I'd be interested in seeing a video of Beth analyzing Tim's performance of "Sweet Transvestite"
I think Tim Curry is an often overlooked and underrated actors. Frank'n'Furter, Pennywise, Doctor Petrov on Red October (among many others) are such different characters and he did all of them brilliantly.
The most amazing thing to me about this song is how Curry uses his voice to make you FEEL what his character feels. This is one of the few songs that genuinely gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it, that amazing combination of elation, regret and fear of the unknown...... just hits me everytime
How many times I've sung this in front of film screen with a giant Tim Curry behind me...
It’s amazing how Dr. Franknfuter can go from villainous to emotionally sympathetic. A movie with a transvestite stereotype nearly made me cry. This movie deserves to go down in infamy.
RHPS is my favorite musical. And is the movie that made me fall in love with Tim Curry... Thanks for covering this one!
Ok, so I am late to the party, but nonetheless I'll recommend you take a look at Tim Curry's performance of "The Pirate King";1982 Royal Variety Performance; simply magnificent
Tim is a truly, hugely talented human being.
I think Tim Curry's song Toxic Love in FernGully would be another good analysis
As a boy, seeing Pirates of Penzance for the first time, It was my dream to become a musical theater performer. Sadly whilst I didn't achieve that, I did manage to become my next choice.... an accountant.
In the mid-80s (I think), there was a double LP of the whole film soundtrack with audience participation.
Wow!!! Shocked at this one! My favorite song from the movie! It’s always overlooked when people talk about this movie. It’s the last one I’d expect a reactor to react to. That’s why I love this channel!
He has such a nice, breathy voice. His records are really fun to listen to also. Thanks for doing this one! I absolutely love Tim!
In Austin TX they've been playing RHPS every Friday night at midnight since 1976. The theater that hosted it longest had a mountain of dead reels they wore out over the years.
Tim curry is one of my favorites and so is rocky horror this song gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it
My favourite song in Rocky Horror, Tim Curry just sounds awesome!
I was lucky enough to see him on the first West-End run of Spamalot - and while he no longer has the moves his voice was still as rich and powerful.
The great and mighty Tim Curry. Although it rubs my theatre friends the wrong way, I think his best performance was from Clue.
Tim Curry has a few albums to his name, that came out in the 70's and 80's. A bud of mine had one(can't remember which), that he lent me to check out...it wasn't bad...Tims vocals are distinct and unique, so you will always know when you are listening to a Tim Curry song(don't know if he wrote his own material or not).
I love Tim Curry! The wife and I love this movie and go to see the shows.
