The Firmware was always cheap and horrible, I often ended up installing a SMB Cisco Firewall behind it on the LAN side and bridging the DSL

Wow, thanks! R730xd with H730 mini goes with one backplane of 12x3.5" SAS, but limits speed to 12Gbps for all of them. If I install another card like HBA330, can I connect it to the backplane so 4+4 disks (2 cables) disks go to the HBA330 and 3 to the original H730 you reckon?

Hi there, I've watched this other video from you: ruclips.net/video/2-3q36qyYrU/видео.html I'm having an issue to which I haven't been able to find a solution yet. Watching your video kinda brought me some hope. My machine is not a Dell, but an HP DL360 Gen9 (yeah I know quite an old machine but hasn't failed yet), which as well has a PCIe Riser card, as well with a proprietary PCIe 8-pin connector... Having a bad time trying to source the proper cable - the idea is to setup the best possible (at least for my budget) GPU, as I found a decent deal on a Quadro RTX 4000, single slot for my 1U server. Do you know if the HP pins are in the same positions as the DELL? If I grab my multimeter and measure the PCIe riser conector what should I look for? I have done some other types of cables myself, soldering is not an issue for me, sourcing terminals, pins, plugs and that sort of thing is also not a problem... of course I'd rather be able to just buy it, but haven''t had luck yet... And truth is, I have been reading about the "proprietary" side of the story, and I'm kinda affraid. Dude, would you be so kind to help me somehow? Either by saying the cable I need is the same as you have and that I can buy from you, or just by telling me where to get some infos on the Pin Layout matter.... Thank you in advance and sorry for the loong exposition...

Can I ask you a dumb questions because SAS or SCSI were never my point of interest until today when friend brought me 2 SAS drives to try to recover files. I bought (same as on video) adapter sas to sata but I didn't know that I need controller (didn't try yet). Question 1: Can it be connected to sata even on lower speed just to recover files if it is possible? Question 2:If connected over sas to sata adapter, can it burn sata controller on motherboard or damage something?

I know it’s been a while, but a note for the fans adjusting with GPU temps. The Tesla P40’s do not have fans :-) there’s a metal plate with fins, it’s designed to use the R730’s chassis fans with the ducts to cool the cards. Pretty cool design. Noise wise idk 😅.
