I was told SSD hard drives if they're about to die they don't give you warning signals & you may not be able to recover the data but HDD may be slower but you'll get signs if they're about to die & data recovery is easier. As a content creator and photographer, which one do you prefer & why?
An easy and comprehensive workflow. Thanks for sharing. I also edit all my instagram photos in Lightroom mobile. I found the info about the Adobe Bridge very useful as well.
Thank you Eva! I think it’s a great workflow for someone with lots of images that still wants to edit on their phones in a practical way. Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Thankyou so much for making this and thanks a ton for your course on skillshare which taught me framing. Ive been killing on instagram thanks to you :)
You have an effective mobile editing workflow which I guess helps you save time during your editing process. I always wondered why my colors were a bit off on my iPhone after being exported from the desktop. Thank you so much. You’re an amazing educator.
Hey James, thanks for the love man! Hopefully this workflow can help you get more consistent colors in your images, it certainly did for me. Looking forward to getting the iPad and using that in the near future
Thanks for the content Sean! I'm interested in how you get your view settings in Bridge (only seeing 3 photos before hitting spacebar - 4:26), and then once you've hit spacebar to view the photos is there a way to give the 5-star rating in that view (5:26)?
Hey Kobus thank you for watching! On the bottom of bridge you can see some settings that control how photos are displayed before entering full screen view, there’s also a little box that says Use [Command Key] for Labels and Ratings. I uncheck that box. Then, when I’m in full screen mode I can simply hit any number on my keyboard to give the photo a star rating
When you are ready to export for Instagram instead of exporting to your phone then uploading you can select "Share to..." then select the Instagram icon and it will give you an option to export to Post, Story or Message. I imagine LR would automatically adjust the export settings to suit to...
Great video! Really interested when you get an iPad as that's the way I am thinking of going for travel based video editing to avoid having to take the laptop with me. Really like the step with Adobe Bridge to look at the previews to organise - I usually organise photos into 0, 2, 3 & 4 - 0 being the trash, 2 being keep but don't edit, 3 being edit but not right now and 4 being edit now. As I edit if any of them are ones I think I may wish to print I reassign them a 5. I do all of this in Lightroom but I like the idea of doing it in Bridge so may play around with that!
Hi Sean, what an excellent and helpful video. Just some questions - I have installed both, lightroom classic and lightroom and tested making some changes in my lightroom mobile app on a photo , it instantly replicates on lightoom on my desktop, but took a long while to show on lightroom classic..any ideas about their syncing process. 2. whats the connection with deletion- if i delete a photo from one would it delete from other as well> 3. When I move some photos in collection in lightroom classic would they still be in the main folder. like would the copy in main folder in lightroom classic stay as it is or replicate chanfes too.
I also primarily edit on my phone. I do the same as far as plugging my camera into my pc, import to Lightroom and sometimes even do little edits as it syncs to my phone. I did not know about bridge though that’s something I will check out, thanks Sean! I honestly would edit more on my PC if I didn’t work a 9-5. I edit a lot on my breaks and any time I can find to do so on my days off. I just need to get to your level of composition and editing to complete my workflow 😂
I have been struggling for ages to organise my photos in a workflow that makes sense and I can follow. Thanks for sharing, this is simple, practical and super helpful.
You can do this on iPhone as well. But you’re limited by the space on your phone. I don’t think this is a practical approach for people like me with lots of images
@@seandalt I mean can connect directly our portable SSD, SD card etc, to mobile via OTG is a big deal, and if we need more cloud base memory we can use 200GB on Google Drive just for two-dollar USD.
I love your content my guy! Your channel above all on RUclips that I have seen so far is what is helping! Since I just started following you, do you have any videos going over Watermarking your photos? And a tutorial on the Lightroom one via mobile? I’d appreciate it lots! Thank you! - Mason (MomentsFramedPhotography)
When you say you’re exporting a smart preview, then how come does Lightroom Mobile have an option to download the original? I thought it was possible to export the og when you downloaded it. Great vid btw.
I think you can export the original if the original is actually stored on your phone. Because I sync the photos over via creative cloud I don't think they're originals, but rather only smart previews. Does that make sense?
@@seandalt Yes you can, but you have to store it locally or download it first and then export. Its what I usually do, the export seems to have the exact same quality the original file has, which is why I was a bit confused when you said that on the video. Either way the quality from a smart preview isn't that far from the original, at least for social media purposes anyway.
@@pablobaquerizoro I just did a bit more digging and you’re right, you can download the originals. There’s a setting on Lightroom mobile. Thanks for pointing that out! I honestly can’t see a difference between the smart previews and the originals on my computer, but I am going to test it out anyway.
@@seandalt Glad I could help! I also found Adobe Bridge super useful, I was thinking of using it for a while now though I wasn't so familiar with the app, but you just convinced me, it's such a great tool. Thanks for the tips!

Lots of photographers don't watermark their work. It's common practice that as you grow watermarks disappear.
