This is an entire master bedroom makeover from building a closet a corner bookcase and DIY bifold doors. In this episode I declutter the big closet and install a new post for a clothes rack. Enjoy!

Kudos to Scott for getting rid of a garage bag of clothes! Now I need to work on my hubby! He has a ton of work clothes he never wears now that he works from home. 👍

TOP TIP.... try all your shoes on.... you may be surprised that they arnt comfortable or maybe don’t fit any more. I sorted mine then tried them on by chance and was shocked that most of them were uncomfortable years later x just a thought .... might as well find out now when you are sorting and donating 🤗❤️

When you install bifold doors, you might consider the dresser in the middle and bars on each side

FYI… you can buy the zipper pulls on Amazon. I’ve fixed several of my favorite jackets and didn’t have to disgard them. I know it’s not useful info when you are trying to declutter! Lol

Great job on the closet. I don’t think the bifold doors will be as difficult as you think because as long as you have the right hardware I think everything will be OK. Can’t wait to see you construct the bifolds. Loving your bedroom makeover.

Love how other women have a collection of bags. I only ever have two - one daily and one “posh” bag for evening or going out out. Oh I lie!! I have an Osprey bag in the drawer, just need an outfit to match! Lol.

Don’t beat yourself up! I have the same condition and I don’t have a job outside the home! I am Definitely a procrastinator! ie: Bathroom Cabinet panel not fixed, it’s been broken for 5 yrs?? threshold in my craftroom has not been installed, from 4 yrs ago. Ceiling fan needs replaced, been broken for 6 months. Family needs paint finished from make 3 yrs ago. Carpet needs replaced throughout house, long over due. I mean I’m not doing that myself but I need to call and get someone out her to measure and pick out new carpet etc. How did I ever get stuff done when I worked? Oh I know, I paid someone to help me clean the whole house once a month! Life happens! 👍😘💜👍😘💜👍😘💜

Maybe try the "one touch" method; you hold the item and then go put it in place. Like you took out your left over clothes from the closet, put them immediately into yours.
Let Scott keep his zip jacket if he likes it. I’m sure you could pay someone to replace the zipper or even do it yourself. We have a lovely Turkish man in my town who has replaced several zips for me for a very good price.

Those hooks are beautiful! The way your face light's up when you look at your purses it's to bad there wasn't a way you could display them so you get to enjoy there beauty? Have you ever kicked the idea around of tearing out Scott's closet and putting your bed by the window with your beautiful tables and lights on both sides? It would open it up more and give it better flow and I'm sure with some great thought there would be a great spot opened up for his dresser..then you likely will ask where will Scott's clothes go and the extra stuff..hmmmm...what if you closed off the wall on the other side of the TV and built a second closet there for him? Just an idea never know may ignite a spark or plant a seed either way it's going to be absolutely gorgeous because it's your and Scott's sanctuary and it reflects you both. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures, I've grown close to you and your family over the year's and loved watching you turn your home into your Castle. Honestly I'd watch you watch paint dry lol your such a delight to hangout with! Take care

Nice job with the closet! I thought of the sliding barn door too, but you are right that it wouldn’t match your aesthetic. Slowly but surely you are getting there 😊. You should be proud of everything you’ve done so far!

I’m yelling to let it go.. because you said it would only be Scott’s closet. He will never wear the sketchers because they are under two pair of shoes he never wears except for weddings and funerals.

My two cents…. A slide barn door panel to cover the hanging clothes would look nice. Then matching handles from your nightstands would dress up the dresser
My husband has a cap for every submarine he rode on. He was a rider so that is a lot of caps. They take up an entire large bin under the bed. I can't tell you how many toenails that thing has ripped off. I think you are maki ng a mistake with the the doors. Two individual pull doors like cabinet doors
will work better and be less expensive.
The clost is too wide for pull doors. They would slam into the bed frame.

Just wondering...if your old sliding doors are solid, perhaps you could cut them to make your bi-folds instead of buying new ones. I also kind of like the idea of having one door on the right that would slide to the left. Very clever idea.

Neurodivergent executive dysfunction. I have to remember that. It's a thing for me with our so-called home "office"...for 25+ years. Husband and i started pulling it apart a month ago. And kind of inadvertently stopped (i.e., Found other things we'd rather do LOL!). Maybe this weekend I'll get back to it ;)

Looks good! Maybe you can do a custom built in closet one day in that space? I’ve seen some nice ones on Pinterest. I’ve seen some for even closets as small as yours. (low ceiling)
I am thinking the sliding doors might work now that Scott has his dresser in there, he only needs to access one side of closet at a time now.

Or I could put the art deco handles on his dresser and just have one door on the right that slides to the left...oh boy. Thinking cap is on!
@@mygreatchallenge I think you might have something there with one slide and the Art Deco handles on his chest. I measured my bi fold doors when opened back to frame. Top was 3 1/2” but bottom 3 3/4”. With the decor design on each panel they may not open as flush together taking up even more space.

You are hilarious Sophia. Scott said he doesnt fit or wear those shirts or sweaters and You told him you would wear them and put them aside. Donate to someone who needs them... As for your pretty loungerie, id put them on a pretty hanger or hang them on a pretty hook as decor. I still remember how long it took you to give up books and pens were everywhere. In the meantime im loving this series. Great job.
I watched a documentary that showed what happens to a lot of donated clothes. It was eye opening! 👀
Many clothes get dumped in the ocean and the legs and arms weave together making long "tentacles" that become a nuisance to sea life and boaters.
Nothing should be dumped into our waters ever. But im sure there are legitt places to donate. We have many Ukrainians coming, who left their homes with barely anything. Or homeless shelters. I live on the gulf coast and would hate for them to put them in our waters. Thanks for telling me though.

I'm retired so have no more use for career clothes.
I donated them to a women's shelter because fleeing so quickly with barely a change of clothes they will need them to start over.

I would have taken the easy way out and just attached the bar to the dresser. 😅
You would not be able to open the drawer then. You need long screws.

Sophia, you had me laughing when you took Scott’s cardigan out of the back of the closet and said « this is your cardigan I gave you this for Christmas two years ago « . Some things we keep but we just don’t wear them. My husband doesn’t really declutter his closet unless I suggest to go through his stuff. Watching you and Scott reminded me of me and my husband decluttering his things.
