Reviewing Lightroom Classic's New Built-In Presets & Other Updates

- Adobe Lightroom Classic 10.3 was just released and has a few new features that make editing our photos a bit easier. The main 3 features are native support for Apple Silicon computers, a new "super resolution" feature which can 4x our photos resolution, and a brand new set of "premium" Lightroom presets that come natively with the software. In this video we take a closer look at these 3 updates, placing focus on the new premium presets and the new super resolution feature.

I’m a little confused on them. I use a preset and not much of my settings on the picture are changed.

With the even more recent updates in 2023, all these presets have gotten better. I absolutely love using my old Nikon D1x; the way it renders colors is just so nice. But... 6 megapixels doesn't get as far as it did in 1999. The super resolution feature is great for when I need that extra boost in resolution.

Good video, I really hope they add a slider to reduce preset intensity. I know there is already a tweak you have to buy to add that. The presets are great but to have the option to reduce it would be even greater and adobe can do this because they have that in Pr pro already.
I hope they add that as well, not sure why they haven't tbh. One day it will come!
I'm having issues exporting my photos from Lightroom Classic. It only gives me the option to export the files as TIFF files and no options for JPEG or PNG. I tried resetting my preferences and toggling panels off and on and nothing seems to work. Any thoughts?

Hey Surllivan, thank you boss! Just using a Godox SL150 light with a softbox and honeycomb grid. Used my computer screen as a fill light for the left side of my face. Mic is a Rode Videomic NTG and audio was graded in Adobe Audition. Still looking for the best recording setup for my studio but generally content with the recent quality of videos!

How do you get colour accuracy on mac book air?
It’s pretty color accurate in general. I haven’t calibrated my screen with external software but I would if I was shooting a color sensitive project.

The latest update has completely ruined my photographic workflow. Suddenly I cannot upload my camera files anymore (can't read files) and cannot access my files on my external hard drive. Adobe is a total cock up and after 12 years with Lightroom I switch to Capture One. I run the latest 16 inch MBP with 32 GB memory and all my cards on all my cameras are in good condition!
Damn, I’m super sorry to hear that. How annoying. I hear really good things about capture one. Ive played around with it for a bit in the past.
If you do decide to go back to Lightroom I believe you can easily downgrade LR versions by clicking the little arrow next to Lightroom Classic in The Adobe Creative cloud app. If it’s not there, I’m sure there’s an easy way to do it!
