- Ever wondered how to make your own Nintendo 64 reproduction cartridges? Now you can, and it’s easier than you might expect! You could be playing romhacks, fan-translations, and obscure titles within minutes with this new tech. Thanks for watching!
Head over to RetroStage’s website to get your own N64 Blaster and Retro Blaster Programmer: retrostage.net/
They also sell all 5 CIC chips, and the translucent cartridge cases seen in this video. :)
Check out John Riggs!: / riggstalgic
Animal Crossing English Rom: For legal reasons I cannot directly link to any game roms, and you should always own the game in question if you plan to use a rom/emulation. That being said, if you are interested in the specific build of Animal Crossing which bypasses the N64 internal clock, you will likely need to search for something like “Everdrive 64 compatible Animal Forest”. Please be aware that the game may need a donor EEPROM to save progress.

Thanks for watching, everyone! What games/translations/romhacks would you like to see on a real cartridge? :)
Nintendrew Hey Nintendrew!!! :) I havent heard from you in a while. ;( Anyways, do you like Rugrats?
Oh sure, I've watched my fair share of Nick/CN cartoons haha
Nintendrew Awesome!!! :) Also I loved this video!!! 👍 I drew Tommy and Chuckie from Rugrats for a video on my RUclips and if you like, you can go check it out! :) You seem big as DanTDM or PewDiePie for some reason! XD
Is there a SNES version?
Nintendrew SUPER RELEASIO 64!!!!!!!!PLS!!!!!!!
Finally, I can get my own copy of Waluigi's Taco Stand.
Same here
And the pricey box!
Should've been your personalized copy of sm74

Wow
Thanks for the love! Yeah, fun stuff, for sure.
John Riggs: RIGG'd Games I love your channel
I’m subscribing to you and Nintendrew
If he didn't shout you out I was going to 😂🤣😂
Really hope this encourages people to make more n64 rom hacks and translations.
Exactly!! Mario Paint can be real!
Chaz Peddicord maybe even homebrews
I'd like at least more compatibility fixes
Therix where? ?????
I wanna hack Majora's Mask but I don't have a computer
Oh cool so now I can sell bootlegs to Retro Game Stores.
So they think they're getting Super Mario 64 but they're actually getting Bowser's Dank Rave Party 3.
LeoYoshi54321 I wouldn’t even be mad.
I just died
Much better than SM64 tbh
good
I'lL tAkE yOuR eNtIrE sToCk
Imagine doing this with a creepypasta romhack and selling it on an alley at night.
Damn.
You shouldn't have done that.
*HELL YAH*
"Without further ado"
>immediately shows ten second intro
>and then does a shoutout
That is so cool! :D
Nathaniel Bandy Hey Fellow Nintendo Dude! Sup? :)
I would finish my comment but I'm fainti...
Now we can play Super fidget spinner 64 on a real n64! ;D
Nathaniel Bandy YO!!!
Hey
Great job as always Drew! Keep up the great work, The topics you choose for your videos and how you go about explaining and breaking it down is always well done.
Neat! I might need to try this one day instead of buying repros of rom hacks online :P
I always wanted a copy of animal forest. I never actually bothered to look up any gameplay of it. I'm amazed at the graphics on it for an n64 game.
I've only watched a couple of this guys vids but he has terrific production quality, fairly entertaining/relative content, and far from the worst personality/presence. I think he deserves a lot more subscribers.
Keep it up. Subscribed
This guy makes great content. I'm glad his channel is growing
MrGencyExit64 *15
All of this is totally keeping the N64 legacy and classic timeless games alive. LOVE IT!!!!
Oh hey I just found your channel. Im just starting with RUclips so channels like yours are a huge inspiration for me
I'm usually all for trying to get the original equipment above all else, but this is a great option if you want to play fan translations or super rare and expensive games that you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on without using an everdrive. Really good stuff my man, you just earned a new sub. :)
I found out in the description there's one for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Now I can play Sonic 3 Complete on real hardware!
Where do you get the Sega Genesis one? I can't find it on the website.
Yeah, when I went there it said those were coming soon.
Or the Mortal Kombat Trilogy thing that was made for Genesis.
The SNES Man
Sonic 3 Complete is a rom Hack.
An amazing rom Hack.
*crazy bus*
always find myself comin’ back to your channel, Nintendrew! Thanks a bunch for the top tier content 🙏🏻
Whenever I click on one of your videos without reading the channel name I always for a split second think you're ChadTronic.
I've been looking for a place that sells translucent green cartridges for years... Thank you so much for the link to this store. I have shed a tear of joy!
Awesome, this would be great for when Banjo-Kazooie Returns comes out.
I had no idea this was a thing. My life just got 30 percent better.
Miles Away I find you again wow
And then Valkyrie finds me in a random comment section
Them games dont work with that PCB matter of fact no hacks work on those mybe 1 hack .N64 has 4MB to start with so the Expansion adds another 4MB making the console use a total of 8MB) the extra Ram is only accessed if instructed to do so, while alot of hacks work anyway on the N64 some don't because the ROM was expanded and the console can't load all the data even with the extra ram... forget retrostage should get New N64 programmer/PCB's coming very soon these are much cheaper an can hold up to 512mbit memory (64mb) www.mortoffgames.com/files/TheN64projectbyRetroCircuits.pdf
This demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of how the N64 works. Alternatively, you may not be as clear as you intend, in which case, I apologize if I misunderstood.
First, yes - the N64 has a maximum of 8MB of RAM. However, the games are not 'loaded' into RAM in order to run; because cartridges are essentially daughterboards interfacing directly with the N64 hardware, the ROM data is accessed directly. The RAM is for loading things like textures, which is why we'll never see a truly impressive HQ mod capable of running on real hardware - the N64 simply can't handle the data throughput required. *thoughtfully* Though I do wonder whether 8MB is the actual limit for the N64 architecture - if not, it may be possible for fans to create expanded RAM carts to ALLOW things like HQ mods. Hmm...
Secondly, most ROM hacks are tested on emulators, which work on a sort of "good-enough" mentality. Emulators aren't designed to 100% accuracy to the hardware they emulate, and just because it runs on an emulator, doesn't mean it will run on real hardware.
you have 1 of the best and most unique game room setup tastefully done and clean. especially the mag rack please do a tour
Sweet! Now i can get my games back that where stolen by my little sisters friends.
Super smash bros., starfox64 and mario kart 64
Pay backs a bitch

