Hello there! I went a little ham on the ingame editing on this one. Was the pacing ok? I skipped some card explanations but tied to pop up every card on screen for people to pause and read if necessary. Let me know in the comments!

Yeah! And you’d be surprised at how many people fall for it when I play my Azorius version of this deck in Arena. I do still have some Skrelv’s Hive copies in there, just in case.

@@friedaiceborn1663 the alchemy set introduced cards that can be modified 5 different ways. So a card could have 6 different versions. If they did that in paper, a card would need to have 6 sides.
@E Gon I believe the proper term is six sided die, they would make a 6 sided die with MTG cards for each face.

What confuses me the most is I also have a deck that runs that Gideon, as well as Dovin, hand of control, and literally everyone I play against just attacks and never seems to realize why their creatures are doing zero damage.
Love the content everyone puts out on this channel, but Phil's stuff is so brilliantly edited.

This makes me want to try a Vona deck in Historic Brawl where I try to force this combo plus some other "low life total matters" cards and probably lose a bunch

Vona is actually one of my favorite commanders. I built it entirely because I wanted a commander deck to put font of agonies into, yet lifeloss control has become one of my favorite casual decks to play with friends.
Update: I made the deck and it was pretty fun. Could be better since I'm admittedly not the best deckbuilder but it was better than I anticipated. Didn't get the Axis kill just yet but I did manage to get someone to 3 life with it and that's a W in my book

7:20 the changeling from black market connections also has all creature types so the book of exalted will work on it
It would work as a Plan B, but he wants it on the Faceless Haven so it turns back into a noncreature land to hide it from most forms of removal.
The only thing that exceeds my dislike of Alchemy is my love for Brewer's Kitchen!

This is one of the funniest decks I've seen in a while (the Deck of Many Things one was amazing too) but this time around, I genuinely want to build this. I adore seeing how far you can get your own life total and winning on a negative count.
Before Faceless Haven was banned I had a couple of people try the whole Book into activate Faceless into enlightened counter thing while being short one mana, be it of White or Snow, and it was always funny to have that extra turn to deal with the Book or the Haven. Though that combo was the reason I was running a full playset of Field of Ruin in every, single, deck I ever played at the time. Now I normally just run two Field's because of the various man-lands.

I was genuinely thinking the audio issue on Arena was something wrong with my own computer or speaker, but I had no idea what would even do that sort of thing. Glad I'm not going crazy (at least not from that lol).

I've been working on constructing this deck over the past 3 months or so, and I finally got it completed. Well, I have 3 cards left to craft for the sideboard, but that will get finished in no time.

I've always dreamed of a 'thorns' build for MTG and this is the closest I've seen in Arena so far. I'd definitely craft this and try it out if I still played MTGA

Now since you asked about my opinion on Alchemy.
I would have no problem with Alchemy if:
1. It was confined to its own set of formats.
2. It wasn't constantly forced on us.
TBH: I think it's funny that WOTC sued HEX Shards of fate for being too similar to magic, when WOTC is trying to turn MTGA into HEX.
What exactly do you mean by "forcing it on you"? Is Mark Rosewater standing over you holding you at gunpoint every time you log in to arena demanding that you build an Alchemy deck? Or do you mean you see alchemy cards pop in historic occasionally in the historic queue, and that makes you mad for some reason? Because like...no one is making you play with the alchemy cards. On top of that, barely any of the top decks in the format play any alchemy cards, and the ones they do really aren't that high impact. Symmetry Sage maybe? But that's not really an alchemy card, it's a real card that received a buff for the digital only formats. None of the alchemy cards are a problem, the only real problem w/ Alchemy is the unnecessary rebalances (nerfs, most of the buffs are fine). You can combo off on t3-t4 with shit like mizzix master, putrid goblin/altar of dementia combo etc, but somehow cat being able to block, and alrund's epiphany broke the format.
@@HomeCookinMTG Because there is no option for "Alchemy" and "Historic" to be separate. Explorer was meant to be 'all real cards' but you can't play a lot of the actual Historic cards that exist, making it an out right lie of a format. It's garbage and Rosewater can eat a bag of dicks. Foresythe can also partake of that feast because half of their argument for letting JtMS and Cawblade steamrolled Type 2 for 6 month was "well people already bought the cards so we don't want to ruin their investments" and citing "standard right now is a very skill-heavy meta with a lot of interactivity."
Yeah not everyone likes netdecking U/W control and just sitting there playing cawblade mirrors. I like Red, I know it's generally the worst color of all of them, but I don't care. Permission MTG is always a toxic archetype and makes me want to punch people in the face because most of the games I play against those people, they're smug assholes that *deserve* to get punched in the face.
@@Zer0LifeNegi well first of all misconception number one that you have is that Explorer is supposed to be all real cards. That is not the case, not at all. Explorer is a format that is eventually going to become pioneer, which is an eternal format we're all cards dating back to Return to Ravnica are legal. Historic on the other hand is in Arena only format where all cards on Arena are legal, which includes Alchemy cards. Get over man.
