Man that was a great hunt, would pay for that every time! Admittedly I’m in the group of guys that are hesitant with booking an outfitter, due to past bad experiences. Booking with you though is definitely a bucket list item for me. Keep telling the group of guys I hunt with we need to schedule something. At the very least I’ll bring my son up with me, he’d love it! Keep grinding man, the content is great.

I’ve hunted with a Canadian outfitter for nearly 15 years in a row; usually 4-5 day trips with 2 shoots a day except the last day which is morning only. The one certainty in hunting is that migration timing and weather are difficult to predict. We’ve had many shoots where you get limits of everything and few where you don’t fire a cap. Most are good (particularly when compared to the action you’d get in your home marshes), but some are tougher. The shoot you showed- duck limits for all, was terrific.

Thanks for taking the time to write a comment! There’s no doubt that timing and weather is hard to predict. I’m glad this hunt is something people can understand. Hard to show the good bad and ugly on here but I think that it needs to be shown. Appropriate you watching Dave!

It’s called hunting not killing. I get people charge big money to run an outfitter. It’s more to it than just killing though. The experience of lodging, diff area etc. Plenty of ducks to make a great hunt. Biggest thing I see outfitters struggle with is when people can’t hit their targets. Then they blame the outfitter they went to instead of practicing their shots.
End of the day Cole you have nothing to hang your head with! You did a great job and continue to make it fun for everyone going with you

Listen man, that was a great hunt. It isn’t about big wads it’s about good shootin and good buddies. In your business you’re dealing with a wild animal, you can have the location and the birds but at the end of the day it can change just that fast. You did your job and shot the limits, if you’re clients can’t be happy with that then that’s on them.

That was a great hunt! any time I can get a limit is a fantastic hunt. I like the fact that it took a little longer to limit out and take more careful shots. Definitely better than going to work. Can't tell you how many fishing trips i have paid for and never got a bite. You are just spoiled with those crazy huge flights and when it takes a little longer to limit it does'nt seem like a great hunt. This was I a great hunt. You are doing a great job Cole.. Would like to see some of the shots in slow motion. Thanks for your hard work.

Us guides are not GOD. They traveled a long ways to pull the trigger and they did. Too many people expect to be limited out in 30 min thanks to the internet lol. The ones that actually go through a bad hunting experience don't even put out the outfitters side of the story. Most of the time i've seen outfitters throw the people that have a bad hunt a deal or something but, nothing can be free unfortunately. We spend time away from our families and spend our own money for this so it is going to cost. You did everything right Cole. Glad I got to meet you at the Pacific call booth in Texas at the DUX EXPO. You are a pretty cool dude!

What a great shoot - I'd be totally stoked to experience hunts like that! I've been to Canada numerous times - had times where I couldn't load my gun fast enough because of nonstop birds, and had times where I never fired a shot. Far too often, I fear, we as hunters look upon a hunt based off the number of birds/animals killed and that's how we measure success. Heck, sitting in a wheat field in Canada is FAR better than working - no matter the number of shots fired/birds killed!
    Great stuff, as always!

    Cole,
Incredible footy per usual!! Makes these nights on the oil rig go by a lot faster!
From Texas been hunting the coast my entire life. I know the coast from Beaumont down to Mustang Island down in Corpus like the back of my hand. Having ran with my own outfit I can attest to feeling the exact same pain.
I can’t tell you how many teal seasons have gone by where people see the week before season footage & the rice rockets look like mosquitoes in the rice & on the flats, Come into town a week later they’ve been shot at & some weather hits & its good to get 15-20 birds to decoy.
It’s not called Killing it’s HUNTING
I work as a Safety Supervisor in the oilfield on coil tubings & fracs in the off-season. Like I said before, The footy is breathtaking as always. I think this is a killer hunt. Singles, doubles, three pack days are some of the most fun shoots to me personally.
My September is plum full, but I’d love to talk with ya & get up there. Never been & even too me this hunt looks incredible.
These vids keep me sane 😂😂
Night shifts are tough when it’s still 85 at night.
Great Great Stuff, keep the vids comin!!

I’ve just started watching your videos about a week ago and I can’t get enough. Sometimes, IMO, you guys work so hard and when something like this happens, it bums you out. I could tell by your demeanor you were deflated. Time is $ and when it’s your job, the more time the less $. Basically, piece rate pay. 8 clients @ $200/client $1600 divided by 4 and it took 5 hours to limit, you made $80/hr. ALL HYPOTHETICAL NUMBERS. The correct clients feel worse for you than them, heck they’re on vacay!! We’re good with whatever we get thrown, it’s on us to execute the morning!! YOU ABSOLUTELY KILL IT EVERY TIME!!! ❤

$200 per hunt per person? don't see that price on website. #3300 USD for 3 day trip so that's 3300x8 = $26400 minus guide fees, food, cooks, power, housekeeping, scouting, etc., TONS of work for outfitters but they do fine financially - It's a grind for them but you pay and in Canada the results are normally very positive.

