m glad you’re giving us this update♥️
OMG your hair is longer and sweet looking. I love it

It is working on my son's hair so beautifully also. Hos hair has gotten so thick😍
you convinced me. I watch both videos !!!
So happy , thanks for the tips