I just remembered this video because I was thinking it would be pretty sweet to have my own copy of Smash Remix to play wherever. Now this video will be helpful 👀
Im loving these N64 videos dude, keep em up! also you got me wanting to try this out so bad, ill have to look into it : )
Thats awsome you gave credit to the man that introduced you to it. It shows class. RETRO FOR LIFE!!!!
Great vids like always. I love your 64 vids. so much nostalgia.
This is the Half Assed Approach to Foundation Repair of RUclips gaming tutorial videos.
I went to the website to buy one, it says discontinued. New version coming soon. I hope so. I want one.
Country Lyricist its back with new one
Man, you deserve so many more subs... you upload quality vids
So where did you get the colored casing from?
Same site! They sell purple and blue cases for $5 each. :)
Thanks! Might want to add it to the description or something though... :p
Yeah, good point
where can i buy those colored cartridges? thanks
Didt you read comment above yours he said Same site! They sell purple and blue cases for $5 each.
>Gets an ad before video
>It’s PS4
*goes to Burger King*
Yeah can I get a fuckin’ uhhhhhhhhhhh BIG MAC?
Discovered your channel today. Been watching for hours now, amazing content, subscribed. Keep up the good work!
if anyone else was wondering, you DO NOT need to get a CIC chip. Its bult in now ig
Great, time for eBay to make "authentic" N64 games
Hey, if i find conkers bad fur day repro that looks identical to the real one,im buying it
Double points for Animal Forest! I've always wanted a physical cartridge.
Is there any way to solve this problem? Some cartridge that has the internal clock... I don't know...
Animal Forest is the only N64 game that utilized an internal clock. So you can’t just gut one from another cartridge.
I need this in my life.
Man, i didn't know that something like this actually existed, incredible
Sorry...got distracted by all the cool stuff in the background!
I'm not sure how i got here from vice news , but I'm not complaining! This is cool great video
nintendrew you're the best u should have a let's play channel
Peter Kazavis I agree.
Rather than simply getting games into a Repro, I'd love to make a full fledged Nintendo 64 game and put that game on a cartridge using this method. That would be insanely cool.
Why is this unlisted?
Thanks for the heads up 😜

