So hyped he brought this back! I loved the Dark Trooper and Palace builds he made. Thanks for staying in touch with your fans, Ryan. LEGO could learn a thing or two.
I mean in this particular build the thing is that all three dioramas are very similar in design and if they would make the other trench wall it would look wrong next to the other two diorama sets.
I might be too late but adding a 1 way mirror near the end, and then a mirror at the very end could help with an “endless” trench look. Would be awesome in a bookshelf.
Looks pretty sweet. The bonus is, you could take 1 side of the wall off to display it sideways. Then just reattach the side when you want to look at the trench. It’s a great set. I bought 2 and combined them, then took them apart and made 1. It’s a good set for extra parts too for other builds.
I would like to add an update here and say I have finally put together the double trench run set. And not only having the longer trench but the second Xwing added does make it a more complete set.
Looks cool...you could add the other x-wings, Biggs and Wedge, but it all depends on at what stage of the run you want to display the scene(make a mini Millennium Falcon for the end). As much as I would love to make an extended trench I won't with this one, I have mine in one of those display boxes from Wicked Brick and I don't currently have enough space to display a bigger version anyways.
I'm new to Lego (coming from 3D rendering) and I just bought this kit to learn greebling, now i can order those small parts (and some hoses) to create techno walls. Thanks for the demo!
You are on to something here with this build... Does it make since to spend $400 on a bunch or random grey pieces, no. Does it make sense to spend all afternoon randomly attaching said grey piece, no. But does it look cool...hell yes. I'd add a back so it looks like it goes on longer, and make it even bigger (what's a couple hundred more bucks when you are in this far). Nice work.
You might want to move the TIE's further back, it would give you room to shift the point in the Trench Run to an earlier point with Wedge and, potentially, Biggs providing cover for Luke
A really cool idea for the spare pieces could be making a to scale Millennium Falcon to put trailing behind the Tie fighters, think that would really push that display to the next level.
Hey boss... got a suggestion... build the surface portion of the death star and build it into a glass top coffee table. Will look great from all angles
For those that have Ikea Kallax storage (I don't) they may consider widening the trench to fit the kallax cube such that you don't see the sides of the trench at all.. that said It is likely this trench would be too wide. I haven't tried to do the math on the size of these Tie Fighters and X-wings to figure out how wide the trench should be based on scale. Would be interesting to know if your trench is actually spot on in terms of scale.
I decided to just extend mine a little bit in both directions with spare pieces i already had and then i put together a milenium falcon at scale to join the trench instead.
This was really cool man. I think it wants you to cut a hole in your wall and display it through a small window with dope lighting added in...Or a deep bookshelf. But the sides definitely need to be covered.
What you should have done to avoid the ugly sides, is change the vantage point so that the xwing is facing the viewer, slant the model slightly downwards, but also have pieces that show the outer side of the trench. Pieces that would look like the inside, but be horizontal, just like the death star has. To explain this best in words, these new pieces would represent the outer-most layer of the sphere. With this new viewing angle, the sides are completely obscured by the new additions and you could then add tonnes more guns and details. I would have also used the other xwings as luke's wingmen, perhaps even one of them being shot down.
Sad you didn't make the exhaust port at the end for Luke to be shooting into! It looks great but that could be a fun, niche, and not totally annoying detail to add
It looks good ! Perhaps you could use the left over pieces to create greebling on the outside, not strictly accurate but certainly more attractive. Nice vid.
i said it once and ill say it again. LOVE these kinds of videos and i love that you keep doing them. also you should mount it to the wall in your room instead of trying to awkwardly fit it in a shelf where you’ll maybe maybe not get the affect you want
Man when you showed the art at 1:51 I really thought you'd have made the extra ships to really fill in the chase across the whole trench. It'd actually give some nice depth when looking down it and you could have used the stand pieces to have some some more dynamic poses. Overall not too bad, but I really think it could be better. (Personal preference too, at least one or two lasers would be cooler for the set to add illusion of action)
you for sure need to do more videos like this. I'm still waiting for the 2022 republic fighter tank transformation. (Edit) good job on the final complete model!
Mand u need to get some Brixmax light kits to really bring this even more to life trust me look at what I have done on my channel with them makes every set feel so alive.
just saying at the end of the build you should've added an X-wing getting blown up in the trench, ig it might have been a little hard but if i had 6 death star trench runs i prolly would've attempted it lmao
AskMandR: when buliding a new lego set do you cherish the building process or are you keen to finish and display it. I for one sometimes build slowly so I can enjoy how it’s build and the parts.
I don't think you will ever see this comment since its been a couple months, but if i might give some idea/critique, i would make one of the walls round for the outside, that give the illusion that it is literally a piece of the death star cut out and placed there. Put a couple turrets on the rounded edge, that way you can put the "ugly" side against a wall or something, and boom, no more ugly walls, it looks bigger and remembers you that its not just some trench but the actual Death Star
I’m giving away 3 AT-TE’s on Whatnot this Saturday! www.whatnot.com/invite/mandrproductions follow me!
I'll be sure to be there 👍
Omg hi
how does whatnot work
I like this video idea this is so fun seeing it ge5 bigger
Wish I could enter but I cant cuz I never win Jack shit
So hyped he brought this back! I loved the Dark Trooper and Palace builds he made. Thanks for staying in touch with your fans, Ryan. LEGO could learn a thing or two.
You seem very familiar
Why
I mean in this particular build the thing is that all three dioramas are very similar in design and if they would make the other trench wall it would look wrong next to the other two diorama sets.
I might be too late but adding a 1 way mirror near the end, and then a mirror at the very end could help with an “endless” trench look. Would be awesome in a bookshelf.
dang, cool suggestion
Looks pretty sweet. The bonus is, you could take 1 side of the wall off to display it sideways. Then just reattach the side when you want to look at the trench.
It’s a great set. I bought 2 and combined them, then took them apart and made 1. It’s a good set for extra parts too for other builds.
I personally believe the standard trench run set is small on its own. So having at minimum 2 sets makes it worthy.
The Microfighter version of the Falcon is decent enough for scale. With some modification it’s a great addition (mine is mounted on my trench run now)
if you wanted to make the walls not ugly, you could use Modified 2 x 2 Inverted tiles to make it flat and more sleek.
This would make a cool book nook
your gonna be the reason that the next time I walk into the lego store the trench run is gonna be a top 10 best seller
4:53 those are some strange looking Dogs

