➡️ Bread
Bread is a staple in many diets, which is why you may be saddened to hear that it can cause an increase in mucus production. One study found that bread consumption was linked to chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, which are growths inside the nose.
➡️ Processed Meat
Processed meat is made up of meat that has been treated in some way to preserve it or enhance its flavor. This includes bacon, ham, hot dogs, sausage, and lunch meat.
➡️ Sugar
It’s been well-documented that sugar is not something that should be included in a healthy diet. A study found a link between sugar consumption and increased mucus production.
The study looked at the effects of sugar on nasal mucus in healthy people and people with asthma. It found that both groups produced more mucus after eating sugar.
➡️ Milk
It’s no secret that milk is a good source of calcium and other nutrients. But milk has also been shown to cause mucus. A study found that drinking milk increased the production of mucus in the nose and throat.
➡️ Fast Food
It’s no secret that fast food is unhealthy. But many are surprised to hear that it can increase the production of mucus. A study found that eating fast food was linked with an increased risk of developing asthma.
➡️ Soda
Just like fast food, soda has also been linked with an increased risk of developing asthma and increased mucus production. The primary reason is that soda is loaded with sugar, and excess sugar has been known to cause inflammation.
➡️ Cheese
When we eat cheese and other dairy products, sometimes our bodies are unable to break down and absorb a property known as lactose. When this occurs, the body's natural reaction is to produce more mucus. This can even lead to other problems such as diarrhea, constipation, and nausea.
➡️ Eggs
Eggs are a common ingredient in many dishes and are a good source of protein and other nutrients. Some researchers believe that eggs can cause an increase in mucus production. One theory is that the properties in eggs can trigger the production of histamine, which in turn triggers the production of mucus in your body.
➡️ Corn
It's a popular food item in many cuisines around the world. While it may seem like a harmless ingredient, some researchers believe that it can cause an increase in mucus production. A study found that subjects who ate corn protein had increased mucus along with more sneezing, itching, and a runny nose.
➡️ Sodium
Most Americans are consuming far too much sodium in their diets. In fact, many of the common foods that we eat are packed with sodium, and that could be leading to an increase in the production of mucus. Sodium causes inflammation in the body, which can lead to swelling. This causes the production of mucus to increase as a natural defense mechanism.

Respiratory Therapy Zone Sometimes “chronic rhinosinusitis” can be caused be a cervical spine misalignment (C3-C4), and/or a deviated septum where one’s diet may not produce any change sadly.
you could at least say what the heck is copd
@@phaedrussocrates7636 I think COPD stands for the “umbrella” term for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorders but you could double check on Google Health?!
@@phaedrussocrates7636 Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. A progressive lung disease = long term respiratory symptoms and airflow limitation. shortness of breath, cough, may include mucus. It is preventable and treatable. It is usually caused by smoking. Stop smoking. Other ways you can get is from environmental pollution (work place, unclear air in nature due to industry, etc) Also, genetics may increase chance of developing it. This was an easy search to find.

Right...eating is highly overrated 😂
I had been dealing with exercise induced asthma for well over 10 years (I am 57). I could not run or do any activity that required cardio without an inhaler. I used to eat a lot of bread. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and in between as a snack. Also cookies, cakes, donuts, etc etc. I cut all of that out, and my asthma disappeared. I no longer need to use an inhaler. I got rid of those foods not because of asthma, but just wanted to clean up my diet. I had no idea my asthma be gone. Now I can run as far and as long as I want without feeling like I did.

Thanks for this, my father in law is 53 and his asthma is real bad, eats alot of junk and breads
Yes, a change to a healthier diet and lifestyle can sometimes fix some health issues.

