I had asthma and allergies for 40+ years. Sometimes extremely chronic and caused bad insomnia at night. I knew dust affected me. Was hospitalized with bronch. pneumonia as a child. Eventually my primary care doc gave my Advair, Qvar, Albuterol etc.... Went to allergist and pomologist and did sleep study. The allergist told me I was allergic to dust mites. This helped me to some degree as I was able to mitigate the effects somewhat (mattress cover, Hepa Vacuum, Air purifier). I told the allergist that I thought certain foods contribute to my asthma (loved and ate a lot of "healthy cereals" such as granola, raisin brand, wheat brand, organic cereal). The allergist insisted that foods to not contribute to asthma and wanted to put me on prilosec. Luckily I knew better. Do not get stuck on an acid blocker long term.
My sleep and asthma got worse and worse. The absolute game saver for me which probably saved my life was buying The Paleo Cure book by Chris Kresser, a functional doctor. I did an elimination diet (as described in the book) and cut out all processed foods, all grains, pasta, sugar, fake foods, all low fat foods, added health fats (olive oil, avacados etc.... Slowly re-introduced some foods. Fortunately, I always like healthy real foods, but I was just never fully educated about the bad foods. Eat only real foods that God put on earth, no food-like substances. God did not create a Dorito/Pringles Tree... Slowly and slowly I got better and within a year was off asthma meds. Changing my diet, adding probiotics and trying to control indoor toxins solved my asthma after 40+ years of suffering. I still carry an inhaler (as a binky), but use it less than 5 times a year (mostly preventatively if I am sick). I truly hope others can be helped by my experience as I wish I knew 40 + years ago what I know now. You can solve the problem by finding the root cause. Wishing you the best.💜
Man I have dust mite allergy too, which by the doctors opinion caused my asthma. I have smoked for five years too, but I quit before I got my symptoms. It probably helped me to develop asthma. But I am only 23 now and have been suffering for the last 2 years very much. The very specific problem I have is that I cannot stand chemical smells. Especially perfumes, cigarette smoke, any other smoke. I do not visit my UNI classes no more because of perfumes and fragrances. They worsen my asthma so much and cause air being trapped in my lungs. So many sleepless nights and ruined days of my prime youth. Dust allergy also inflammed my upper throat, so I have sore throat 80% of the time. And if I catch a cold it can on for weeks. It is a curse and it totally killed my social life and even caused a break up with my girlfriend. She said she cannot live with me like that anymore. That almost destroyed me and put me thru hell and huge depression. I may have developed a bit of psychosomatic disorder, but I know it is not just that. I simply be rather left alone at home with my family than go out and come back half-suffocated because of the smells, cig smoke etc. I am on immunotherapy now, but since it takes 3-5 years to take affect, I also must optimize all other realms of health. I’ve had asthma since age 2. My experience closely mirrors yours, funny. Starting down the medical path as a kid, finding it to be a dead end, and in my 30s asthma came back and now I’m like you -working to reduce stress, great diet, anti-inflammatory herbs and teas, learning to nose breath, exercise. Breathing exercises may actually be the most potent thing for me, especially Paul Sorvino’s 10-minute asthma routine. Thank you for this video. Ironic that you’re also a doctor.
Thank you so much for this! I suffered with asthma off and on since my twenties. I'm on a vegan diet and when I was eating only whole, organic vegan foods and running for exercise, I was in the best health of my life. Asthma was non-existent. Now I'm still on a vegan diet, but I don't eat as healthy and eat some of the packaged vegan foods instead of whole foods and I'm feeling the difference. I'm also not in the best shape I used to be and not exercising regularly. My asthma is now back and this is a wake up call. This video and these posts are truly giving me hope. After I contacted covid last year I now have severe asthma and it has been the scariest time of my life. Hi Jennifer. Have just read your message on RUclips. I Fully understand just how Yes really scary asthma can be. I have been rushed to hospital twice, the first time lasted 13 days. I was in a bad way. So I do understand how you have felt. I have been very interested in How asthma starts. What and How! For me it has been I believe Trauma due to a car crash in Perth Aussie, and Very High stress also much later 1990’s. Phew! BUT I say in life… Never give in and never Ever give up. Because my beliefs are There is A cure for Everything. Today Scientists May say NO. But Tomorrow, they say WE HAVE FOUND THE CURE. They do, And will on All medical problems. Things that help me. Get help from family / friends / doctors to Heal from Stress. Love thy SELF More, even A Lot More. It does Help. Looking in the mirror Each day a few times and Saying…. I AM COMPLETELY HEALD, and Repeat. It does help A LOT. Because sicknesses INSIDE US don’t like Being Kicked OUT OF US. Asthma Hates DUST / AND COLD Temperatures IT DOES NOT LIKE. A great help is SYMBICORT. That is a Powder Inhaler. Sublutimul does nothing for me. Prayers I always say each day, as is said, Keep praying UNTILL something happens. My tested remedy for Asthma , wheezing etc. Ginger 25 gms. garlic 25 gms. mint leaves one bunch and one lemon . Blend all these together in a blender add in a pot and add two litres of water. Boil it for half and hour. Cool down and sieve it. Take half cup Luke warm adding one teaspoon of honey. Usually once a day clears problem in four to five days, but if it is severe then take twice to thrice a day.
My advice (I am not a doctor) 1. Find what precisely is causing your asthma to get worse. Cold air? Cat? Dust? Fix that first. 2. Run just above your tolerance level. It can even be few seconds. Then, if possible give your body some time (in my case 30-45 minutes ) to get breathing back to normal. Of course if things are bad take inhaler. But the more you exercise lungs the better it gets.
I am 57 living in NYC and I have really bad asthma from 5 years of age. I am on rescue inhaler daily, singulair, and even prednisone every few days for years now. I have been on Dupixen, Tezspire, and another biologic I cannot recall, nothing helped. I noticed as long as I am outdoors I am okay, yet I have moved at least 10 times and also moved to different states. The dryer the climate the better I felt. Yet, any apartment that had a damp musty smell was poison to me so it must be mold yet mold is everywhere but more concentrated indoors so hard to escape and allergy shots only made me worse. At one point I slept in my large SUV on a camping mattress for 1 year and I was okay there. I decided to visit Phoenix AZ and here is what I found very interesting. For the first 2 weeks I was very very sick, I was actually worse! I coughed and wheezed and I even slept outside on the balcony for relief. Then, after 2 weeks when I was going to return home my Asthma improved dramatically and within a few days I was off all my meds. In addition, something else happened. My mental clarity improved dramatically. Work that took weeks to finish now only took a few days. I felt like I was in my 20's gain. Sadly, an unwilling wife kept me in NYC and now at 57 I am at a point where I can barely work, barely sleep, and I just want to run away. I am trying to hang on 3 more years to retire but I do not know if I can. I will try some of the things suggested here.
Why wouldn’t she move for your health..well..until you retire..maybe you can recreate the atmosphere in a room in your house as it would be in Arizona?..
I'm in UK 4 days ago, I had an appointment with a Consultant at a Respiratory Clinic. I wanted to discuss the serious side effects of taking a Steroid based inhaler. She ONLY wanted to tell me about why I should use another Steroid based inhaler...not interested in anything I was trying to explain Medical practice is all about DRUG Taking...nothing else
It is obviously truthful and helpful video, I personally suffering from this problem since last 5 years even being a sports person, When I am in some tension/stress/thinking much on any bad incident, then if some physical activity do, I feel heavy breathing problems. So somehow, Tension/Stress is the big reason for it. Thank you.
Very helpful. Isolation was not helpful from the pandemic which broke my exercise routine and diet. Cutting out breads, dairy, refined sugars, grains and toxic seed oils. Meat and vegetables only, eating clean. Start with all the inflammatory foods your body is reacting too and exercise to move them out Why complicate it by adding more toxic chemicals from pharmaceuticals.
It is helpful to change to a clean healthy diet . ruclips.net/video/gZ9F3fqURAo/видео.html It will definitely reduce overall inflammation in your body. Avoid any allergens as best u can. Buy mattress, box spring covers for dust mites, declutter your room, no carpeting, get a good HEPA vacuum, an air purifier (Blue Air ?). Wash bedding in hot water. Chemicals bother me as well. I use vinegar and water and baking soda and water to clean and have had very bad reactions to VOC and chemicals. I had bad acid reflux and post nasal drip, used Tagamet and inhalers short term, but changing to a Paleo diet got rid of acid reflux and Post nasal drip over about 1 year. Everyone is unique, just stick with natural healthy things and use medication as a bandaid when things are really bad. I am not an Einstein, just giving u my opinions as I know everybody is different. Just have to now solve insomnia (poor stress response) now. Sending positive thoughts and

