I felt this song's soulful element and honestly, it's really soothing to listen to but at the same time, it gives me the chills when this song is at it's climax. A great song indeed 👍
This song was a message from Michel Berger to his lost love Veronique Sanson another french singer. He was so devastated she left him in 1972 for an American singer Stephen Stills (yeah ! The one of Buffalo Springfield et Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young) that he wrote this song and ask to Françoise Hardy to sung it. That's the reason why it's a sad song...but what an incredible song !
Exactely ! He wrote it just after Vero left Michel Berger and departed to the US. And Francoise RIP !! Pense a moi....viens me retrouver.....This lyrics in french were so beautiful, I loved this song, also great harmonies, vraiment magnifique par Michel, et chante par Francoise. (I cannot type the accents on the letters)
Françoise Hardy is simply unmissable. Her sublime voice that envelops you, very soft! its natural beauty and wonderful songs. Everything is absolutely good in Françoise Hardy's career.
Great idea! It’s actually a song written by Gainsbourg (can’t remember him performing it). But there are very nice covers, like Jimmy Somerville’s, which could make a perfect dual reaction. So F. Hardy vs J. Somerville sounds very promising!
@@tixien Yes, Serge wrote the French Lyrics. Françoise loved an instrumental track recorded in 1967 by Arnold Goland called "It hurts to say goodbye". But in fact, she didn't know that it was the instrumental cover of the original 1966 jazzy song sung by Margaret Whiting .The song was covered in swedish by Anni-Frid Lyngstad.
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard ... and still I don't understand a word of the lyrics. It must be her voice ... It's like I understand even if I don't know the words. I became a fan of hers just a couple of years ago when I bought a Greatest hits-compilation of hers, and I loved every song on it. Now I have bought lots of her albums. She's fantastic!
I think I had completely forgotten that song. I don't even know if I had ever really listened to it. It's a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing this moment.
French poetry 🇫🇷 "Message Personnel" is a declaration of love. The meaning of this song is deep ... it is about True Love ❤️ Françoise Hardy is also an AMAZING Love songs writer 😍
An icon. Best showcase for her voice are “mon amie la rose” from her 60s output, and in the 80s “Partir quand même”. As suggested in the comments, “Comment te dire adieu” is also great, poppy, very Gainsbourg in style and superbly covered by Jimmy Somerville.
Absolutely right. Tbh she wrote so many beautiful songs (and so many more written for her) that it’s hard to pick one, but her early work is so delicate and subtle. Mon amie la rose is incredible, Le premier bonheur du jour would be my second suggestion (but again, hard to pick).
ts The American magazine Rolling Stone, which compiled a list of the "200 greatest singers of all time", only retained one French voice, Françoise Hardy.👍❣️
Wouhouuuuu Mylène s back on your back thank youuuuuuu !!!!!! a part ça j aime énormément message personnel Françoise Hardy a une voix magnifique dans le souffle comme Mylène elle déclenche une émotion immédiate tu as plein de titre à découvrir de cette artiste qui elle aussi a un bel univers
The song is by Berger who thought to his former girl friend, but the spoken preamble is by F Hardy. The whole thing gives a song of desperate love to her husband Jacques Dutronc who was not a model. They lived and live separately, she in Paris, he in Corsica. They never divorce.
One of my all time favorite songs. I can listen to this song forever. It never gets old. Written by MBerger (except for the spoken intro which Francoise Hardy), it's written as if she was leaving a message on an answering machine. This song and collaboration was a reboot of her career. She'd been very famous in the 60s in a different style of songs. She's had a cult following and inspired some singers like Etienne Daho. She's a fascinating singer. Really worth looking at more of her songs. Glad you found this song. It's a true gem.
Merci magnifique Francoise..
Wow, wow, wow! What a huge surprise dear Dereck! You made my day! I’ve been waiting for this moment since I followed you. Françoise is my favourite French female singer. Love her repertoire and ton of voice since her first record in 1962. This song is iconic and a classic. She did an English rendition of it. A bunch of great artists covered the song Michel Berger, France Gall, Julie Pietri, etc. Here are my suggestions of great songs she recorded: Tant de belles choses, All over the world, Le danger, Voilà, La maison où j'ai grandi, J'écoute de la musique saoule, Point, Dix heures du soir en été, Tirez pas sur l'ambulance, Partir quand même, Juke box, To the end (duet with Damon Albarn), My beautiful deamon (duet with Ben Christophers), Tamalou, Soleil (her Spanish version called Sol is awesome), and hundred many more.
Thank you very much for this masterful work. It was time before this great lady left us, which is her wish and her fight and we can only respect her. Françoise Hardy is of an unclassifiable beauty, a simple woman, intelligent, the woman in all her plenitude.