Sea salt, that sodium is a treatment to break up mucous, as already mentioned.
Oye thanks
Egg yellow is good, actually.
So what is safe for me to eat? Grass??!
Two things to remember: 1) Nothing is "good" for you. 2) Something is going to kill you eventually. I'm in my 80s. I'm on my feet and I'm still working. I eat whatever I want to eat.
Go for it Gary. I'm 77 (just turned) and I agree with your comment. :>)
Sir good to know about your age stay healthy both of you
Balance 🤞🏾
Me too!
How often do u get sick
Sodium actually is used to decrease mucus, It is used in a nebulazer or a nettie pot and it's very effective at decreasing mucus.
It's sodium in processed food which we digest causes the problem
I used hypertonic saline for almost 20 years for breaking up mucus. They started studying it after two Australian brothers with CF realized they felt so much better while surfing (salt water air)...
Agreed. Also the "old fashioned " way; fill a pot with salt water, let it come to slow boil and breathe in the steam, or use a humidifier. If you avoided all these foods, what would be left to eat and drink? ALL things on moderation and whenever possible, fix your own food from scratch to avoid processed foods.
Sodium is fine. Unless you straight eat spoons of salt. The vegetable oil, frying, gluten (sticky) and all that stuff in grains is what f#@&s you up.
Sea air clears my nose, its seems the only way..@@user-sm4qy8yc2r
I definitely agree on everything but one. If you are eating the right kind of salt in your diet. (Pink Himalayan Salt or Sea Salt) your body shouldn't become inflamed. This salt has 28 important minerals for your body. Unlike the regular man made cheap white salt. Plus salt actually helps thin mucus. And gargling warm salt water helps you recover from a sore throat.
Salt is actually good for Asthma. I was born with asthma and it's been a game changer for me.
Hi. I’ve been born with severe asthma, and also use Himalayan pink salt, but just started and not sure how to use it for most effectiveness. I saw a comment in a different video of a guy living in the Caribbean, and he said he’d take a dip in the ocean then sit on the beach breathing deeply in the salt air and within an hour his problems would be gone. I am nowhere near an ocean so I dip my finger in the salt getting a small amount and then breathe it in thru my nostril then repeat for the other nostril. No game changing event for me yet. Wondering what you do.
You are correct 👍.. This Himalyan Salt is helpful in Ashtma and allergies.. It’s my personal experience I used to gargle with Salt Hot water and it works wonders for sore throat and hay fever
No sea salt, full of microplastic, just Himalayan.
@@ManishVerma-ww6kmc 78😊777
White salt is not man made. It is from a mine or sea salt .
nothing left for me to eat
Okay 🤣😂
Right 🤣🤣🤣
Lol right😂👍🏽
It's getting ridiculous, no one can seem to agree on anything.
That's why I just ignore these videos in reality. 😂 The idea to watch these vids sound interesting until you watch and every item they name is part of your kitchen!🤦🏿♂️ Humans now can only eat rocks and worms I guess lol there's probably a video talking about the negatives of eating rocks and worms. 🤦🏿♂️😂
You pretty much name everything that humans eat on this planet daily
My favour food been mentioned
Eggs milk bread cheese sugar
I’m in trouble
But I do believe they can cause mucus
notice they are the same foods they are stating in the false narrative of global warming and the same foods they are now strongly advocating are bad for everyone.
It is a bummer to confirm what seems yummy is unhealthy.
A few I rarely touch or not at all, but lots of of others.
Dang.
Consumption of banana also increases mucus in my experience.
I learned recently that massaging the back of my neck just below the base of the skull and each side of centre is very effective in draining my sinuses. Just a minute or two of massage has almost instant results, and I´ve noticed a general improvement in my airways.
Some of the foods mentioned I will avoid, and some reduce, thanks for a very clear and helpful video.
Going to try this. Would be awesome if it would help .

Now that u kno.....make the changes for yr health
@@rosemarydudley9954 what is f means in here.
Dave’s bread is great, no issues
I realized a long time ago that if something tastes good it's probably bad for me in some way or another, especially if I consume a lot of it. So I try to live by the old adage "all things in moderation" but damn I loves me some fine cheese and cured meats! And I drink waaaay too much coke. And those little donuts and other pastries which pair with milk so nicely - forget about it! Plus there's meat and/or other animal protein of some kind either exclusively or predominantly in almost every meal I eat. So yeah - 60-70% for sure. Luckily we have medication to help with most problems. Better living through modern chemistry - TAKE A PILL!
I also realized that I'm not getting out of this life alive, so I might as well enjoy myself as much as legally (mostly) possible when I can for as long as I can. If that means some extra mucus or a little acid reflux or diarrhea from time to time then so be it. As long as it's not an endangered species, is tasty, and I don't have an anaphylactic reaction it's on my menu.
Thank you for this video. I've learned so much and have shared it with family and friends. We suffer from excess mucus. Drs have never discussed the possibility that it could be diet related. Thank you again
Too many doctors are useless they studied brick layers instead medicine
Thankyou for the helpful information. Seems like I’ve been eating all the wrong foods and I do have mucus.
Iam completely avoided non veg+sugar+dinner+no fruits after lunch+fast food+ oily foods+
Started yoga (prana yam)+ate less food+green vegetables+drinking tulasi water only+every morning warming up my body