Thank you, very grateful for this video it’s giving me hope - I’m so tired of Dr’s giving more and more medicines and not addressing the real issue. Now I’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Just wondering now if all the inflammation in my body is affecting both. Hopefully this lifestyle change that you speak of will help me with both. Thanks again.
Wanted to share my experience with vitamin d supplementation.I still can't breathe as deep and good like before asthma but the frequency of my asthma attacks have absolutely become zero.Even if i do get any attack(due to excessive smoke exposure) that's very less intense.Take about 20,000 iu vitamin d daily, and don't forget 200 mcg vitamin k2 to avoid any side effects of this much vitamin d
Thanks for sharing this, I was taking vitamin d3 for a few weeks at 8000 iu with vit k2 but was wondering why I still couldn’t breath deeply, so maybe that’s why. As far as I know I’ve never had an asthma attack just constant dyspnea all the time for the past year think it went away early 2023 but came back, tightness of chest and shallow breathing, still trying to find things that work for me been going for walks cutting carbs down and refined sugars excess sugars, taking omega 3 turmeric ginger garlic all of that going to keep going and see if it helps. I took corticosteroid inhaler which they told me to use a few months ago when I got diagnosed asthmatic and for 20 years I didn’t know I even had asthma and had symptoms starting over year ago late 2022, but I had stopped using it few months ago as my symptoms after a month were the same and all they told me to do was up the dose which I didn’t want to do because of side effects, I might start taking the inhaler every few days too because it’s not going away, and I’ve increased vit d3 to 10,000 iu and will increase until 20,000, I also might try doing more intensive exercise
a simple carnivore diet has done wonders for me, it did it within a week, don't really need my inhalers anymore, though i have not tested the stress end of things which in 1999 did put me in hospital for a week again, cutting out all the inflamatory veg, carbs and sugar ect really did the trick, i'm Freeeee!

