Just finished sewing a simple zippered sling bag for my daughter albeit with dented zipper ends and kicking myself for not coming across this video before starting off. I'm so grateful to you for sharing this golden tip of not topstitching end to end. I will start a new sling bag tomorrow and use your trick. Million thanks to you. I feel like I have uncovered a gold mine today, by subscribing to your channel.
I use a plain old school drawing compass and pencil to draw circles. Costs very little, can get them anywhere that sells basic school supplies and easy to set to anything up to a 6" circle, (1 1/4" radius gives a 2 1/2 inch diameter circle). You don't need a specialist punch tool unless you want loads of the same size ready cut for patchwork. Got to say though your videos are amazing, as a slightly dyslexic sewer I do much better with visual rather than written instructions and yours are very straight forwards and clear, with no annoying music or waffle. I understood this project technique immediately from your description and demonstration because they were so clear. Thank you.
You are absolutely the best teacher!! You explain every step patiently and perfectly. What I especially love is that you don’t just tell us what to do, you explain WHY! That’s incredibly helpful. I’m so happy I found your channel!!
Wow. You have taken the impossible out of sewing this bag. I can see how to either make this a wristlet or a crossbody bag with d-rings on each side. Thank you so much.
Absolutely the Best Teacher!! U explain everything so plain & simple.. I have made some of your bags but I did do some of my own changes only because I goofed on your way of doing. It turned out OK anyway, Thank you for sharing👍❤️
Thank you. It seems so confusing but step by step watching you it comes together even if I don't see how yet. Your fabrics and colors are so pretty. I'll have you walk me thru this again when I make one. It will make perfect gifts.
Ooooh this looks complicated, but you explained and showed so well. I will attempt this one day. I would like it for myself . Very nice pouch....🌹❤️🌹❤️
Wow! I have learned so much in this tutorial, I had the problem with the zipper endings I did not know what to do. Now I'm ready to sew. Muchas gracias. Thank you so much.
Fantastic tutorial. I've been looking for a double zip bag and thankfully ran across this one. I would buy the pattern if you had one. I don't particularly care for watching videos while sewing. Just a personal preference. Thank you for your great tutorial. You would make a wonderful instructor.
Thank you for this video. I love the little tips and tricks I learned such as rounding the corners (instead of the old standby of boxing the corners) and how to keep bulk out of the seam allowance. Wonderful teaching.
Rosie, i haven't made this project, but used your method for installing the zipper in some pouches I made. It makes such a difference and gives a reallybprofessional finish. Thank you so much. Best wishes, Alison
EXCELLENT!!! Your teaching is so perfect. Many years ago I had a purchased purse I loved and carried it for years. I wore it out so since I could not find a duplicate, I decided to replicate it. Of course, it was a double zipper pouch like this one. Had no idea how to put the two together so I fabric glued them. Wish I had this video back then!!! Rosie, you are an excellent teacher. Thank you for all your informative videos.
I have been eyeing off this pattern for a while and have just got around to creating a pencil case 13" x 10" using these easy to follow instructions. I also made the triangle pouch to hang off the side. Thanks, Rosie, for your easy to follow instructions. Loved your zipper ideas on both those projects.
Thank you so much for this video! You are an excellent teacher! I’ve watched more sewing RUclips videos than I can count but this is the most detailed and well explained that I’ve seen. I will be watching your other videos and hope you continue making more.
When you started cutting that window I was like.. "OMG, she's cutting it up! That's the exterior fabric!". You made something complicated very doable, such a fantastic teacher. Thank you.
Thank you! If you have ever made a bag, it is exactly the same way you would make the window for a pocket. Once you sew in the pocket facing and turn it through the window, you have the right side of the fabric exposed to sew on. Really a very simple technique.
This was quite a production. Not sure I have the patience to try. But it helps for attaching the tab with a d ring and wristlet. I’m really impressed with your finished product.👍👍👍👍😘
Thank you for your video which I found in my search for sewing zips a lot better. So was grateful to find my zip questions answered, but also a total bonus of learning how to do a double pouch with such clear instruction. Many thanks for all of that.
