Immediately went to check and see if the 01 SE I just bought has these in it and they do, thanks VTEC Academy now I’m prepared for my camping trip next month
2001 crv,s came with these and the auto and manual transmissions came with a bigger spline on the transmission and transfer case, and the rear differential ,just some jems too throw out there
That's actually pretty cool! 1G USDM FIT's seats kinda do that but the rears don't rase up and lay back that far. It's nice when on a road trip tent camping and it's pissing rain so you watch a bunch of downloaded movies on your laptop with the cooler right outside the rear door full of beers! Haha probably the only time I've ever used the feature BUT with the rear magic seats folded into the floor and fronts shoved all the way forward, 2 people under 5.10" and memory foam mattress can sleep comfortably. It's crazy how versatile the FIT is. Now back to the K23/K20 swap! Everyone is anxiously waiting! Really want to see if you break 260 wheel with the bone stock turbo it came with... you guys will have higher compression on your side and only driving the front wheels (smaller/lighter) through a manual, that with custom DP/3" and FMIC you may get 260-275 on 91 pump! Can't wait to see! Oh and the RDX 410 cc's aren't nearly enough for that BTW IIRC you already addressed some of the fueling though with an FPR (possibly a pump too?).
Interesting, what years CRV is this for & what do we look for in the yard, from what year? Also, When's the next GE8 Kswap Fit content? I bought a GE8 for this reason & know a few others chomping at the bit just waiting for your uploads on this topic.
@@VTECAcademy right yes i have noticed that not all awd's but i havent seen it on fwd's who knows both of my first gen awds had it and my cousins fwd and coworkers dont
It came standard on the ex models and SE but not LX. Which you can tell the ex model had painted trim and side mirrors to include the SE but the LX had gray trim and black side mirrors
Passat b4 (early 1990ies) has the front seat recline and fold inline with the rear seats after you take the headrests off. With the rear seats in the reclined position it's perfect for drive-in cinemas or decent sleep a couple nights at the most. It's definitely possible to sleep comfortably in a sedan🤘
@@SweatyPotatoChip have you found a 97 or 98 ex that folds into a bed? I've only had a 99 and 01 ex. There's several RUclips videos on 97 ex with no bed option. There's no lever on the passenger seats to fold them just like the LX trims. This crv looks like an ex and lx mix. Door handles and side mirrors are black like the LX but this guy is from Honda. I'll have to find a 97 98 ex someday to check it out ruclips.net/video/DBZbJ3iErj0/видео.htmlsi=EkuQdG5vYyferfWM
Dang my reply never got added @@Asianconda . My 98 RD1 does fold to camper seats. The stitching is different from a 99-01 model, so there's no way I can be mistaken. Score!
Ex and SE models came with that option . Lx did not
Interesting how it breaks down across the trim levels.

We want to get that K23/k20 going too! We’ve got the intercooler and intake finalized. Wiring should be wrapped too. 🤙🏽
Pretty good, handy for long trips.
Exactly! It’s wild Honda didn’t promote the feature more.
Would love to see you guys try a J swap in a 2nd gen CRV if it hasn’t been done before..
We're gonna J swap the first gen first.
I’d love to see the J swap for the second gen! If it was available now I’d probably go with that instead of the A4 swap I have in the works.
@VTECAcademy do you guys have any videos of doing f20b or H22 swap in a 2000 ex civic I need help with mine
@@VTECAcademythank god i can’t wait to see it!!
Super sweet mod
Nice little life hack!
99 crv ex came with that option. I believe the 99 lx didn’t

98-02 CRV. The EX had the reclining options
@@VTECAcademy Heck yeah, thank you for the info.
What's the word on the next GE8 episode?
I just found these rear seats at the junkyard and grabbed them.
Take the center piece out or bolt it and you can turn the passenger seat around . Not sure if every crv does
😱😱that would be wild.
I don't think this was a USDM option, but was in other markets for sure!
What’s the reference of the new seats that you installed please ?
CRV EX
I see the Fit in the background! haha
We gotta get that thing running! It'd be cool to run it against the Fastbrakes L15B7 turbo first gen Fit.
I believe the awd crvs came with those seats
This one didn’t and it is AWD.

EX and SE folds into "beds" only 99 to 01
That's not entirely correct. All EX models came with this option.

This could have been a huge selling point for the CR-V if more people knew about it.
So there is a chance my 2001 CRV has had this in it the whole time?
Yup, check it!

Sitting for another week b

Dont think this has anything to do with the element all you did was put ex seats in the dx crv lol
