Fulmer jackets are surprisingly good for their price. They're usually somewhere around $100-200. I got a mesh one (live in the desert, mesh is a must here) on sale for $70 as my first jacket over three years ago. Comes with tonnes of pockets, thermal liner, decent reflection, and while the armour looked like foam, it was removable so dropping an extra hundred on some proper pads still left me under $200. Just went and bought my first motojacket after spending two hours and more in the store. Men's, slightly bulky in the back (length/ass=concave), beautiful leather, sits snug otherwise, D30 back, shoulders, and elbows, vents in arm and back, pocketed and removable lining... and not branded like cattle. 300 dollars. Thank you, Ryan!
Some of these look pretty nice, but I already own the discontinued Icon Sanctuary which I bought from you guys a couple of years ago on clearance. Got a great deal for such a wonderfully protective jacket. It is however a little on the warm side when temperatures start getting into the high 20's and above and so if I buy any second jackets, it would likely be some sort of mesh jacket to use when summer is at its peak.
I wore the Rev'it Trench on a two week motorcycle tour of the Himalayas last july. Overall it was great, we had some hot weather into 40 celcius which wasn't so great but it did a good job in a range of conditions. I didn't bother with the zip in thermal just layered up underneath. I had a few small low speed offs in the dirt/streams/gravel and had no damage on the jacket. Waterproof napoleon pocket for my passport (in a ziplock too) and had the Rev'it back protector in. You can also zip in the cooling vest where the thermal zips in and it has pockets for chest protection if you want to get gnarley . I commute to work with it too and it doesn't look very biker off the bike more like a technical gore tex jacket. When you consider the features and protection and compare it to something like Arcteryx it's a bargain. Comes with the Short Zip for connecting to the Jeans belt thing or a long zip for the more technical pants they sell.

Great vid as usual, but I'm not sure how the Icon Raiden in any of its iterations didn't make the cut. Cheaper and better than anything here imo. I learned about it from watching you wear it, and it replaced my $900 Klim, as it is better in every meaningful way. Anyway, keep up the good work!

My favorite deal ever was a Tour Master Flex Series 2 Textile/Mesh Jacket for 69 Freedom smackers nearly a decade ago. Closeout deal. I bought two and still have one in reserve. My first was hundreds more back in 2008. Truly a dinosaur. It gets compliments all the time and still looks new when I use the outer rain liner.
I never pay more than $100 for jacket or pants. Great sales all the time. Icon, Fly and Rocky Mountain ATV Tusk brands. I may have to break that rule for some good boots, but my current Icon Raider boots were only $95 and are breathable, which is important in hot NM and AZ. I have noticed that if one company has it on sale (like Revzilla) they all will, but sometimes you have to move fast.

Ah, Ryan. As amusing as always. Personally there is one rule of thumb that I like to use for motorcycle gear. I do big kms/miles so I like warm stuff to keep me warm on the inside. I like breathable armour next and the waterproof stuff always on the outside. If it's freezing out there, wear all three to cut down the wind-chill factor.

Thanks dude, this is something I've been wanting to learn for a long time!

I got a 50$ half helmet I wear in the winter and when I'm forced to by commy states. But it does quite well in 4° and snow.
@@davidfellows6250 Just because you have gotten lucky does not imply you have been making the best decisions.
@@wolfmannn2008 I did.. lots.. but you can't go that fast with 125cc moped and 150cc sports bike XD
3 major incident:
1. scartched my face but somehow it leaves no mark, my face is as good as new.
2. was hard brake to avoid the ... no-so-obedient rider and by some miracle there was a pot hole in front of me, I literally flew away from my moped and rolled over 5 meter from my crashed bike and again... with some miracle.. no broken bone, only scratched my palm.. not even any scratch on any part of my body...
3. A literal full body hit from bike behind me because I avoided a car that turn without a sign lamp.
And many minor incidents...
sliding when cornering because of muds...
Beginner mistake of holding your brake and full throttle...
Get stamp on my feet with hot exhaust...
A full brake that makes my rear wheel up of almost 45 degree because some children suddenly run on the street.
And many minor incident that cannot be immagined by developed country hahha
Well... the apparel showed in this video is literally cost half of my moped hahaha...

