This character, in the lore of the game, is Japanese, hence all the Asian motifs in the composition. Everything in this game is a reference to music in one way or another. Pretty cool iceberg to get into.
The series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari is a BIG rock fan and takes a lot of inspiration into the game, some characters are direct references like Axl Low = Axl Rose and he even looks like him. if you like this deffo check out songs from the other games as well, there are tones! In some of the older games the stages even look like album covers.
What kills me is that these lyric videos for the GG songs are always wrong because they're made prior to official lyrics being released, but then they never upload an updated one :(
The footage you're seeing is actual game play of the Game. It's heavily inspired by anime and rock and roll. Most of the cast have references to bands, songs and musicians. Definitely check it out.
Im so glad you did this track. Baiken is such a sick character and I only just listened to this theme on its own recently and loved how crazy it is. The triple back to back solos makes me laugh while the chanting just gets you so pumped. love the videos keep it up
Love your videos man. If you were having trouble finding the game for yourself, It’s Guilty Gear: Strive, the most recent edition of a long Guilty Gear series, and it’s available for PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, and purchasable on the Steam marketplace for gaming PCs. It recently celebrated it’s year anniversary and they’re currently working on 3 new characters to add to the game, which means more character themes to listen to. Keep up the good work!
Unfortunately, Strive is not available for Xbox. It's a great fighting game that has recently became more mainstream. Definitely check it out. It Hella edgey and metal.
@@juliogaytan20 still, Guilty Gear Strive not being available to all platforms sucks, and what’s sadder is that I got to Floor 10 without knowing it was PC and PS5 exclusive.
I’m always happy to see people enjoying guilty gear music because it really is something else Daisuke’s such a good composer. I hope you can also do some Blazblue music reactions because they rock just as hard (in fact Daisuke also worked on a good number of the songs in that game too). Most of them are purely instrumental as having a more vocal oriented OST is more of a Strive thing, but songs like Walpurgisnacht (Nine’s theme) and Gluttony Fang II (Hazama’s theme) from the Blazblue Central Fiction OST among many others are songs I guarantee you won’t regret listening to
Frankly i liked watching this just for the fact that it makes me feel sane for my spontaneous emotional reactions to the songs. All those moments where it suddenly feels like it's pulling emotions or excitment out of me as I listen seem to be happening to you as you listened, and they're the reason I can't stop listening. It's lovely to see music making people happy and seeing someone else get as absorbed in GG's songs is brilliant. Daisuke (GG game developer and composer, as I'm sure someone has likely told you) has two great quallities: the first is "I'm going to do like 4 or 5 genres/style references during this track, mostly rock/metal, and you're going to love it even if you can't keep up" and the second is having those powerful moments in every single song, the point when you get goosebumps and just /feel it/, whatever "it" is for the given song. Any song I didn't love first time around, I just forced myself to listen through *at least once* without skipping and now there's only 1 song I don't like to hear. Some songs "reach it" at the tail end of the track, some in the first chorus, but all of them are just wonderful to experience. I suppose this is a really long comment to say "yep, it's a great as you think, and even when it's not you just need to give it time to sink in. Listen to all of the tracks". I've never played as I haven't the time, but it's definitely living up to the running joke of "Daisuke is selling us an album, it even comes with a free game and story!".
I must say, you reacting to this is wonderful. By the way, this was a request by myself, not Methose. Video credit to an amazing youtuber by the name of CloudDrop. Happy you enjoyed the insanity of the Mirror. I can send you some info over Discord on Guilty Gear Strive. It's truly amazing. The story mode (NO SPOILERS) isn't play based, more like a movie. It's still brought tears to my eyes.
Surprised you can't find it, Guilty Gear Strive is all over the place. You can pick it up on Steam. But it is a fighting game and one that kind of forwent any gameplay for its story. Also, the plot is bonkers and lot of the character have a pretty broken past. Like Baiken lost her family when she was a kid (along with her eye and arm) so she spent a good part of her life bitterly hunting down those she felt where responsible. She's also from Japan. Japan no longer exists in Guilty Gear as someone blew it up in 2074. Another character was a man that beat a drug addiction through ninjitsu and went on to become president of his own island. Guilty Gear is very weird.
It was specifically Justice who blew up Japan because in the lore ki energy--which was very widespread in Japan--is supposed to be one of the only things that can hard-counter magic in-universe, and being that Justice is a Gear, THE Gear (although Sol is the titular "Guilty Gear") specifically, she saw the entirety of Japan as a threat. Due to magic being a Gear's primary source of badassery. So because of that Justice make continent say bye-bye.
@@bahamutfateburn6091 I’m pretty sure it was because whatever caused the downfall of technology started to take over ki ushered in Japan so the US used Justice to blow Japan sky high to prevent the end of the world (which also broke justices mind and caused the end of the world anyways)

Guilty Gear Strive is the game! The joke is every time they release new music, we get a free game to go with it.
