Reasons "Noah's Ark" was not possible
    1) All plant-life/vegetation would die after being submerged for a year (in salty water no less)
    2) Most sea life would die due to drop in salinity of approximately 85%
    3) "Ark" would/could not be structurally sound, especially for a year.
    4) Could not have collected "off continent" animals.
    5) Most all, if not all insects (a vital part of food chain) would die.
    6) According to the bible there is "no evolution". There couldn't be more than "7,000 kinds" of animals on earth now (there are many millions)
    7) They could not have had enough food to last the years or decades it would take to grow food in the now salty soil.
    8) 2, or even 7, is not enough animals to support genetic diversity for the species to survive. Same with humans with only 8.
    9) 8 people could not water, feed and remove waste for likely 10,000+ animals daily.
    10) The stench and fumes from the animal waste would be overwhelming and eventually toxic.
    11) No way to acquire speciality diets, such as eucalyptus leaves for koala bears
    12) No olive tree left alive for a leaf to be plucked from. Also, the tall mountains would be the first land exposed as the water "went somewhere". At nearly 30,000 feet they would be visible from much farther away than a bird could fly, well before what was left of olive trees (that grow at under 5,000 ft) would be accessible.
    Etc......
I know these are obvious and self evident, but sadly there are many that can't see that.
    EDIT:
    13) Civilizations with recorded history from before the supposed time of "Noah's Ark" didn't record being underwater for about 1 year...

    • @joshualogan9116
      @joshualogan9116 8 лет назад +3

The ark was not a ship. Jonah was in a ship. The "animals" that went into the ark were not actual animals. they were people referred to as beasts, fowls of the air, and creeping things. The waters that came upon the ark were multitudes of wicked and violent people. The ark was merely God's protection over Noah and the people in the ark with him. I see why the world makes fun of Christians. These stories sound like fairy tales including the garden of Eden which was actually the first church, and the serpent was a human deceiver. Eve and Adam (men and women) were exposed to God. They were not actually physically naked. They had no sin so they were not ashamed. The tree of life was an individual who had Godly wisdom, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil was an individual or individuals who told lies and deceptions, and Adam (the people of the church) took of these lies and deceptions which angered God. The carnal mind is enmity against God. Most Christians and the modern so called church don't trust in the LORD but rather lean on their own understanding. Hope those who read this, read it with an open mind. It was difficult for me to take it in at first. God bless all you through Jesus Christ. Amen.

A problem that I'm seeing with people on here stating there was plenty of room on the ark for the animals as well as a years worth of supplies is that if you consider the volume required to hold the food compared to the volume of the ark, there is no way it could do it. Looking this all up, an elephant (assuming this might be the animal that eats the most, not counting any sauropods for those people that believe dinosaurs were on the ark) eats between 200-600 lbs of food a day so we can use the average of 400. I'm guessing Noah wasn't all about offering a lot of variety to the animals diet, so if we just settle on some kind of hay, an average 16"x18"x48" (8 cubic feet) square bale weighs around 100 lbs (square bales so it uses the available volume the most efficiently). So thats 4 bales a day for each elephant. Thats 32 cubic feet a day for food for just one elephant. Multiply by 365 days and thats 11680 cubic feet of space required. Multiply by 2 to account for the other elephant and we have 23,360 cubic feet. Now the ark was said to be approximately 450'x45'x75' in size, so if we consider it a rectangular prism and conveniently ignore that some of this volume would be lost due to the curvature of the bottom of the ship, the narrowing at the front, space occupied by internal structure and reinforcement, etc, we have a volume of 1518750 cubic feet. This may seem like a lot of space but the volume required just for the 2 elephants' food represents 1.54% of the total available volume of the ark. That may not seem like a significant number but that is a huge portion for just 2 of the many animals that are reported to have been on the ark. There doesn't seem to be any consistent answer as to how many animals were on the ark but I've seen a lot of comments about it being around 16000 pairs. So if .00625% of the animals require 1.54% of the available volume just for their food, there clearly will be some issues accommodating all the rest (the ark could not have carried enough food for just 65 pairs of elephants). Now I know people will claim that the animals could all have been really young, or that not every animal eats as much as an elephant, but remember, these calculations give an idealized volume to the ark, don't account for the volume that the animals will physically occupy, and don't account for the amount of freshwater required to have been stored as well.
In case you are curious, If I had considered a sauropod dinosaur its about 1000 lbs of food a day so it comes out to be 3.8% of the total volume just for 1 pair of animals. The food for 26 pairs of sauropods would be pushing the ark to its limits.