This is the smartest motorcycle content on youtube by a country mile.
When I grow up, I want to be a horologist!
Wisdom and financial prudence wrapped up in a wonderous review of jackets that our past forgot.... Thank You!!
If that’s 5 inches I have a 3 foot wiener. Classic. Thank you for the timely video, I have been researching jackets lately. Good info.
This is just what the doc ordered, needed a good f9 review. Thanks bud
Randomly remove eyes at 60 😂
20 years ago people were arguing leather versus technical jackets. I still have my leather Kilimanjaro from '98 and I don't argue about extra armour.
fun fact: nothing is truly bulletproof, only bullet resistant up to a particular cartridge :^)
Will a 50 Cal go through tho? Just asking for an American friend...
@@generallymexican8978 congrats, you asked a stupid question. the answer is, 'it depends'
Thanks for releasing this video just after I purchased my new jacket this year
The real question is did Ryan steal 3 packs Nacho or Cool Ranch Doritos 5:58
"Cheap"
Ummmmmmmmmmmmm 🤔
just wanted to say how much I enjoy your vlogs. Watching your vlogs out of order...just saw the 'rant;'' about motorcycle journalism. I'm in the UK - I am sure you have more viewers than you think. Keep it up (ugh that sounds so patronising - its meant with the kindest thought)
...any more than a horolgist studies loose women - OMG I can't believe you said that! I almost shat myself laughing.😂
Helpful, very informative, densely packed information and humorous... Thank you for the video and greetings from germany :)
3ft LOL
nice video though, I love Rev'It Products!
2:39 thank you sir!!!! This sent me down a wonderful rabbit hole of learning these ratings and how to figure out what is what. Now that I am older and have a family and all, I have been looking into upgrading my leather to something that is more protective, but never really knew how to determine what is good and what isn't other than word of mouth or buying the most expensive thing and hoping, now I can search for a CE prEN 17092-2:2017 Class AAA certified leather jacket and know that I'm going to likely be getting the best protection and then make my best guess decision from there. Thanks dude, this is something I've been wanting to learn for a long time!
Heads up, there's no such thing as a real "bulletproof" vest. They've always been bullet resistant. Very much a misnomer
The quality of your videos are unparalleled.
This video shows that "cheap" and "expensive" are all relative terms.;))) I was expecting cheap stuff.;)))
I came across this channel after a few hours deep in RUclips and randoms vids now I’ve watch like 10, I don’t even own a bike! Good vids!!!
This dude flexing at 6'3" the whole time i am thinking 5'10" wtf🤣🤣🤣
" I have an athletic build " mate, you are also as tall as my 7 year old daughter!!
5'10"?? I'm 5'3" LOL
I'm here for the comedy gold, delivered flawlessly ... the excellent reviews and informative content are a delightful bonus
Reward $4.75. & "Vest of all." LOLOL
Bought the Icon Tarmac on your recommendation and so far it’s the best commuter jacket I’ve owned!
I ordered an all BLACK jacket. Then I ordered the same jacket in SAND for the summer. The SAND looks so beautiful in person. The pictures online don't capture the beauty. I highly recommend SAND. Plus VISIBILITY = SAFER!
The quality of your videos is unreal......love your videos
Just bought the Jaunt Jacket for winter riding and Ryan is right. They don't make them like this use to. Great quality. It's a little heavy but that's what keeps you warm. Note: It does run a little big so size down. Also, the back protector needs to be replaced but It feels like it'll last forever.
I have the same ICON tarmac as you and I was truly surprised at the quality of the jacket. In my opinion it was well worth the money spent.
