Obviously Finland used another currency before Euro currency was even a thing. That currency was Finnish Mark (markka) from 1860 up to 2002 when Euro currency was adopted. Finns had to learn to multiply and divide by six, because 1 euro was about 5.95 marks before people got used to Euro prices. 1/100 of "markka" was "penni."
I remember when I bought candy with my last marks and first euros at the same time. One euro was 6,20 marks. Super Nintendo games were 350 marks. It was hard to get parents buy you games until they had to pay just 50€.
The shopper in the video is Vesa-Matti Loiri, you could say he is a Finnish Legacy, a Finnish Singer and actor, he has had many roles in movies and has made and sang many songs, he passed away a few years ago, He was one of the greatest artists in finland and almost the whole country demanded a state funeral for him, Finnish goverment did not give him that honor, but otherwise he was honored and still is honored today.
The similarity to British comedy is not by accident. Neil Hardwik moved to Finland in 1969 and started producind comedy in the late '70s. He had a big influence on Finnish comedy. My favourites as a kid in the '80s were "Tankki täyteen" and "Reinikainen". Reinikainen was actually a spin of from Tankki täyteen.
