It seems like people who work with making VST's have no idea how to showcase them. It's the same with game companies that promote their new game with a cinematic without showing any gameplay footage at all. It seems companies have absolutely no idea what customers want. Even if the sound in the background is produced with this little vibrato plugin, how is the customer supposed to understand that? Aesthetically pleasing trailer, but it doesn't reach the producers. Some other channel named "Daw Hack" understands exactly what people want to see. Not some bohemian interior design crash course in after effects, just pure showcase of the damn plugin!

I just got the free promo copy and still have no idea what it's for. Going to read the docs later. Lol.

Why did I end up with downloads i didn't ask for like Gorilla manager and Code meter runtime?

Hey, as part of the installation process for all of our software, the programs Codemeter and Gorilla Manager will be installed on your device.
For your Rhodes plugins to work properly, both of these applications must be running in the background. These are lightweight applications that place little or no demands on your computer and store all information locally (no personal data is transmitted to the cloud).

Why is the download half a gig? That's an awfully big file for a vibrato effect

Because it also downloaded a bunch of crap it didn't warn you about like Gorilla Manager

@@rhodesmusic Thank you for reply. I've already done that, but unfortunately I haven't received a response yet.

So it seems like simply a vibrato waveshaper, and based on previous comments requires software in the background to even run. For something as generic, it seems a big tradeoff. All these plugins with "background" apps add up.

This is just a paid PanCake 2
Get PanCake 2, it's completely free and even more flexible than this because you can draw your own automation shapes instead of picking from a select few

Massive download for an effect achievable with stock plugins. Crashed Pro Tools on launch. Useless.

I guess it's the V-PAN component (effect) of the Rhodes Mk8 keyboard, but made independent so you can apply it to all the instruments in your DAW. I agree it could have been presented better, so you can decide whether you want to try it out. It seems Rhodes' V-RACK also includes V-PAN but other effects as well. I guess the effects boards from the Rhodes Mk8 but to be applied on any instrument you select inside your DAW. But no guarantees, I haven't tried it myself yet. ;-)
