- We take Georges' T-shirt cannons and potato gun and see how far they will shoot tennis balls. We sacrifice a watermelon, and Georges shows us a cool trick with chemical lights.

Trevor was my favorite personality I’d seen on MORR, he’s quick and witty with his comments and always funny. It’s funny to be able to see a bit more of an uncensored humor, yet still just fine for kids (there was nothing in here that they haven’t already heard from their grandad, uncle and I). It feels like y’all can be yourselves a little more, it’s great.
You should use Tucker as the cannon ball, but if he ever got fired it would be hard to replace a man of his caliber. 🔫

I used to work at a hardware store that was going out of business. We built potato guns in the plumbing dept. Then tested every chemical in the paint dept as fuel. Acetone worked the best. It also didn’t gum up the grill igniter.

Had a similar experience working at a hardware store, surprisingly. My favorite was high-ether starting fluid.

Plumber here...your pvc will probably hold together for a few cycles, but when it fails it explodes into many shards...i would stick to threaded steel pipe for the pressure vessel

I once worked in a chip factory, so one night i made a spud gun out of the workshop compressor... (unlimited ammo) each spud was forced into the barrel, cutting it perfectly to size.. that thing was good for a solid 80-90 metres all night 😂😂

When I was a kid, I used to make those tennis ball canons out of the old soup cans. Usually four cans worked the best. Then I would punch a 1/4” hole about a 3/4” from the bottom, stick a tennis ball in, put a squirt of lighter fluid in the hole and stick a lit match in the hole. It would send the ball approximately 100’ in the air. (Give or take)
Not even a minute into the video I'm smiling from the simple banter between the group. Miss you guys at MORR. Then again i kinda stopped watching it.
We found a slight shot of O2, with hair spray/either/acetylene for fuel, could punch a golf ball thru 3/4" plywood ! Lol! Gotta see just what antics y'all are going to come up with ! Thanx !

Fun stuff!!!! I was figuring the sound of the cannons (especially the potato one) would result in a chat with Law Enforcement. Nice to know you can have some fun without someone making a call!
The chemicals were neat but lost their glow right away it seems!
For the rainbird homemade gun I have one that I made interchangeable barrels for have shot t-shirts golf balls and wild pears out of it ifi have a request that someone want to shot change barrels or pick up parts and make a different size
It keeps kids and dogs entertained for hours chasing balls and shooting them

You realize those night shots will end up as 911 calls from people seeing UFO's in the sky. Thanks for the great chuckle and ideas and keep this up.
We used to make them out of 5 or 6 beer cans (steel, not aluminum) taped together with duct tape. All but bottom can hollowed out top and bottom. Bottom can with small hole in bottom center. Three more holes and the pull tab hole taped to the other hollowed out ones. Small shot of butane and lighter to the single bottom hole. If I remember correctly we were getting about 100 yards out of a tennis ball. Sounded like a 12 gauge shotgun and shot flames if no ball inserted. Careful, it kicks with ball inserted. Kids, don't try this at home. Be hard to do now since no steel beer cans.
I've still got one from 40+ years ago. Indoors, we would shoot a nerf ball (yep, a bit silly). I've kept a stash of steel cans just in case I "need" to build more. 😀

Had me a tatter gun once, my buddies and I were loading it up with pears and fueling it acetylene. it worked good till it didn’t. It split apart on ignition……. I couldn’t feel my hand for about an hour….. I was lucky it didn’t end up worse.

Rave Hair Spray used to be Right up there W/ the Best of them. You need more Gas than Liquid. The Ticket is Holding Upright so you are Spraying up into the Chamber while 90% of Liquid Escapes.

where did you find, or make, the junction that contains the pressure gauge and the filling valve between the tank and the solenoid valve?
Growing up in the 60's, where you could literally buy dynamite at the local hardware store, for stump removal, we made some pretty good tennis ball cannons. Here's how:
1) We'd get 4 or 5 steel beer cans and cut the bottoms and tops out of them, with a can opener. We'd have one can we'd not cut the bottom out of. This would be the bottom of the cannon.
2) We,d tape all the cans together. Nowadays, several wraps of duct tape would work perfectly.
3) We'd punch dozens of holes in the bottom half of the bottom can. If we put a tennis ball in, it would go right down all the csns, and stop halfway down the last can.
4) Once we had the tennis ball in the cannon, we'd spray 2 teaspoons +/- of ronson lighter fluid through one the holes in the bottom can.
5) Holding (not recommended) the tube vertical, you'd hold a lighter near the holes in the bottom can. If you've done this correctly, despite firing the ball vertically, you'll never see the ball again. Sizing of the cans, we found, was critical. Proper amount of lighter fluid, along with it being able to vaporize properly, is also important. This of course is incredibly dangerous and there's a high probability of injury/death.