" but if you believe you love me. Don't think you memories worry me. And run, run util you loose you breath. And Come find me again. " A very strong song about the true love. The love you are waiting for ..at every cost! Kisses from France 21h38 near Rochefort.
Very emotional... Françoise, born 1944 was very popular in France in the 60s and 70s. Her voice was unbelievable, a sweet artist, a real smart person. One of the most beautiful singer in France at that time with Sylvie Vartan, France Gall, Brigitte Bardot, Sheila, Véronique Sanson. Johnny was with Sylvie and Dutronc was with Françoise in the 60-70ties. I think they aren't divorced but they no longer live together. Musically speaking, I prefer the 70s period. A Era of innovation, modernity, stand up with strings, piano, bass. When you hear her songs , you can imagine you're in the same world than VÉRONIQUE or FRANCE. Golden years. I think she could have been a top model. But Françoise has a eternal soul. ❤️never forget Françoise Hardy 💓and long life to her. THANK YOU for this song Derek. 🙏
Francoise Hardy, what a wonderful woman. Her songs are sooo good and she looks so natural and elegant ♡ F Hardy - Le temps de l'amour, Comment te dire adieu, Le premier bonheur du jour (my favorite one♡)
Triple combo for the next react : Vera Lynn - It Hurts to Say Goodbye x Francoise Hardy - Comment te dire adieu x Jimmy Somerville feat. June Miles Kingston - Comment Te Dire Adieu
Hi Dereck. Iam extreme happy that you are showing this video of this wonderful singer Françoise Hardy. Long career since 1962. Appreciated in France of course but also in Europe.
It is a great testament to the quality of the emotion in the music and the lyrics, let alone the performance that you picked up so much of what the lyrics are about without knowing the language.
It is very romantic and kind of desperate song. The last words spoken "peut-être" (maybe) mean that she does not believe herself in a happy ending. She sends a message in a bottle for the sea to decide. Dramatic !
it was written and composed by Michel Berger after his break up with Véronique Sanson but the spoken intro was added and written by Hardy, a personal message to the love of her life, Jacques Dutronc
It's funny how in a few minutes you manage to feel the same thing French people feel about Françoise Hardy! There's something fascinating about her, even though her voice is not the strongest. There's a melancoly, a sensibility. She's Jacques Dutronc's wife. Their son is a musician/singer too. Can you imagine growing up with such parents! Icons!
Alas Derek Mrs Hardy is very ill...she wrote a beautiful song called 'Tant de belles choses' for his son saying even if i die i'll be there somewhere for you...maybe Derek you should let your tears appear on this song....F Hardy is the Jacques Dutronc wife :) hello from France
Not the best placed to speak about Françoise Hardy, but I agree with you, she has a voice that you could listen until the end of the night. Another very beautiful title of her "Mon amie la rose" (the version of Natacha Atlas is also sublime). As you quote Dominique A, I take the opportunity to advise you some titles of him : "Le courage des oiseaux" (an excellent live version) , "Twenty-two bar" (his first big public success) , "Eléor"" , Rendez-nous la lumière" , "Immortels" , "Se Décentrer" ......... His discography is quite rich, chiseled texts (many very beautiful songs) ....
One of the most beautiful french song. Françoise Hardy was very appreciated by many english singers, from Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger to Blur/Gorillaz' Damon Albarn and Jimmy Sommerville who sung one of her song "Comment te dire adieu !" ruclips.net/video/mwhX5V1Gn6w/видео.html (Hardy) vs ruclips.net/video/YXGspic_NUE/видео.html (Sommerville)
Hi Dereck. Another musical monument, heartfelt and soulful. Next time, I suggest you react to Françoise Hardy's emotional hit "Partir Quand Même". Beautiful lyrics and nice video. Keep up the good work and take care.
Hi Derek, excuse my bad english, I'm french. You're so right talking about Françoise Hardy and all her beautiful songs, there are so many!!!. I could advise you to listen to Mon amie la rose but the most important is the strengh of the lyrics in this song but anyway listen to "L' amour en privé" written by Serge Gainsbourg. The music is amazing.
hi dereck , i love when you react to our music , but im surprised you never did this artist , you must react to our french angel who passed away at 24 , 15 years ago , gregory lemarchal , an angel voice , personally my favorite songs are " accords perdus " and the song " je t'ecris (live olympia ) ,
Loved Francoise Hardy since I saw her in concert in the 1960s. She had a hit in the UK with All Over The World (Dan le Monde Entier) in 1966, and I think could have had a big international career if she hadn't been such a shy, home loving woman. Check out a couple of my favourite songs of hers: Star (cover of the Janis Ian song, which I like better than the original) and Tant de Belles Choses.
CHRISTOPHE.
And Agnetha Fältskog really likes Françoise. On July 2013 on the "Ken Bruce Show" on BBC Radio 2, as she could choose songs, she asked the programmer to play the song "L'amour s'en va", Monaco's 1963 Eurovision Song Contest entry performed by Francoise Hardy.

