I'd say it's the same kind of season so far up in this part of MN as well, just not enough weather to push the big ducks down yet. Hope it picks up for y'all down there soon!
Finally someone that know how to train a dog that’s a good dog bro great job I’ve seen so many waterfowl hunters w terrible trained dogs that just wine the hole time
Thanks Wesley! I brought Rue back to MN with me so I'm sure I'll be hunting with her again soon. Just had to mix things up and get Bonnie some retrieves! How are things looking in AR for this season?
@@HokeOutdoors Northwest and South had a good teal season as always. Northeastern/Central was in my opinion less then ok because of feed and water. If you are coming to hunt go northeastern late or central timber when weather, water and migration meet. Can’t not beat the latter when it’s right but northereastern/southern later will have better numbers.
His issue with his shooting is his follow up shots are too soon. He’s not acquiring the new sight picture with his trigger pull. He’s simply just letting them rip off. (8 years firearms training)
They are the best eating bird in my opinion! We do stuffed crane breasts and turn the legs into tacos with the slow cooker, was pretty bummed we missed them on this hunt. Much appreciated about Bonnie! She's Cory Loeffler's dog, but I get the pleasure of running her sometimes since I work for him, all the credit on her training should go to him and Tim Springer from Dynamic Retrievers!
is this a northern refuge? looks familiar and i hunt up in the areas within like 50 miles of grand rapids. i feel like i’ve seen this around. or is this southern
I think I'm all out of them but when I get back to VA I'll double check just to make sure. Been tossing the idea around of doing some new hats but just haven't had the time with how busy we've been around the call shop up here
Glad to see people didnt forget about MN duck hunting! Great state
No doubt! How has your season been up here so far this year?
@HokeOutdoors Honestly kind of below average. I live on the MN-WI border so I hunt both stated. I find better luck in WI personally, though.

@HokeOutdoors Yeah shot a few mallards today. One woodie as well. My r870 clicked and didn't fire a rare duck for my area. Wigeon
Looking forward to some more cast and blast or jump shooting from your kayak. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Maurice! Hoping to be back out in the kayak soon!
Awesome hunt! I was looking forward to this one! Minnesota duck hunting doesn’t get enough love on RUclips compared to other states!
Thanks much! I definitely agree that it can be overlooked sometimes, but when you have ND and SD as your neighbors it's easy to forget about MN
Loved watching the dog work.Bonnie is a great dog
Thanks Jaden! She’s a fun one to spend the morning hunting with!

Minnesota and shooting at cranes. HA. I know where you’re at. Good video
Haha thanks David! You never know, we could just be outlaws!
If you ever find your way to the Dallas, Tx area you’re welcome to join me on a hunt.
I appreciate it, I'll take you up on that if I get the chance! Hoping to be back down in Texas at some point this January
You ever come to south Texas you are more than welcome to join us in a hunt.
I’ll take you up on that if I’m able to make it down there this season! Seeing much of a migration down in that neck of he woods quite yet?
Cool hunt! 👍🦆
Thanks brother!

Nice hunt Thomas!
Thanks Wayne!
Personally I've never hunted crane, I usually let them fly on by. Are they good to eat?
Also, mad props to Bonnie's training. Seeing her stay steady when you left, and Luke being able to release her was awesome!

Thomas, do you have any VOU hats left by chance for sale? TIA 🍻

What kind of kayak is that
Not sure of the model but it’s made by Backwater Boats
Hey Im in Minnesota aswell what Marsh is this?
how far should u lead a duck in 20-30 yards I struggle alot
Depends on how fast they're flying
Are you using steel ammo?
Yeah, typically 3 inch #2 shot
Ever thought about Alabama public land?
Yeah I'd like to try out some hunting down there!
😂 poor dude whiffed 3 shots then you go 2 for 2 on the same ducks he missed
Haha I just couldn't let them out of the decoys when they decoyed so nice! He definitely made up for it on that teal triples though
