      No, there are no remotely modern laptops with socketed processors. Sorry.

    hello sir. I was wondering if x540UA can have a hdd ssd combo, and if not what should I choose for. Even though ssd is much faster it is more expansive and have less storage. (ssd are way too expansive than hdd in my country )
    I am planning to game on this laptop (old games). and also planning to use drawing software like clip studio paints.

    I have a Asus Vivobook X540MA and would like to know where the CMOS battery is located, I have opened the vivobook but can not locate the CMOS battery. "help"

    • @JodyBruchon
      @JodyBruchon  2 года назад +1

      Motherboards like this with "sealed system" battery packs that the user can't normally replace tend to not have CMOS batteries. They use the battery pack as the CMOS battery too. Even a fully depleted Li-ion battery puts out enough current to power the CMOS/clock part of the chip. You need to detach the board and battery pack for a while, most likely. Also, sometimes CMOS batteries are very small and are soldered to the board, not big obviously removable packs with wires and a connector.

    My ASUS X540S doesn't have a slot to upgrade RAM what should I do?

    • @JodyBruchon
      @JodyBruchon  2 года назад +1

      There's nothing to be done. If the slot is missing, you have to replace the entire PC to get more RAM.

      I haven't owned this in a long time but the RAM is upgradable and any DDR3 laptop RAM should work. It's old enough that it doesn't require DDR3L.
