  • DIY Tutorial on replacing the spark plugs on your car, I replaced in this Honda Accord 2003 with the k20 engine.
There are certain things that will begin to happen with your car when your spark plugs are bad or not functioning properly.
The good thing about needing new spark plugs is that they are relatively inexpensive, and super easy to replace. With that being said, you can look up how to replace them for your car and replace them yourself as a DIY project, and the entire car repair will cost you very little!
I am replacing the spark plugs in an inline four cylinder engine but the process is similar to all petrol engine cars. Changing spark plugs is a fairly simple job, however there are some tips along the way worth understanding.
There’s several things you’ll want to look for while inspecting spark plugs:
    - The electrode may be worn out, you may often see it rounded rather than flat.
    - You want to check the plug gap, using a simple tool.
    - You want to look for oil fouling or carbon deposits around the spark plug tip.
    - It’s also a good idea to inspect the gasket where the plug seals with the head, and make sure the electrode insulator is not cracked.
    - It’s important to replace the plugs with what the manufacturer recommends.
I replaced the old glow plugs with the OEM NGK recommended, and NGK recommend to not using any anti-seize compounds on the spark plugs, as the lubricant may cause the installer to over torque the spark plug.
The NGK spark plugs have a zinc shell plating that is designed to prevent seizure to the cylinder head, as well as prevent corrosion. Often spark plugs with a shiny appearance have a special coating, thus not requiring the use of anti-seize. Cheaper spark plugs with a darkened or dull appearance typically will not have a special plating, and in this case it is recommended to use anti-seize.

Hi, in this engine all four coils are same so you can change the order.

If you know the tightening torque why be lazy and overtighten them by hand? New plugs are usually hand tightened to snug then 1/4 turns if no torque wrench is available.
