I went into the local Nissan dealership and bought my wife a new Murano. I saw a white Maxima SR on the show room floor and before I new it I bought both cars. I got the Maxima in Pearl white. This car is fantastic. I've had BMW's, Mercedes, Lexus, and a Toyota Avalon. My BMW was a faster car but, I was at the dealership every other month for minor problems. Its hard to compare a 36,000 car to a 100, 000 dollar car. The Maxima cost 1/3 of the cost and delivers a lot for the money. Very happy!

I haven’t had a single problem with it. Like literally nothing. I probably need to get all the recommended maintenance but thus far. I’ve been fine.

You can have the AndroidAuto software added into your Maxima at Best Buy by the Geek Squad. I’ve had a few customers have that done and it works really well.
I think the Maxima's head unit is proprietary, I'm assuming the geek squad guys have the latest software for the head unit and install it. I don't see why Nissan can't just update the head unit (like Tesla)
I have a 2018 and I am an "android guy", but I have to say Android Auto really sucks on the Maxima. The voice detection for texting is basically unusable and probably less safe than just pulling out the phone and texting the message. So, you might not be missing much. And for reference, I also have an iPhone and ended up trying that for comparison and it is just MILES better and works about 95% of the time as opposed to Android Auto working maybe 40%. Hope that makes you feel better lol.

I know I’m late to the party but I just picked up my 2017 Midnight Edition today. You’re right it’s a great car I love mine. Tons of options, power and performance to go with it. And I’m not bragging, well maybe I am, but it just looks hot inside and out.

My mother has a fully loaded 2016 Maxima Platinum Black on Black that we had since March 2016 brand new and we love it!! Awesome ride, loads of tech features on it, and an awesome sounding 300hp 3.5 V6 with a nice sounding exhaust note when you take off. We absolutely adore it and clean our cars once or twice a week and we get a lot of compliments of how nice it is. Definitely recommend leasing or buying a Maxima or any brand new Nissan.

I had a 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum from the day the car came out, had it for a year and a half and put 21,500 miles on it before trading it in. Definitely loved it and I always recommend this as a big bang for your buck no matter what trim level you go to. It's an amazing and beautiful vehicle!

Great video, I've leased Maximas since 1999 and had 3 with the last body type. Finally, we've made the commitment and bought the 2017 Platinum, also in black. I do believe this will be my last. It has everything I need, enhanced safety features, 360 degree camera, Apple Car Play and another fav feature, remote start. The body style is so bold and sexy. I love it. Enjoy.

I've got the S model got it with hella discounts brand new at about 10k less than this one came loaded stock love it I've had it over a year and a half no issues or regrets insane gas mileage for how well it performs.

How many mile were you able to put on your 2010 model. Also are your fogs lights swapped out?
My first choice was the SR, I ended up getting a platinum since I planned on changing the wheels anyways, plus I wanted a sunroof and the 360 view cameras. Best thing is: I paid SR price for a platinum.

I love this car..i bought 2017 nissan maxima with x tronic cvt and its fast fun to drive effortless overtaking power..great in corner..destroy the 2016 v6 charger and v6 challenger in straightline and in the corner race..this car is very solid..the X tronic cvt is superb always in the powerband..especially in going uphill and downhill this car smooth..powerful v6..great Job nissan!!!!

My wife and I bought a 2017 Nissan Maxima Platinum, the car is awesome, I have a friend of mine works for Nissan Corporation who gave me a Next Generation high performance chip, he downloaded, that the 300 horsepower 3.5, increase 60 more horsepower, giving it a total of 360 horsepower, not only that, I change the tires for 20in Widen the tires, You have to own One to really enjoy the car.
I know NOTHING abt cars but this Maxima is gorgeous 😍
Hi. Thanks for the review. Would you recommend that I skip the navigation option because it disables several important functions whenever the car is in motion even if a front passenger is present? Instead I'd just get a Garmin aftermarket?

Awesome! How do you guys like it so far? I got the the SR myself and love it so far. My only gripe is I wish it had a sunroof but living in the Nevada desert it's not a terrible thing to not have it.

Thanks for the info. We are just searching the web on comparison 2017 and 2018 Nissan Maxima. Time to upgrade, currently sporting 2004 Infiniti G35. Its been an outstanding car... but the boss (wife) has the new car fever. We previous owned several Maxima's starting back in 1984. In 2004 I surprised her with the change "G35 Infiniti". Great video... I'm a tech person as well.

Nice to see a black couple working the youtube hustle! After researching cars for the past few months I would suggest you guys move to an auto review type channel versus general tech. My suggestion for your next video would be an 90 day or 5000 mile update on each of your like or dislikes about the car. Explain all the tech in laymen terms instead of reading off a spec sheet. Cater to your audience and not the whole internet. What do you value in your trim over the basic model? How does the safety features help keep your kids safe? What is a CVT transmission? How's the sound system? How does Carplay differ from your last car? Does every trim have Carplay?
Once you are an expert on your own car, invest in some Gopro's and do reviews of other cars with the Maxima as your reference. All you have to do is record the test drive. How does it compare to the 2018 Accord? How's does a rear wheel drive 400hp Q50 red sport compare? Define a couple of major metrics that are important to both of you that carryover to each review. Check out "Alex on Autos" for my idea of a well rounded simple review.

The Tech Couple I like both a lot but the interior of the maxima is way better than the impalas. Between congrats on your new car it is awesome

I leased mine for year and a half....Only I had the Camel Premium Ascot Leather with Alcantara Inserts. It looks a lot better than that black and with blue stitching. Had some issues with the Good Years. Ended up upgrading to a set of michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Car handles like crazy. Really glad I did it. Have had a handful of issues, one being the media unit, Fuel Cap sensor. Had my steering wheel replaced (Alcantara was coming apart) Sometimes the cars Front and Rear Sonar System didn't function, and the Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) and Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking failed half the time. Verdict: I was one of the first in my area to have this car. Added a cold air kit, replace the almost yellow looking fog lights with LED (Looks a lot better). I no longer trust Nissan's CVT's. My wife has a 2015 Murano Platinum. She getting a Q3o once her lease is up. CVT's are a financial time bomb.
After all that I felt pretty and content good about my SR...until last month some guy in a intro level (S) passed by with 28" wheels. It looked completely ghettoed out, and ridiculous. How they were able to fit those wheels in the unmodified wheel wells, I don't know, but here in the CHI people are always crossing the line.
So Now I have a Infinity Q60s Red Sport 400 (Dynamic Sunstone Red)... enough said!

Do you plan on wrapping the little bit of chrome left? I got the same car but in the pearl white and my trunk lip is black along with my mirrors, but for some reason they feel I need chrome door handles, urgh it urks me so thats going white and my WHOLE roof black. Your car looks sharp I'm almost thinking I should have went with the silver.
I know what you mean man the chrome adds a diff color to the mix and kinda breaks it up, where I have the easy choice and don't want the extra color throwing everything off. I would be in your same boat man. Check out the stillen line, their front lip makes such a big difference.

I drive nothing but Maxima's because of the luxury and the speed of course. I have let my previous Maxima's age until I decide which model I like. I have the fully loaded 2014 with only 22,000 miles on it. Maxima will last forever as long as you keep their doctor appointments at the dealer. If the 2018 looks and performs like my 2014 I will be there early in the morning. Maxima rocks!!!!!!!!!

Why didn't you get the SL then? The SL is the trim level between the SR and the SV.