I am a Dr and I agree with you 100%. Thank you so much!
I am an author of nine books on food and have allergies for ever, mostly part of the 40% population that gets the spring events from tree pollen, weeds, etc. However I have worked since I was 15 and now over 80 and all my doctors died in their 60's even my heart doctor. So, I decided with my wife of 54+ years living with me when I was a poor chef, meat cutter, professor, etc. Later director of national companies, national TV series in the news in the 80's, and convention show producer and dozens of jobs, as I am a worker bee, not wanting to live off of others efforts. Bottom line is that it seems that I and most eat all on the list, but we also suffer from Mucus, so I have decided to get younger doctors in their 40's, and drink lemon water daily, take alpha lipoic acid, (helps sugar metabolism and nerve regeneration and many studies say memory too) Vitamin D3, (seniors over 65 are often replete in this most needed vitamin), Magnesium for (bone, nerve and heart), Potassium also helps avoid leg cramps and helps heart function too. B-12 combined with a B complex help many things and also energy levels. So many are having issues with eyes as they age, so my wife has in her gene pool, Macular Degeneration and takes Areds 2 that is the most clinically proven combo eye Vitamin brand today. We both stay active in mind and exercise and walk daily two miles and work out at the gym three days a week, leaving a day rest for muscles to rest after gym workouts. Mucinex brand does wonders for Mucus issues, as it is (guaifenesin) to relieve chest congestion, etc. It is an expectorant! As far as the foods list, yes much is true, but since all my doctors have died and I got new younger ones and they all say you and your wife look not to be over 60 based on all test, so just keep on doing what ever you are doing! Long and short, just lost today two older friends one cancer and one a car accident. An 18 wheeler came into my lane with no warning yesterday delivering books to retail clients in six cities and mailing same day at least 15 drivers turned without giving a signal, (not that way years ago, as everyone was trained to give a signal), my chances of dying from Mucus production is much lower than heart, lung, flu, cancer, and most surly those dame crazy text messaging people daily. One took out my SUV two years ago driving 60 in a 25 miles zone. So, "life is a bitch and then you die"....
This sounds like another good book!
Thnx for info
so instead of changing your diet u wd prefer to mute your bodys response and take mucinex instead, doesnt sound very smart to me.

I suffer a great deal from mucous production! Your list confirms the list given to me when I did a $400.00 blood test. However potatoes, peas and plumbs were added! I started the diet immediately & after 2 weeks it started to work. But when our August winds started, it all blew up! I persisted for a year but gave up.

Just before autumn start eating hot peppers, jalapeños, and other hot spices in your food, only as much as you can stand. It burns up mucus. When blowing your nose(hard) you should be getting a thick pasty yellow substance.
Plumbs and peas.... Really? Two very high vitamin packed foods. I don't believe this but you do whatever.
"Plumbs"? What are "plumbs"? Ohh, you mean "PLUMS"!

I'm 63 and have eaten most of the items on this list and have never had any problems, but during the last 2 years have I had mucus issues.
Has anything else in your life or environment changed in past two years besides you entering your 60's?
My bro go RUclips: are you a good person by living waters..I'm serious
Up till we hit 60 our body puts up with lots of abuses. It throws its hands up in the air after we turn 60 when immunity begins to crash.
He has included almost every food we eat in this list, then what to eat, there is little option left what one can eat.
Not true
Yes. Its impossible to stop these in our diet
There's rice. However, they're flavorless.
Have you ever heard of vegetables and fruits fruit? They have been around for quite a well and are safe for humans. You should try it!
Thanks for the info and you have a blessed day as well.