What time of year is this? seemed pretty early as ducks were kinda brown, plenty of options and food around make it tougher. Still shot the limits and trickling in give enough action where its fun. That being said, you pay top dollar for the big wads right in your face. If they got that on any of the 5 hunts, then the other 4 being like this is still worth it. If all 5 were like that with no big wads, I could see where it might be a bit disappointing, but still better than almost ANY do it yourself hunt anyone could do. Great job Cole!!

Man we had 2 hunts out of 5 last year on our Arkansas trip where we only killed 1 bird. Not the guides fault. The birds just aren’t there when we were. But man it was the absolute best trip I’ve ever taken. We knew our guide tried to put us on birds and worked hard for us. We were grouped with some snobs that whined the whole time. But they obviously weren’t there for the right reasons. Keep on slaying man. Look forward to hunting with y’all one day

I believe this was a great hunt and if there was 6 man limits for 5 hunts that’s better than most places around my home in the northeastern portion of the U.S ! I have had countless hours just figuring out my neck of the woods let alone you guys up in Alberta figuring out big plots of land and feeds ! We get most ducks on small bodies of water and rivers but occasionally there are some field opportunities just gotta get in on the right spot. Always cool to learn and watch you put these hunts together it takes special people to make special things happen great video !

I can hunt freelance and if I have a terrible hunt, my attitude is “oh well, get them tomorrow maybe”
If I payed an outfitter and didn’t shoot my limit I’d be PISSED off. I can have a terrible hunt by myself and save $1000/day. If guides only charged if we hit limits then I would rethink my attitude maybe? Hunting birds that I did all the scouting for, got the permission, and then set up decoys and got a limit is very satisfying. Paying a 22 y/o to do all the hard work for me makes it feel cheap. But that’s just me.

Also as a guide, you have to be able to put next weeks clients on birds as well, everyone wants that same experience, rotating fields is to be expected….

I myself and a few in our group still had a grand time. Company was great awesome fellowship great food. We have built a friend ship and life long friends with the owners and guides. Don’t get me wrong, you’d have the regular Joe who has never really seen what the migration looks like stoked and thrilled, but anyone who has actually experienced a dozen 1000 bird spins at 20 yards 12 times a hunt would probably be happy to bag the limits but knows they aren’t getting the experience. Big wads are great and all, but I don’t think it gets any better than pairs or small groups doing it right all day.

I went to Canada for the first time last October and the outfitter was apologizing for us only killing 103 birds in 5 hunts. I was like buddy I hunt Mississippi public where you fight for holes work your ass off to get to hole just to maybe shoot a wood duck and gadwall. I said buddy you have nothing to apologize for. This has been my best hunting ever.

Are those big wads fun to shoot? Sure. But if you're still on birds and shooting limits, what's the difference? Now, if you go and have 5 hunts where nobody shoots a limit, I could understand but this isn't the case. Also, I can understand them wanting to shoot 1s and 2s, but I feel like Canada hunting is different. In Nebraska, if you get 3-4 coming in and a decent group behind them, might as well take the 3-4 because that bigger group rarely does what you want it to... Late season birds are tough to hunt. In Canada, you might as well hold out for that large group because they'll probably dump in. Overall, most of us see the work you put in and I got nothing but respect!

Of course they’re from my state… They won’t see that many birds for the rest of the season and they’re complaining?!? The only time I’m ever mad at a guide is when you can clearly tell they’ve got zero clue what’s going on or haven’t put in any effort. Been burned by 3 different guys in AR/MO and had 1 successful guided trip at Flatland Flyways that was world class. That’s why I strictly freelance now. Shit is way to expensive to be looking into the sun and the wind at the local gar hole

Definitely would be happy with that hunt. Trust me I have had plenty of hunts in Arkansas were they would drop us off and we would setup and just before shooting time another group shows up saying they just leased the area. Had that happen three times in two years.

Absolutely I’d be happy it’s is called hunting not killing sometimes it just don’t work out. I guide pheasant hunters in South Dakota 97% are wild birds I guarantee plenty shooting and a good time and memories the limit is up to the shooters
