I am making my bedroom over, from building closet space to wallpapering and carpeting. This is going to be a long series!
In this episode, I build and install the closet doors and adorn with a Art Deco Design. Enjoy!

Sophia, I just love your channel! We need more Sophias in this world! You have inspired me to do things I never thought I could ever do. I am in the process, of turning a walk in closet into a pantry. Today, I made the Dutch oven bread that you have a video on. The bread is sooooooo good. Thank you for being REAL!!! I wasn't sure what the "design" on the closet door was going to look like but now that i see it i really like it...I love art deco and can't wait to see it painted with the handles attached. I also like your idea to change the bathroom door. I agree that louvers are like miniblinds..a royal pain and ugly. Nice job!
A pro tip I learned....my dad is a builder and we bought some Ikea cabinets that once assembled the doors were hanging like yours. I thought they were defective but turns out you can simply loosen and tighten the tension on the screws on the hinges until they hang as needed. Play around with tightening and loosening them until you find the sweet spot where they hang nicely and evenly. He explained floors arnt always level and ours definitely weren’t and it’s as simple as that. Our doors hang so much better and it would never have occurred to me that this could be a solution as we just tightened all the screws until they wouldn’t tighten anymore. The slightest release of tension helps them drop a little and tightening can pull them up a little.

Yes, adjustable hinges - you've explained them well.
Hi, next time you work on a door like that, try using a hand plainer for getting that smoothed out between the door opening were you need it. It will help, and you'll have fun using it.
I never apologize for my design choices, and I never take other’s opinions on it..because there are apples and oranges and others are not living in your home..enjoy your finished project
You’re doing a great job! FYI, if you have never wallpapered a ceiling, it is very hard to do . Your back and neck and arms will scream at you! Plus the job of handling wallpaper that is hanging while you are trying to apply it,.....gravity is against you. It is a two man job 👍
Sophia...don't worry about what other people think. Do what you and Scott like. If we were all the same, think how boring of a world it would be :)
Hello 👋🏽 Sophia, looking at the doors, I noticed that the top left hinges on the left is slightly lower then the top hinge on the right and this is what is causing the unevenness and the small in your doors . Hope this helps. All in all, as always I love the work that you do. 👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️❤️
I think I’ve been watching your channel for at least three years, and those closet doors have me the most impressed of everything you’ve done! You have surpassed all your previous projects, and are now, in my opinion, at a professional level of craftsmanship!

Mix saw dust with your wood glue to fill the holes in the door.
Sophia, the closet is great. Should you not have put the first long piece of the door design only on half of the right hand door? That way it would overlap onto the left hand door when closed and the rest of the design would be completely in the middle and equal on both sides when shut. Only a suggestion, you are doing great.
I admire how set backs dont derail you.

The wood that you used on the sides would look good in the middle of the door also
You can buy an iron tape to go on the edges of your doors to finish them so you don't see the raw edge - you amaze me!!
You do not have to justify the design. What matters is that you and Scott both like it. It is fun to see other peoples style. You have done a great job with the closet.
I just learned something on another channel,level is for horizontal and plumb is for vertical.😁

This has a very James Bond feel! While not something I would think to make myself, if I saw it in the wild I would be interested in buying it!
I hate louvred doors, I've got too many pets and a bad back. Simple is better for me to clean 😬 had I built this closet, I likely would've just bought the typical inexpensive single door with a typical boring knob. So I'm happy you went with something creative and in a style you like and that sounds like it will fit the colors of the room! Great job Sophia!

I like it all. You have accomplished what you set out to do. When I make something, in the beginning, I notice the errors for a short while. Then I don't see anything as there's too much else vying for my attention. You can be very proud of yourself. I've really enjoyed being with you during this project.

Great work Sophia! I’m thinking you should consider to paint the inside of the closet first before moving on to another part of the bedroom makeover. This would complete the inside of your closet and afterwards when you place all your things inside, you don’t need to take them out again to paint. It will save you time and energy.
No I prefer to paint everything at the same time rather that lug paint buckets up and done, cleaning brushes etc. It s easier to just empty the closet when I am ready to paint. Just me though.

So amazing to watch you make this closet -- better than I could do. If you can't find the right screws for the handles, you might be able to use a paddle bit/spade bit to create a recessed hole in the thick door, and then the screws would be counter-sunk, if that makes sense. (I am assuming the screws go in from the back or inside of the door.) Anyway, can't wait to see the whole room!

I love them! You can cover your louvered doors with LUAN panels, where the lovers are... I have done that on my bedroom door and love them. You can copy your closet to match! It would be so easy and cost effective. You’ve done such a great job!

Cut your corners at the ceiling with a box knife and Run a bead of caulk in the corner for the best lines and easiest to paint