What a great pouch this is. This jut has to go into my saved folder. You always make your videos easy to follow. A first time sewer to do this and learn so much from you. good Job. Now to watch some more of your videos. Stay safe.
Wow. I always wonder how two zippers pouch are connected. Now I know, at first I thought am I doing this right following all the step? It turned out I did finish it. Very nice pouch specially the zipper part. Thanks Rosie and God bless! :-)
Love, love, LOVE your method for not having dented sides. Thank you so much. I have just found your channel , am binge watching your tutorials and have subscribed . Thank you so much, you are an excellent instructor!
Thank you for all your kind comments. I am glad you are enjoying the videos and thank you for subscribing. I truly do appreciate it!! Have fun sewing!!
Ok this tutorial is the bomb! Ive always been fascinated by these pouches but nvr could figure out how it was made & thought it would be too hard. Watching this video I was amazed at how bizarre yet simple it is. You did such a fantastic job! Cant wait to try this out
This has to be my favourite pouch making video ever. I made this project months ago, (it was ok except my zip gets caught on the top edge). It has taken me months to find this video again and I’m so happy I have - now I can make a perfect one! Many thanks for being a fab teacher 🤩
I've carried my bags outside at 47 degrees below zero -- northern Ontario Canada -- and have NEVER seen my Frixion pen markings return due to cold. THIS IS A MYTH
A very clever pattern. It was like watching a mystery waiting to see what would happen with that window. I love the nice squared off ends of the zips too. I am sure that I need to try this pattern, it will make a lovely Christmas gift.
One of the best tutorials I’ve watched. Considering this pattern is a bit complicated, there is no confusion because your instructions are so clear. Subscribed!
Hi Rosie. I just found this tutorial and decided i had to make this pouch. I love it! I will be watching your other tutorials and trying the projects! Thank you!
Great tutorial! Best I’ve seen for making zipper bags. Very ingenious bags! Thank you for the time and effort it took to make this clear and detailed video.
❤ thank you so very much for the excellent instruction. I'm so pleased to have found you on here, you explain everything so well & great video, I'm very much a visual learner & this was wonderful for me to be able to actually finish a project & one I will be making again. Thank you thank you. 😊
I love this! I'm going to make this for my prismacolor colored pencil set, and make 4 sections to divide my pencils by colors. (Reds, blues, blacks and browns, yellows). I take them to hospital with me to distract me from stress and pain and this is perfect for that!
Awesome video. I have seen others that dont do the window. I am trying to understand how this works differently but can't get my head around it. But no matter because yours comes together brilliantly and I love the side tab. I WILL be following your tutorial. I love your videos. No nonsense, clear, concise, and useful. Keep them coming!
Karen, I agree with everything that you said above. I also, don't really understand the window part of the tute. The tute was very clear. Thank you, Rosie.
Thank you! This method is easier because you can sew each side of the pouch by just folding the opposite pouch out of the way like you see in the video. It is much less cumbersome to do.
I came back to see if this would allow to have a pocket between the zippered pouches. Do you have a tute for a double zip with a pocket between rather than closed? Pretty please😃😃. Even tho this could be complicated, your clear teaching style makes your projects do-able.
Unfortunately, the way this pattern is constructed, it does not lend itself to a pocket between the two compartments. You can add a pocket inbetween if you are using the more traditional method of construction for this type of bag.
thank you for the easy to follow instructions. good method and i love the little pouches. they make great gift bags for my friends filled with manicure goodies.
Fab tutorial! I have struggled with zips and you have explained brilliantly how to do it properly. The bag is fab too. Wasn't sure what the window was for until you turned it out. It's like magic 😁
As everyone has already said, you are a wonderful teacher! I have never tried a double pouch like this but am definitely going to try one, and I just love the no-dent sides! I did subscribe before, thank you for another great tutorial.

Same here! I am a beginner sewer and this nearly gave me a heart attack! It’s like magic.