Interesting. I use an ebike to get fresh air and exercise to the point of barely needing my puffers. Now I have to prevent my heat rate from going too high while exercising even though I'm not out of breath. I wasn't expecting this change in my body but if you do decide to take up an activity that lets you breathe better it's important to pace out routines and let your cardio catch up. It's always tempting to mash up that hill and not be triggered. Never felt better though.
I think playing basketball really helped my asthma like it never really bothered me honestly just faced my breathing problem and did nose breaths and it worked and still does today

@moonstars8134 It's Called Pranayama (breathing exercises), "Anulom vilom," to be exact. You close the right nostril and inhale smoothly and completely from the left, then breathe out from your right. You again inhale from your right by closing the left nostril and then exhale from the left, that makes it 1 whole round. You can increase the number of rounds as per your comfort level, but a minimum of 5 minutes is recommended. Do it before sleep and you will have a peaceful sleep. You can also hold your breath when you inhale and exhale for a few seconds, starting from 6 seconds and slowly increasing to probably 20 or 25 seconds, it's called "kumbhak". "Kumhak" is very useful for asthma and bronchitis. When you slowly increase the number of seconds you can hold, it increases the capacity of the lungs. Check out videos to have an exact idea of how it is done.
I tried all the inahalors and some steriod tablets, but non made any difference to the amount of yellow gunk I produce each day, I stopped all medication and now I run at least 6 miles every day, the first 4 miles are spent clearing the gunk and then I'm free of it and can get as much air into my lungs as I like, luckily I'm 68 and retired, so I have the time each day.

Prayers I always say each day, as is said,
Keep praying UNTILL something happens. I DO KNOW TRULY that prayers ARE heard. I have seen The Carpenter (as I refer to others) from Nazareth. Completely Honestly. He told me, I will be alright I will be OK. Oh just to say that I have NEVER taken Silly drugs. NO NO NO.
I will say A Very Strong prayer for you this day for you to COMPLETELY HEAL.
Wishing YOU to Heal Jennifer and that you Do have a Wonderful 2024 All year through. And that All of Your prayers and needs are given to you.
And Don’t forget Love Jennifer A lot. Thank you! 👏😄.
I’m just being supportive!

Please don't add background music in videos it's very annoying its unable to get clear message.
I agree. I don't know why some people think music as a background will benefit their talk, it is the contrary . Music and the voice COMPETE with each other and the message is not as clear.
Yeah. It's really high pitched and I can't hear what she's saying.