The n64 is the best
Hey Nintendrew
you are so professional about technology and nice to meet you :)
I swear to god, if the "Notification Squad" comes I'll lose it.
Miles Away Notification squad where u at
Let's bring in the ENTIRE NOTIFICATION UNION.
I wish this was in stock. I made a bunch of repro n64 boxes and would love carts too
Only worth it, if you can put more than one rom per cartridge, might as well just get the everdrive 64
Dang, sounds cool! Great video by the way!
Hey Nintendrew!!! :) Do you like Rugrats?
Good to know. I get to play awesome ROMs on my system just from this programmer! Great video!!
"Since then" Yup you started the craze definitely hasn't been rampant all over Ebay for the last 5-6 years.
Tgis is cool. I’m curious if GameCube games can be done like this and work with the n64
Bro with these tips this man gotta start a gaming channel
This is a pretty cool thing. 90% of the games originals are cheaper so kinda has limited uses but still interesting
Hey Drew sorry I’m a year plus late but I just tripped upon your YT page thanks for the great video it’s very simple and easy to follow and Repros are something that I’ve been debating getting into. I made sure to hit that subscribe button and I look forward to more your videos!
Great production quality. Keep it up
first time I've ever heard of Nintendrew. Subscribed instantly after watching this. pretty cool stuff!
I LOVE my N64! By far the best Nintendo system I've ever bought. I still have my original one from back in the 90's, how ever it died and i bought a new one in the early 2000's(still got that one too). Plus i also have my brothers from when he was younger .... I have all of my games from the 90's, my brothers games, and the games that we're at my Grandma's house(recently acquired those) plus a few others that I've bought online recently ..... Favorite Game = 007 GoldenEye
Now I can make a legit cartridge for Super Mario 420. Just what I needed in my life.
Me using this to make a reproduction cartridge of Smash Remix: (Laughs maniacally) FINALLY!
I subscribed as soon as I saw that dope magazine shelf haha
This earned you a subscriber, sir! Interesting process indeed!
Great gaming room. I love the magazine rack you have, need to set something similar up!
Now I can put my Wolfenstein 64 homebrew onto a cartridge and play it on my N64!
This was made on my birthday! Also this youtube video is good as allways
Your setup makes me wish I kept my Nintendo Power magazines...
i miss my n64 😢 so many memories
Though it's an expensive process, it also looks fun
SUBSCRIBED!!! Definitely gonna buy the blaster to make some physical rom hacks!
Imagine making your own games and blasting them into the N64 to see how they’d work in the format-
Awesome tip! Thank you for sharing! All the items seem pretty affordable for this project. :D
Holy shit my prayers have been answered, now I can make home brew games!
Awesome video and soon in the future I can not wait for n64dd disk games too if possible
Basically impossible. At least for repros. You could take a cheaper game and make it more expensive, but buying new diskettes? Impossible. Literally impossible. Also much like writing to N64 dev carts it’d muck up preservation, which is a big no-no.
Very cool stuff. A few days ago I stumbled across the video John Riggs put made about them, but I haven't been able to find what the game compatibility is like compared to something like the Everdrive 64.
As far as I can tell, it's nearly identical. :) There's a 32MB rom size limit, but otherwise I haven't found anything that doesn't work on the blaster board that does work on the ED.
That's awesome, thanks for the reply! I'm definitely going to get one and try it out then!
your magazine rack is so freakin cool
I love this channel
You showed a dreamcast in your opening so I subscribed
Seems like an cheaper alternative for flashcards. I like it
I'd like to put the recently released Dragon sword 64 beta rom onto a cart. This is really neat.
Appears to be a great product and a lot less hassle than other options, but MAN it's spendy. $52.50 for the programmer, $28 for the Blaster and $6 for the casing. That's $86.50 to be able to essentially play a ROM on a standard N64.
Its all extremely expensive for no reason. Especially those cartridges. Other Repro cartridge manufacturers (GBA specifically) charge $5-$15 for a cart. He charges $30. And all readers are cheaper too. Those GBA carts even work with Pokémon and RTC, his never could.
@@nine1690 There is one plus with the latest update, you no longer have to select/set the CIC chip/pins and they moved the battery to the front so the board will now fit inside an OEM Case. You can repurpose an OEM case from a dirt cheap sports game.
Thanks! Now I can play B3313 on an actual cartridge and have the full creepypasta experience!
I think it would be better to buy the Everdrive 64, unlees you wanna do all this process for just one game. Loved the video!
You rock man! Thanks for making a video on this!
Cool video! You got yourself a new sub!
thanks for letting me know how to put a nintendo 64 game i made on a nintendo 64 cartridge
This video was uploaded on my birthday of last year.
If i had this and if I was older enough to understand this, I would put a Rayman prototype rom on a Super NES cartridge!
Another method would be to get an N64 Flash Cart, that allows you to put multiple ROMs on one cartridge.
I enjoy how when you trying to write to the N64 cartridge you have to do Initialize, Erase, Write, Disconnect and they are in positions 1, 3, 2, 4. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to be in positions 1, 2, 3, 4? Obviously not a problem for you to fix but I still find it funny.
Well this is AMAZING!
Now I can write translated roms and play them on N64!

That helps me a lot, i'm going to do this on a Creepypasta theme mario 64 that simpleflips played, and sold to some stranger XD

Finally I can play that classic game catastrophe crow
Oh WOW ! That sounds sooo cool !!
Thank you for opening my eyes to this, am I able to write my own code and make my own games with this?
Yes
That is super cool. Great video
Finally, I can get my own copy of B3313 1.0
i don't think it works on real n64 hardware, but i could be wrong.