My pneumonologist advice from September till the end of the cold/rainy season lots of vitamin C, tea, water, honey, zinc, D3, sun, citrus foods not on empty stomach, limit or no sugar, bread, dairy, no process food nor soda, eggs ok (7 per week in total), no nuts.
It worked no flu, or respiratory illnesses during cold/rainy season. The rest of the season I can ingest those foods but with a limit.
Hmmm. Interesting.
This is a NO WIN situation....basically everything we eat is bad but if we starve ourselves from these bad foods it's even a WORSE situation! 🤦🏿
Welcome to the mush gang
No, eat actual whole foods, not crappy pseudo-foods- processed junk. vegetables, fruit, beans, legumes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash etc.
Although, they disrupt the true digestion of the foods due to a fiber move along effect. So the body misses out on alot of valued nutrients it really needs through digestion. Like takeing a laxative.

I believe turmeric, ginger, black pepper, lemon, honey, green tea. I make this every day. I make 2 ltre in the morning with hot but not boiling water and drink it. I've.developed serious asthma since I has my 2nd covid jab. Docs shrugged me off. Its the only thing that helps me and actually helps to dispell some phlegm and mucus. Alcohol is supposed to increase mucus levels as well -my mucus levels are off the planet and I suspect the culprits are micro plastics in confined areas as the problem is far worse indoors and at night and improves when I am outside despite high pollen levels etc.
Very interesting!
The over planting of male trees by city planers is one of the main reasons that there is an increase in the reaction from asthma. I was shocked to find out that people preferred the male tree over the female because the fruit that fell from the female tree made our the roofs on the house on stained the concrete on the side walk in the park. That's why we have all of the green and yellow pollen everywhere.

Anything that's cooked causes mucus. You want to get rid of mucus, start eating raw vegan fermented foods. I was diagnosed with MS when I was 33 I went from eating cooked processed foods to eating raw vegan foods, it went away in 4 months. That was 18 years ago. I'm not 100% raw any more I watch what I eat I'm about 60% raw now and feel better than ever.