You're telling me ! I'm an asthmatic person.
I try to be relaxed and it helps a lot. I learned how to relax while I was practicing yoga.
I hope you feel better 😊.🌿🌹🌿
Thank you so much.Sometimes I feel very stressed about my asthma,I have to take my medications and I don’t see anything changing for the better.Listening to you, I already feel good and I’m going to talk to my doctor about supplements and I’m going to change everything I did, because I really want to get better.Thank you so much again.❤
Thank you for sharing this journey of yours. I have asthma because of 2nd hand smoke and terrible stress because of my husband.
This is such good info and very true to my experience of going plant based and running to manage my asthma without meds. It works!
Really it is working
I am a Asthma suffer. Thank you for this video I really appreciate it.
Yes nutrition!
Also Vit. D + K2 according to Dr. Berg.
Who's Dr. Ice Berg?
Very good practicable advice. Pranayam is best exercise for asthma control. The more it's practiced it's helpful to control asthma.
Thank you for sharing. Less meat and more fruits and veggies has helped me, like a Mediterranean diet.
Hydration (electrolytes), protein (collagen), positive expiratory pressure breathing and exercise is helping me at the moment
Thank you, very helpful video 😊
My tested remedy for Asthma , wheezing etc. Ginger 25 gms. garlic 25 gms. mint leaves one bunch and one lemon . Blend all these together in a blender add in a pot and add two litres of water. Boil it for half and hour. Cool down and sieve it. Take half cup Luke warm adding one teaspoon of honey. Usually once a day clears problem in four to five days, but if it is severe then take twice to thrice a day.
Yes, It works. I have experienced it. I add 1 teaspoon of Black pepper along with Ginger. This really helps.
I am so happy to hear this information. I will start this recommended life style and 🙏 it works for good.
My advice (I am not a doctor)
Thanks so 😊 much my dear 💕! I see hope with your sharing 😊😍. You're indeed a blessing 🙏❤️🙏! Please keep safe 🤗😍 and God bless 🙏❤️🙏!
Thank you very informatve we will try It would be better without the music, it's kind of hard to listen. Thanks.

I'm in UK
4 days ago, I had an appointment with a Consultant at a Respiratory Clinic.
I wanted to discuss the serious side effects of taking a Steroid based inhaler. She ONLY wanted to tell me about why I should use another Steroid based inhaler...not interested in anything I was trying to explain
Medical practice is all about DRUG Taking...nothing else

It is obviously truthful and helpful video,
I personally suffering from this problem since last 5 years even being a sports person,
When I am in some tension/stress/thinking much on any bad incident, then if some physical activity do, I feel heavy breathing problems.
So somehow, Tension/Stress is the big reason for it.
Thank you.

Perfect Video!

Thank you very nicely explain,I tried my best for my Son.
Bless you sis
Hard to hear with the backrpund music
a simple carnivore diet has done wonders for me, it did it within a week, don't really need my inhalers anymore, though i have not tested the stress end of things which in 1999 did put me in hospital for a week again, cutting out all the inflamatory veg, carbs and sugar ect really did the trick, i'm Freeeee!
But how do you deal with having so little fibre?
@@pattyloader8013
Apparently fiber is overrated. Dr Paul Mason has looked into the studies. He’s on RUclips.
No cure for asthma? Really the best way to minimize the effects is strenuous excersis. Like lifting heavy weights and running several miles a day.
Kind of hard to do those things…when you canʻt breathe😮😮😮😮😮😮
What if THEY CAN’T BREATHE?😮😮😮😮😮

You have to stop stressing because it will make the asthma worst just try your best to relax and get rest even use meditation music and practice breathing

Do you recommend increasing vitamin d
What you should have been doing is getting rid of the Chronic infections that truly the cause of asthma, arthritis, heart disease, type 1 diabetes, hearing loss, multiple sclerosis, for any other disease that takes a long amount of time to develop in most cases.........
great content - just remove the background music; as its TOO distracting!

Are you from Pakistan?

Thank you ma'am I tried alternate nose breathing and it works
Can you please explain to me what is alternative nose breathing?
@@moonstars8134It is a type of Pranayam (sub section of yoga), called "Anulom Vilom". Search it and u will get video guide, how to perform it.

Your title." How i cured my asthma" can be misleading, you are a doctor you should know better.
Background music is very annoying.
The background music is so so so annoying...........
Useful

Whether carnivore vs plant based. Staying away from the food industry poisoning of either foods plays a huge key.
