  • We look at the best mods and upgrades for your Honda K20 engine. There were many K20 variants so we discuss these and the best head swaps and parts swaps.
    We also look at tuning mods from intake and exhaust, to turbo upgrades for your K20 to help you choose the best mods and avoid the common K20 tuning pitfalls.
    K20A JDM only (The VTEC comes in at 6000 rpm) The Spec R engine had a lighter flywheel, high compression pistons, stiffer valve springs and longer camshaft durations. The cylinder heads were also ported and polished and these special engines were hand tooled at the factory. They show the potential of the other engines if you take your time tuning and setting them up.

    K20A1 There was technically no A1 version - essentially it's still a K20A3 but a lower compression to handle the turbo!     I am not looking for mega power but would like to up the power on my UK accord k20.
    What are my first steps??
    Are there simple mods that can get me up towards 200 without full on crank, head change options??

      Intake, header, exhaust, underdrive pulley, and a tune should get you there

    hi, what catback would you recommend? I'm looking at tegiwas dont want anything too loud too or raspy

      I'm not familiar with Tegiwas personally, which region are you in? The best K20 I've heard had a simple cherry bomb on it and a fairly long 3 inch wide resonator in mid section, but that was pretty loud. There was also an Apexi unit, a Apexi WS muffler but they did something on the mid resonator with that.

    So what would be the first upgrade for me and my Stream V-tec?

      I would sort the suspension first, the handling can be really tightened up on those, especially as the miles start creeping up. Engine wise getting a Hondata or similar ECU upgrade/tune will give a lot more flexibility and control over the engines power. It depends very much on your budget and what your plans are for the car.

      Cheers for the tip, that one has not been on my radar here in the UK. I recently discovered them though when researching the VR5 they seem to be one of the few covering a 5 cylinder engine.