There is a major difference between refined and unrefined products like salt. Not sodium.
And sugar.
Yes white sugar is mucus forming. But. Raw honey and other raw sugars reduce mucus production. Plus there is a major difference in the natural occurring mucus and the mucus from mucus forming foods.
I feel quite fortunate that most of these foods are not really a part of my diet (unless as a byproduct) since I was small, except of sugar, but never white sugar. Mainly honey, molasses, dark cane sugar etc
You're saying you never or don't eat ice cream, kefir, milk, yogurt, whipped cream, cream cheeze, cottage cheeze, pizza, sandwich made with cheeze and or butter? I don't believe you.
@@crand20033 You don’t believe me because maybe your worldview is limited. Most of the food you just listed are not in the markets where I live, or a part of my consumption culture. The only way I get access to these types of food is if I go to the touristy area, England, other cities in Europe or America, and my taste buds are not even accustomed to this stuff unless it’s sugary (which I stated already).
I once took my friends to the touristy side for a change of view at an upscale restaurant in a country in Africa (all of them had lived in England before) and they teased me the entire time back (telling me that I took them to eat rubbish food for an expensive price when we could’ve gone to a local joint for a better price and meal).
You may think the whole world eats like you or people in countries that process this type of food, but this is incorrect thinking. Yes, people may eat ice cream or the mentioned foods once in a while, especially if it’s been exported to their country, but not enough for it to make impact in their health or DNA.
Your food choice and interest is a part of your culture and many people adore their cultures and their indigenous food. They don’t usually want to eat or speak in any other way unless necessary (like speaking English unless it’s to get a good job).
For example in Spain there are American franchises like KFC in some major cities, but mainly only tourists mainly patronize these places. The locals say
“per què hauria de menjar menjar americà importat quan tenim tapes?” Why should I eat American imports, when we have tapas?”
You get it now?
Milk and Yoghurt are everywhere. I am so astonished about your culture.
What do u eat
I have Post Nasal Drip, so this is good info!!
Thank you for the chest infection program from Fiji
My mucus/COPD problem is caused from histamine. I have allergies to dust. mold spores and MSG. Pollen bothers me too. I'm glad beer wasn't on the list, LOL
Me too! 🙈😭
Are there moderate safe amount levels of the foods mentioned?
Thanks for the video all the foods I’m eating in the information what next to eat.
Thanks for the video and information
Milk, vegetables, and spicey foods give me mucus. I am allergic to many raw vegetables and most raw fruits, so I frequently substitute them with juices which must be heated, this changes the proteins I react to. They cause some mucous. I drink a little milk, because with my weight lifting regimen I could use the calcium, however, many people can't take digest lactose. I can, but I keep the fat content down. And yes, tit does give me a little mucous. I don't eat white bread. Cold drinks harden my mucous. What really gets it going is when I eat foods with a lot of hot chili peppers in them. Ice cold drinks also cause it.
My situation almost exactly. Chili peppers, cheese. Like after a Chinese or a Mexican dinner, I almost suffocate from mucous.
Have you tried okra pepsin, mullein leaf, slippery elm, marshmallow root, nettle leaf, or enzymes like bromelain and papain (there are others) to lessen the mucus? Brand enzymedica mucostop may help you among its other products. I hope this information helps you.
Wow I'm shocked bread 🍞🍞🍞 and corn 🌽🌽 that causes phlegm. Two of my favorite foods too.
Corn is not healthy... high in fructose (sugar).
White Bread Peanuts are Disease
He said white bread.
I agree , what can I eat, you covered all the stuff I do.
Thank you for the class!
I am asthmatic patient and personally confirms that the foods you mentioned in video cause of worsening the asthma.
It's ~4am as I watch this extremely informative video and wonder why...yet again...I am up in the middle of the night with difficulty breathing and excess mucus in my lungs. As I watched, I had to LOL as it just kept naming all the foods I had the day: start off with coffee with both milk and sugar added; next up, after a salty lunch, serve up a Coke; then for an afternoon and evening graze - two sandwiches of processed meat, cheese, mayo on wheat bread. No wonder my body decided that laying down was time to purge the excess mucus. Time to experiment a bit and see if the healthy options (and avoidance of the ones in this video) lead to some improvement!
Bless your Heart. *I'm Elaine *
Hey do keto diet to reduce mucus production. Take serrapeptase, garlic, D3 or sunlight.
Thank you.
Thank you for information
I think vegetable oils need to be on this list. Whenever I go out to eat and have salad, I get a lot of mucus. At home I make my own dressing with olive oil and don't have the mucus problem.
Recipe? ☺️
Canola, vegtable, corn, soybean, peanut oils causes inflammation & tend to mucus forming. cold pressed olive oil✅👌 just dont cook it. Use grapeseed or sesame seed for those if you do that kind of cooking etc.
What kind of Olive Oil do you use? (Brand) please.
@@lbar9720 Star, is the name of the brand. Cold-pressed Xtra virgin olive oil is the kind you want to use. Pompeian, is another brand and, California olive ranch too( cost range from $12- 20) depending on 0unces size. I do get the really higher costing price olive oils too. I want to experience the taste diff between them. But those are some of my

Canola oil drastically increases inflammation and mucous.
Great, that limits the number of things I can eat even more. I’m allergic to a lot of fruits and vegetables, nuts, chicken and eggs and mushrooms.
So sorry... I'm allergic to some foods but you are having a hard time with so many forbidden foods!
I’m in the same boat you are. I’m allergic to peanuts, chicken, eggs, molds so mushrooms usually bother me too. Now I feel like there’s nothing left for me to eat. 😢 too many fruits agitate my eczema. I feel like just giving up on most foods but I love to eat. Lol😊
Anything to avoid for Hyperthyroids?
Thanks for this information. I am a serious victim of all of the above except meat that I don't consume.
Just in case you thought that it was only the foods that you enjoy can cause this problem🤔: Grains - baked foods and cereals including those made with yeast or that are fermented, like sourdough, as well as products with barley malt.
Fruit - aubergine, avocado, banana, tomatoes and all dried fruits
Vegetables - spinach, mushrooms, fermented vegetables including kimchi and sauerkraut as well as canned vegetables
Legumes - lentils, chickpeas, peanuts and beans as well as fermented soya products
Nuts - such as walnuts
Condiments - miso, vinegar, soy sauce and tamari, fish sauce, pickles and olives as well as sea vegetables such as kelp and kombu.
All of these are high in Histamine - which, you guessed it............🤔🤔🤔
Just take Antihistamines
Thank you for your video
Thanks ❤ 😊
We need to have good mucus cause it’s also important for regulating our body
