Merry Christmas....BTW...as a NJ gardener, we keep a spray bottle of isopropyl alcohol, dawn dish soap and water to clean off poison ivy. Spray then wipe with baby wipe....easy peasy.

For vines up high, get a paint roller stick, knock cage off a paint roller and screw onto stick. You know have a grab stick for moving vines and snakes out of the way

Always walk the yard for objects and debris before mowing. Save you a headache or two.
I used to use Tecnu poison oak and ivy armor. Its a lotion you put on your skin before you go out in the brush. Then you launder your clothes and shower right away with the Tecnu soap. It worked great! We have ton of poison oak here in California and it made backpacking a lot more fun to have Tecnu.
I really hope you didn't get poison ivy from your efforts. I don't care what anyone says that Toro is a beast! And so are you for tackling that mess. Anyone can mow tallish grass. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

This is definitely a repeat from some time ago. I remember the couch cushion and I’m pretty sure that is dad’s mower. BUT, it’s a holiday week so I’m just happy to see anything.
Looks better than what it was before you began. Now the neighbors and passersby won't have to look at the eyesore that it became... for awhile at least.
I just want to tell you that your doing the abandoned properties are more appreciated than you think. It improves the neighborhood. If it's in a school district, it keeps the children safer walking by them. As for the fencelines, even those are appreciated if you do them as it sometimes gets into their gardening, but if its not their fence, they can't touch it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I put a black trash bag on my arm and pulled poison ivy and then turned the bag inside out as i removed it with a couple of fingers never got it. I see you got yourself a new lawn machine.
