    They definitely should have used a longer axle for the jackhammer arm. Also I find it odd that his hearing implant is not on the side with the giant jackhammer.

    • @Gameprojordan
      @Gameprojordan 5 месяцев назад +29

      Realistically he wouldn't hear the jackhammer since he's both inside a sealed suit, and the environment he's in is a space vacuum. The ear device is just thrown in for mandatory diversity, not that it's a bad thing but it doesn't actually affect the set in any way aside from "hey we got a figure with a disability"

    I wish these smaller sets all had the circular attachment point so they could be lifted by the crane in the larger set (60434). Even a small inclusion like that would have helped.

    ...I think so!
    Great stuff from Lego at the £9/$10 price point again. Thanks for the review Jang.

    This is what mechs SHOULD be. Marvel and Star Wars “mechs” are not mechs. They’re just larger brickbuilt versions of the character that use the minifig as a head.

    Reminds me of Subnautica prawn suit, with the tool hand and the holding hand, how batteries are kept at the back, and the propontions, and pilot being at the torso.

    Hmm, you know, I think this set has potential for modifications.
    Buy two and combine them so the arms and legs have more articulation.
    The wheel hub at the back could be a greeble, to represent a reactor or engine for the mech.
    I think I'll get at least a few of this set.
    I've always loved the Space theme more than the other themes.

    0:58 that wheel seems to be there merely to keep the batteries at the right angle. I wonder if adding a tire will make them even less able to wiggle left and right.

  • @COUNTDOWNTOPOWER
    @COUNTDOWNTOPOWER Месяц назад

    I bought this one today and just thought I'd check out what you'd had to say about it!
    I don't regret getting it, but I think it was more of a £6.99 set ( I'm in the UK ) rather than the £8.99 I paid. I think I'd have preferred a second minifig rather than the robot - maybe one that had a few more elements of the older space themes. The guy it comes with isn't very evocative, as far as nostalgia goes, other than the old space logo.
    Or maybe get rid of the robot and make the terrain piece big enough to incorporate a small play feature?
    I don't think it's a bad set, but as an AFOL I kind of feel that LEGO has just stuck some old retro symbols on a new set with a modern figure and not tried much harder than that. It should have at least been blue, grey and transparent yellow. lol

    What if you pivot/flip the jackhammer arm around so that it is forward-up and the hammer points down? I can’t quite tell if the geometry would get it to the ground then?

    Comparing this to the mine mech from power miners absolutely shows Lego's change for the better, That set had wonky proportions cause of their oversized ball system at the time, tools that were as simple as possible cause they were using Bionicle pieces in system sets, and almost half the total part count of this one, for basically the same price!!
