In my opinion, if he had lived to be a hundred, it still would have been too soon for us all. To be remembered as a great artist is one thing, but to be remembered as a decent, loving, generous human being is far more rare and precious. Thanks for having been here, Robin.

A person that brought so much laughter and happiness to the world couldn't find any of it in his own life. Never underestimate the power of depression. RIP
+felix the cat Sure, he had depression, and I've seen evidence that he was long predisposed to take his own life. But were he still alive, he'd be institutionalized with diffuse Lewy Body Dementia(which oftentimes is not properly diagnosed until an autopsy is performed)and only a few years left to live. His widow showed four doctors his post mortem information and they concurred that he had one of the worst cases of LBD they had ever seen. But many have responded by donating to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org) in his name. Given that he was a great humanitarian, he would most likely be raising funds for research of that disease were he alive and lucid.

I can’t even imagine his sadness, confusion and panic. 💔💔 He was an imperfect, funny and beautiful person. Rest in paradise Robin.

I heard it was like a switch. Those who really knew him would see the depressed Robin. Then it was like flipping a switch on and the one we all knew was there.
Everyone Robin Williams met - he gave them everything he had in his heart of joy and laughter. If I knew he was suffering, I would have died giving him back all the love and joy he gave us....because his living soul made this dark world a better place. I pray Robin Williams finds the peace he deserves in Heaven.
Now that you know how much he was suffering, will you give back to others who suffer much like him? Not to be mean, but probably not.
Elizabeth Barry I think any decent person would do anything they could to help someone they know is suffering. Unfortunately people who suffer depression are often masters at hiding it and no one is the wiser until it is too late
Yep, we are. We are sick and tired of the yoyo effects of the illness. Back and forth from wellness to self hatred and how we must be punishing those we love with the wretched illness which racks or minds ever effin day. We hide it because the pain is horrible. When people ask you , how are you? they don't really mean it, because once you tell them, they often excuse themselves. There is absolutely nothing you or anyone else can do to cure Robin, or me and others like me. Sure you can talk, but that is only a temporary "treatment", not a cure.
If there is a heaven, it would be Robin that makes it joyful.

this is a good good memory to keep of him. what he was on and off camera. there will NEVER be anyone like him. very unique style of comedy and relentless the minute the camera starts rolling.
"We were always left wanting more." That's how I feel everytime I watch him, even today. Missing Robin!
People like Robin aren't meant to spend too much time with us mere mortals... He has plans elsewhere. We should just be thankful for the time he did spend with us. You are forever missed Mr. Williams, and the void you left here will never be filled.

I think I watched about half of this then when they turned the Cameras off I started Crying I Couldn't watch anymore he was such a Good-Man... Heart of Gold... He left us all too soon. Miss You, Robin....

Me too. My niece's husband was an Army Ranger platoon leader in Iraq when Robin came to visit, and he didn't just do a show. He went around the base meeting people for hours before, and when he showed up where Mark's platoon was, a PFC ran to his office telling him to come see, because Robin Williams was there. Mark said no - he would see him at the show - he was here for the men. The PFC left, and shortly after, Robin was at Mark's office. According to Mark, he started out joking - "What's the matter chief? Officers don't laugh? Oh, wait, I get it - not in front of the men." Then he got serious - "Son, I know you're trying to put your men first, and I admire that. But you're what? 22? 24 years old? Away from your wife and family, and being shot at everyday. Come have fun with us - it's OK to let them see that you're human, they won't respect you less." To this day, Mark, now a Major, says it was the best leadership advice he ever got.

Most bizzare thing for me is that he felt like part of my family, some distant relative you would see at Weddings and so on and always have people laughing.
Many well known people have passed away that I looked up to, but Robin is the only one that actually hurts, even after these years I still get choked up, for me he has been there through my life, I grew up along side him, early days in TV and then movies.
It is in someway a bit of a shame as I dont think many people understood how good he was until his passing, his energy, look on life, comedy talents and acting, so much focus on entertaining others and making them laugh even though he was suffering himself.
Would have loved to have met him, even if to shake his hand and say "thank you"

I would of sold my soul to spend ONE HOUR with Robin Williams :( He was and always will be my favorite Actor and Comedian. Nobody could make me smile like Robin did. Its going to be 3 yrs this year and I still miss Robin every day and cry when I think that we will never get to see him anymore with new stuff :(

Thank You-For Remembering the comedic genius and giving insight to this personality that America remembers......The dreams of seeing a Mrs. Doubt Fire 2 have faded. Only the joys of seeing him on film can at least give some of us a sense of reality with a lot of laughter when a day is done......and I thank Mr. Williams for that much in our world today.

I absolutely disagree - the world does not feel darker. Robin left us with his light in abundance, but most of us refuse to actually learn from other's light, joy and wisdom - instead people wallow in self pity and just crave and demand more and more from others to entertain and amuse them endlessly instead of taking the hint and understanding their own selves more deeply and life's nature of constant change as well as the fact that we all have to tap into our own talents for helping others instead of becoming nothing but consumers.
Robin didn't want to have to live with a rapidly degenerating brain/mind as disease began to affect it strongly. I don't blame him, and in any case we all have to die eventually. Robin was a flawed human being, like we all are, but the light of joy and wisdom that often shone from him is within us all. That's the point, but we can't tap into that light without facing ourselves (and life) as we actually are, rather than endlessly hiding from our true selves in all manner of forms of fiction, ideologies, hypnoses, artificial identities, constant demand for more pleasures, materialism, leaders and so on.
Have you seen a TV movie about how the Mork & Mindy TV show was made? Actor Chris Diamantopolous plays Robin. He does a very good impression but you can tell he can't top Williams. It's impossible.
This man was my childhood, I've never met him...still put a pit in my stomach knowing he was soo unhappy. Thankyou Robbin, your missed.

A man who made millions laugh with his comedic genius died sad & alone stripped of who robin williams was. A tragic end for a colorful human being, he will be missed. Some times i wonder what he thought in final moments before he left a void in the world. Guess god needed him more :-(
