Discovery Plus Concert Band - Grade 2
No one writes a march like master film composer John Williams. Here is a stirring medley of some of his best expertly scored for young players by Johnnie Vinson. Includes: Raiders March, Midway March, The Olympic Spirit and The Throne Room (Star Wars.)
HL08725192
HL08725193

Man I so love this! It shows you how much John Williams loves the march. I could see Sousa playing and directing these so much.
what i find really cool and i play this is looking at all these parts and it all coming together and making a nice piece that's why i like band music 4:14
John Williams really loves his marches.
This is my Favorit
Midway March is so much fun on snare
when our conductor gave this to our community band we were like "Raider's March what's that from?" and the when we heard the trumpets my sax partner and I just lost our minds
awesome songs
We played this for my 8th grade band concert like 3 weeks ago
Nova Rosenthal I've got my 8th grade concert on this in two weeks hope you did splendid!!
im in a 6th 7th and 8th band and were playing it
Natalie Chica I was in 8th and I played this and it was my favorite
@@natehilton2904 me too i really enjoyed this one
I'm playing this for school and i've listened to it about 25 times now
I played this as a French horn in my 8th grade band
Love band it's the best thing I did in my life I think
playing this for band
I'm in middle school and I'm in a band. I'm the second in command at my middle school and I will be conducting this piece this year. We played this last year and the year before that and there are other instruments involved that u don't really hear, such as French horn and flute, I myself am a flute player and this is really exciting to me when we play it as a group. For a middle school we're alright, surprisingly we can pretty much play the song a little better than this 😂😂 but I really enjoy this song
i feel like the raiders march just sounded kind of empty to be honest. As if the rhythms and note were there but it was dead. Loved the throne room theme but i feel like it was too short lived. Also, trumpet seemed to have a lot of parts that honestly should have been played on a french horn
Many arrangers frustrate me. They take something popular like Mario and just screw with it to the point where it just sucks, or over-simplify a piece to the point it's not challenging at all.
For example with this piece they picked ~4 different songs and 'mashed' them together (It's not mashed...)
I can get frustrated if the selections don't make any sense. Like why the throne room? Would anyone know what the "Olympic Spirit" is. While all good songs, sometimes arrangers pair the wrong pieces together and to me it makes it seem less impressive. Or as a musician when I pick up a score and "Oh this has starwars in it!" but not the starwars pieces I want to play. (Although, they're only choosing marches for this arrangement, so I guess it's fair.)
Gamer Newbz I thought the same thing with raiders
Gamer Newbz what you saying about trumpet
Gamer Newbz but I agree
Gamer Newbz I agree, it lacked energy. Should've taken it faster
And I played this piece on June 7, 2017.
xuekunkou I played this song on the 7 as well for the culmination of our 8th graders that sadly left, most of our band students were 8th graders, I'm now an 8th grader this year
BOA MÚSICA
Kkkkkkkk
I love the midway march
Trumpet one for this. Anyone else 🎺

Super🎶👍🏻😍
how to fine this sheet music for flute
I just really wish that these could be written in the correct key so it sounds authentic.
Hedgehog
for baritones it is played at high C in the beginning which is annoying
Doing the for band😊
3:34
That part I keep messing up
I like the part from +4:36
Why is there no comments on this...
Hadn't it been for a chrappy Indiana Jones theme this works have been a strong 8 now it gets a a weak 8 of 10. The raiders March sounded really blend. Midway March stood out excellent. star wars the throne room was great to. Fanfar for Seoul Olympics were OK
😊😊😊😅😊
Flute for this on am i right
what grade is this mostly played in?Im in seventh and we are playing this fully.
This is just theory. Maybe sixth or seventh grade. I don't go to any public or private schools. I'm homeschooled. But that's what I think.
Tacocat I'm in seventh and we are playing the full thing
Tacocat it depends really on what level band you are in. Most middle schools intermediate to advanced bands would play this.
Tacocat same here also super name 👍🏻
Tacocat we played this when I was in 6th grade, I'm now in 8th grade conducting this piece😂😂 for advanced bands I would say around middle school and we are also playing the whole thing
didn't have the force motif in the throne room :(
1:07
2:26
4:35
where's the imperial march?!
The real question is "Where's 'Turn Down For What'?"
+Underscore that isn't made by John Williams tho
+Dominic Lopez ... I know... That was sarcastic...
+Underscore oh 😂
right??!!
what songs were in this medley
Ethan Nguyen Raiders March
Midway March
Throne Room from STAR WARS
And
The Olympic Spirit from the olympics
why not March of 1941 :(
+King Kerr - this is just about the greatest underrated work of Mr Williams
There are a lot of spammers in my class on Edmodo.
Well to be honest, that's the most unenthuastic Raider's march I have heard....
Percussion gang here
