  • Known by its family as "The Unicorn," this Colt Single Action Army is one of a kind. It has been fired only once, as a test at the factory, and was originally owned by one of the great Texas cattlemen of the 19th century, A.B. Robertson.
It has never been offered for sale since its initial purchase by Robertson in 1917, who was a man with a fascinating story all his own.
This fine and historic revolver will be offered for sale in our 2016 April Premiere Firearms Auction.

I slept many a night under that big sky country. You words transported me to a time long ago of youth and simpler times. Mentally refreshing. Thank you

Absolutely an amazing story, and Colt. As a Western historian, this is about as neat as it gets.

Doesn't matter...it's an object. Your memories surrounding the object do not change the fact that it's a colt saa revolver and nothing more. If it was in your family and someone offered you 500 million dollars...you would definitely sell it. Ming dynasty, Egyptians, Roman's, all left behind the objects that to them were so valuable...that value they had for the items no longer exist...take the money and live a better more fulfilled life or help others with it. But to let it reside in a revolver with no purpose...is vanity and foolish.

And they ask today why Americans like guns so much. It's in the genesis of the country. You couldn't do much in America if you weren't able to defend yourself.

Got a bit of a cylinder ring there for a gun that's only been fired at the factory.
