  • In this video I am going to replace the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) with a Solid State Drive on an Asus X540s Laptop and also while opening it up I will also clean the CPU fan which was full of dust and clogged and in the end put everything back and install Windows 10 operating system.
This is not a disassembly video, but you can also see that the ram memory is DDR3L is soldered to the motherboard and there also few other parts that you can fix or replace like the DVD Player / Writer is being held by one screw and the Wireless card which can also be replaced really easily.
The CMOS battery is located on the back of the motherboard. This computer has an Intel Pentium n3710 which has a 4 Core and 4 Threads CPU and Intel integrated graphics card which is not the best for gaming but it works great as an office laptop.
This was a very easy upgrade and it took me no more than 10 minutes and 20 minutes to install a new operating system since I installed a SSD which boosts the battery life and the speed of this laptop.
The best about SSD's M.2 and NVME Disk drives is that it makes the battery last way longer than with the old mechanical disk drives and the prices are now are really cheap this 120GB Netac SSD costed me $15 and I intend to buy a USB 3.0 external HDD case for the 1TB mechanical hard disk drive.
Thanks for watching and have a nice day.

Hi, thanks for the video. Is that a 2.5" SSD?
