It is Christmas break. Why you assigning homework? I had no idea that cactus leaves are edible so now I have to hit the encyclopedias (because I am old) or maybe RUclips and Dr Google, to research medicinal and food uses for cactus leaves. I know about aloe and burns but that is all. Maybe the State Fair should have a cactus truck between the deep fried ice cream and deep fried butter trucks. Right?
When I was a child, I always seemed to fall into cacti, I remember my aunt one time pulling these long thorns out my arm with a tweezer. Nasty plants but beautiful too.
Just a thought, you could put that cactus pieces out for free, people eat the fruit that they produce, or leave some where they can be picked up. And that is very hard work, the do spread fast and thick.
I found one petal of a Prickly Pear cactus and planted it. They really grow fast. I just cringe watching you pick up the leaves. Anytime i get close to my cactus, i get thorns in me. You are brave. But, they do have beautiful flowers. HNY.
