Good rundown of each of these. I was shopping around for a NAS chassis for a while and ended up on the Sliger CX4712. This was a great decision even though they were going through some of their own supplier issues which meant it took an extended amount of time to get to me. Removable motherboard tray, front access drives, excellent potential cooling capabilities, an overall well-built and thought-out chassis with fantastic customer service via Discord and email. Only real issues I had were no front dust filter like a couple of their other NAS chassis they offer and not enough airflow for my particular HBA which caused it to heat up the entire rear and make it nearly untouchable. Both have been completely solved by making a DIY magnetic mesh filter and a 3D printed rear IO 120mm fan bracket along with a 120mm fan mount pointed directly at the HBA. It's been excellent!
The CX4712 is a nice case. If it weren't for my love for iDrac that is probably the case I would go with for my main server. I didn't realize the CX4712 doesn't have a dust filter. I kinda wonder if these HBAs don't do well in general when it comes to custom builds. Supply chain issues have been hell in general since covid sadly. I am glad they are very active on discord and reddit to help with that though.
Sliger's naming scheme indicates the design of the case. Granted I have never decoded it. I believe CX means rackmount. 3 means 3U. I'm guessing 7 means front drive bays although normally the 2nd and 3rd numbers refer to depth. Not sure what 4th number means. If there is a letter at the end that indicates 5.25" drive bay options. Can't speak for the other cases beyond the part of the model number that how many U. I will admit he other model numbers are pretty bad.

Ordered my 4712 the other day, hopefully it doesn't take too long to get here. Excited to finally get my Proxmox server racked!
@@nadtz pretty cool knowing more and more Sliger cases are showing up in the wild. Sounds like you have a fun build in the works.
The dimensions not being in the same order make it hard to compare. Otherwise good comparison thanks!
@@matthewclark7032 that's a good point. I just pulled them off the product pages as is but should have reorganized them to make it more logical.
The Names for all those are horrible ... why not just call it the " Sliger Model 7 " etc

@@computersales I like your reasoning and the Sliger Case, but they could make it easier to remember it ...
@@jfkastner fair enough. 😅