Rest in peace Françoise, and thanks for all the songs ❤
Hard to listen, it always make me cry, when you loved or love it revive your scars, and it's of course so incredible, beautifull.
My top 3 French songs
Françoise Hardy passed away on June 11th, leaving a great void in the hearts of the French people.
I felt this song's soulful element and honestly, it's really soothing to listen to but at the same time, it gives me the chills when this song is at it's climax. A great song indeed 👍
Beautiful song and sentiment.
Rest in Peace.

Pense a moi....viens me retrouver.....This lyrics in french were so beautiful, I loved this song, also great harmonies, vraiment magnifique par Michel, et chante par Francoise. All songs composed by Michel Berger are masterpieces
Françoise Hardy is simply unmissable. Her sublime voice that envelops you, very soft! its natural beauty and wonderful songs.
Everything is absolutely good in Françoise Hardy's career.
The most charming, beautiful, iconic french female singer !!! I'd love her so much, and her songs are amazing !!!
Talk about EMOTIONAL ! I sometimes imagine getting a message like this one in my voicemail... One day maybe !
Francoise Hardy is an iconic singer. Please Dereck just listen to "Comment te dire adieu" song covered by Serge Gainsbourg.

I love Françoise Hardy and this fantastic song of Michel Berger.
She was an icon of the 60's...
Next time try "le temps de l'amour" her first hit.
Her first it is Tous les garçons et les filles ;)
She was so stunningly beautiful! xxx
Still is
Françoise Hardy is an icon since the sixties , even her latest songs are good .
Finally, the queen
More Francoise Hardy please!!! She is sublime.
I think I had completely forgotten that song. I don't even know if I had ever really listened to it.
It's a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing this moment.

This one of Michel Berger's Masterpiece... And Francoise performance is "masterclass"... It's a HARD song when you're in love and understand French...
Yes, it totally captures the cruel indecision of what to do to rescue the situation and still respect the other person.

One of the 10 best french songs ever, if not one of the 5, imho.
Derek, you should have a look at "Moi vouloir toi", her voice in this song is blowing !

Great one
You still miss a vert good one by Michel Berger singing by France Gall and Daniel Balavoine together ; " Quand on a plus rien à perdre "
Word of advice : never listen to this when drunk and wanting to call your exes !
She was etherical all her life. May she rip
there's a connection between Francoise Hardy & Frida (ABBA) they both recorded in their own language a splendid version of "It's hurt to say goodbye"

I know this song from the movie Huit Femmes (8 Women). 💓

Here an almost forgotten gem: Inch Allah, a duet by Adamo and Mourane (who also song together with Lara Fabian). Deep.