You're missing one key factor. The bible says two of each kind. It dosent have to be a full grown African Elephant or a full grown Sauropod dinosaur. It was likely the smallest breed of that kind of animal and a juvenile. Smaller, eats less and it ready to reproduce right after the flood and has many reproductive years left.

That study mixes culture and tradition. Culture is the set of customs practiced by a group. Primates can have a culture - their own way of performing tasks. But a tradition is a task or mannerism with a symbolic meaning, usually connected to a deity. But it can be for any abstract reason, like having red hair.
To use the study's example: Chimps don't attribute their way of collecting honey from a log to a god or something special. They just learned it that way from their elders and every other chimp in their group does it that way, too. *It's a culture but it's not really a tradition.*

***** definition of tradition: a way of thinking, behaving, or doing something that has been used by the people in a particular group, family, society, etc., for a long time... Tradition is in essence what creates a culture. More importantly splitting the hairs on whether it is tradition or culture that drives people to believe absurd stories is fucking ridiculous. It is clear that culture precedes the human race and that it is often followed blindly and mindlessly by our ape friends. You can call it what you want, but it is this repetition of what papa and mama thought me, that is one of the main driving forces behind believing bronze age myths in the age of computers.

      1. Its the perfect cover for any religion to claim in its text that people will doubt its followers or its stories. Of course people doubt the bible.
The Noah's Ark Story is one of the most difficult to believe for a dozen reasons.
      2. I'm not sure what you mean by "true science". There is only science and scientific discovery made through the scientific method:
observation, hypothesis, data collection, experimentation and peer review leading to publication in a scientific journal.
      3. Concerning evolution I will tell you there is more evidence for evolution then for gravity. The only debate about the validity of evolution is from dogmatic religious people.
      4. Dinosaurs: they died out 65.5 million years ago when a meteorite hit the earth. I know Ken Ham really believes the bible but many parts of it are categorically false....

The ark or argha is a symbol of the female womb and the entry of Noah (Phallus) begins a journey of 284 days which is significant to all mothers. The red Adam is another phallus symbol. The biblical penis is also called Asher/Aser/Assur. The penis (Asher) and two testicles, Anu/Oni and Hoa/Hea form a trinity of gods. Asher the Penis became one of the tribes of Israel (Saturn), Levi = Anu, the right testicle and northern fish in Pisces, Simeon = Hea, the left testicle and the western fish in Pisces. and there is the story of Jacob wrestling with "god" his penis and as a result he became a Eunuch before he "impregnated" Rachel/Isis with Benjamin. Benjamin is a son of the mother alone, just like the Greek Uranus and Jesus of a thousand names.

The first mentions we have of it, are dated to 2700 BCE. The earliest mention of the myths in Genesis, are from 1000 BCE.

You're saying, that a fictional character, with ZERO evidence to his existence, "wrote" a book? And over 40 times later than the average lifespan at the time?
Well, you may not understand what point I was making (apparently it was far to complicated for you to understand) but if the point you were trying to make is that you are thoroughly ill-educated and as gullible a mouth-breather that ever filled a con-artists collection plate, then you have made that point LOUD and clear!

The "Ark" wasn't a ship, it was a box. The Greek word for box is tebla. Like in Ark of the Covenant, which has NEVER been shown as a ship. And the "Ark" being built in Kentucky has MULTIPLE windows. The Ark of the Bible had ONE window and ONE door. I can't fathom the stench of that box when filled with thousands of creatures, all defecating and urinating daily. How did 8 people manage to feed each critter daily and remove the waste? I do not believe you need to have a '' maritime engineering '' diploma to understand, that
this type of design of a boat wouldn't be seaworthy .
First , the rudder is way to small compared to the size of the ship.
You would need an '' extremely'' heavy load at the bottom center of the boat.
Steel reinforcement wouldn't play a role,
totally ships made of steel can easily float ...
What I was trying to say , in a few words,
this was made as a ''museum'' / as a modern '' illustration ''
certainly not a as ''floatation'' device,
especially if you have seen it built with cranes , modern tools and stainless steel parts.
I believe this is a question of faith, possibly not as an ''engineering'' idea.
