@@cristianchinchilla8402 That's a tricky one making the K20 more modern. Theres a video on here where someone breaks down the K20 and new 1.5 turbo engine and the k20 is so much better engineered. K20 has vtec and the Rover groups cam timing feature, although it's really old it's so good and no other manufacturer has managed to build a better system that is as reliable. Alot have tried with solenoid controlled valves but it always came with problems. I think toyota or Mitsubishi did something smart with variable piston stroke, but again how long will that last. The K20 is solid if it wasn't for emissions it would still be used.
I am not looking for mega power but would like to up the power on my UK accord k20. What are my first steps?? Are there simple mods that can get me up towards 200 without full on crank, head change options?? Many thanks Craig
That's always been the problem with Honda's they are well tuned from stock, so to get more power you will have to do alot to get more from it. Is there any weight reduction you can do on the car. You should plan out what you want to do as just changing bits might have a good chance of just making it sound better but run slower. Then look at the costs and weigh it all up.
I'm not familiar with Tegiwas personally, which region are you in? The best K20 I've heard had a simple cherry bomb on it and a fairly long 3 inch wide resonator in mid section, but that was pretty loud. There was also an Apexi unit, a Apexi WS muffler but they did something on the mid resonator with that.
Cheers for the tip, that one has not been on my radar here in the UK. I recently discovered them though when researching the VR5 they seem to be one of the few covering a 5 cylinder engine.
This guy looks like Professor X so he must know a lot about rolling around and wheels.
Another awesome and informative video. Thumb's up 👍
Wow!!! You are damn good.
Excellent video! Thank you!
Great info very in depth
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the Support my friend. These are great engines, and it's no surprise that they end up in so many projects.
@@torquecars yes I have a Si with a k20 and I really want to make it better in all ways but mainly more modern and reliable

Intake, header, exhaust, underdrive pulley, and a tune should get you there

Does the k20z1 have a non-balance oil shaft from factory?
