- In this video, we're tackling a sidewalk that has become so overgrown, it’s almost impossible to walk on without tripping or running into obstacles. The sidewalk is right next to a fire station, a place that's meant to keep us safe, but this overgrowth is creating a real safety hazard. We all know how important it is to have clear paths, especially near places like this. Wow Derek, you not only beautified that sidewalk and yard, but you also improved the road and Hwy safety. When you removed the proturbing brush, you made the approach to that corner clear and definitive. @@aprilalkire4182 actually I believe this lack of maintenance on streets is everywhere cities are cutting back on things unfortunately the streets and infrastructure are not a priority. I’m glad there are people who see the problem and will help their community appearance.
It's also cities get pissed off at people for helping make the city look better you do anything to city property they give you tickets

It is so damn good to finally see someone pull out all the big weeds before mowing over them normally they just mow over them and I wondered if they just came back which I thought they did you did a very amazing job.

There are all different kinds of volunteer or service work that can be done to raise up a community. Back in my day, community cleanups were way more popular. I'm truly sorry that civic pride seems to be falling by the wayside, so thanks for leading by example and taking care of a problem when you saw one!

It can be, but I stay very aware of the cars and this is why we have to have these sidewalks safe for pedestrians
I used to work on I-95 in Connecticut. You should come out there and deal with the idiots that don't move over and the truckers that think it's sport to blow the hats off the workers

Good job Derek!❤. Glad you are careful around the heavy traffic. Try red cones at both ends of the sidewalks you do for your safety to perhaps slow the traffic.

Derek i often think we are just like larger ants. Our buildings get knocked down we rebuild them just like ant hills. I wonder if ants have their own litter and debris that other ants clean up after. Anyway thank you for making another sidewalk safer. You stay safe on those busy roads!

I agree it will be much better for him now that its cleaned up. I used to be nervous around busy traffic, but I have learned to just pay attention to the traffic on the street and wear the vest so that I am easily visible
