i like the castle setting and also the snack-shops are great, but i miss the beergarden mini-rooftops from the old market, the new one has not enough sitting area.
I thought they were making difference branches of Night Markets but they are closing the Original one that’s Unfortunate! However, I’m glad the land wont just sit idle/empty and they are developing it! I want the Rama IX Building to be built here or on that huge land next to the Childlom station! Or hopefully a Project that Beats Rama IX Building w/ a Thai Design!

So the “new” market is in the original location it was at before they moved it to Esplanade? It used to be at Phahon Yontin. That is why it was called “train” market.
Because this was the opening, they used the area around the castle to put a stage. I think normally this would be a good location for having seats. There was a Singha beer stand as well.
That castle simply doesn't fit into Bangkok. It completely destroys the identity of city and makes it look like a circus. It's a major disaster and should be removed asap. Also, the old Jodd Fairs location was more iconic because of much more attractive skyscrapers around but maybe a new location will further develop in the near future so let's wait and see. And I didn't notice any large seating/chilling areas at new location, are there any at all?
This old castle is from fun park that was closed long time ago more than decade. I don’t think they will destroy the good memories of many people who grow up with this fun park. The old Jodd fair have to be closed because the owner want to take the land back, and maybe they will just continue doing the same kind of market.

Looks too touristy. Looks like it's geared towards tourists. Hard to explain, but I like the Jodd Fairs in Rama 9 better.