Bro I really like these alternate build videos! Also it looks awesome! keep it up!
I saw someone add a micro Millennium Falcon peaking over the wall and it made all the difference. I shall be stealing this idea for myself 🤩
This is my favourite out of all the dioramas
You are on to something here with this build... Does it make since to spend $400 on a bunch or random grey pieces, no. This built into a coffee table with a glass top but wooden sides to cover the anti studs would be epic
I'm so glad you did another alternate build! Love this series! Keep up the great work!
If I could I’d make a custom coffee table of sorts. Center this piece in and inlay glass over top, then you have a nice display esc feel imo
Honestly just buying the two and slapping the second next to the first will probably be the path I'll take.
Love how you challenge new yourself to go and build stuff people probably wouldn't thing about
A really cool idea for the spare pieces could be making a to scale Millennium Falcon to put trailing behind the Tie fighters, think that would really push that display to the next level.
Ryan buying Death Star Trench Run sets:”More! MORE!!”
This series is an amaizing idea
I think it would look sick mounted on a wall or something
Brilliantly done.
Hey boss... got a suggestion... build the surface portion of the death star and build it into a glass top coffee table. Will look great from all angles
could put the spare black panels on the side to make it 'more clean' looking and more consistent plus more structural
Yes i love this series! ❤😊
And Ryan even got the LEGO designer AKA Sands, in the video as well.
I have a idea put a little falcon can put it on there so it looks like the movie
You must be from Boston, the “WICKED!” Gave it away 😂

This set would be good for a Death Star same scale to the miniature ships that come with the set
Truly amazing!! Well done! 👏
Do more of these alternative builds. They are very fun
More, MORE😂😂😂 love the intro
You could use the spare pieces for the outside of the wall
Cool.
Thats a good set beside the price 😆
u could display on one the sides so u can see the whole thing I think that’s the best way to do it
He should do one of these for duel on Mandalore
0:14 Kylo Ren: More... 0:16 *MORE!*
I decided to just extend mine a little bit in both directions with spare pieces i already had and then i put together a milenium falcon at scale to join the trench instead.
I never thought this video would come 😊
This was really cool man. I think it wants you to cut a hole in your wall and display it through a small window with dope lighting added in...Or a deep bookshelf. But the sides definitely need to be covered.
That Would look really Nice if you had it in a glass coffee table
The multiverse be like:

If you have the time and money make an endless mirror version of this!
Looks way better than expected, well done Ryan.
Looks so cool
Would look great from above when put under a glass table
New place?
Could’ve added like, crashed X-Wings/Y-Wings and crashed TIEs’.
Air bnb :(
@@MandRproductions Cool. Thanks
@@MandRproductions How’s content creating going. Any new LEGO you just bought?
@@MandRproductions damn did your wallet force you out 😭🤣
I’d make a mini tie bomber even if it wasn’t in the scene because it would be cool
Sad you didn't make the exhaust port at the end for Luke to be shooting into! It looks great but that could be a fun, niche, and not totally annoying detail to add
If you reinforced the build a bit more, you could put it on its side and display it like that. I think it would look good.
I love u doing those builds. U are an amazing builder
Should add a mini falcon about to swoop down into the trench
I think it it was the same length as the original it could be cool to use as a book separator
It looks good ! Perhaps you could use the left over pieces to create greebling on the outside, not strictly accurate but certainly more attractive.
Nice vid.
I would 100% turn this into a trench run coffee table with glass panels on the top on ends, maybe hide the back walls with storage or something
I’m loving the MandR mods videos
Please make more videos like these
Great video!
U have 6 of those star wars logo plates right? Why not have the logo on all 6 sides since this moc doesnt seem to have a defined front
Why not make the walls on the outside completely grey? and model looks fantastic
I haven’t even watched the video yet but I already gave it a 👍. I love the alternative build videos
Awesome intro!

You should try making something outta all your 501st battle packs because Im tired making the same builds out of them
Just a suggestion but you should display your mock sideways that could look really cool. Love the content!
when i bought mine it was to part out as the other one (Dagobah traning) due to the 60 ingot pieces that would be usefull for MOCs
you for sure need to do more videos like this. I'm still waiting for the 2022 republic fighter tank transformation.
(Edit) good job on the final complete model!
So cool
I think you have room for a Millennium Falcon to save the day....... lol
Mand u need to get some Brixmax light kits to really bring this even more to life trust me look at what I have done on my channel with them makes every set feel so alive.
Looks awesome, keep up the amazing work man 👍
You should’ve put 12 Tie Fighters behind one X-wing
just saying at the end of the build you should've added an X-wing getting blown up in the trench, ig it might have been a little hard but if i had 6 death star trench runs i prolly would've attempted it lmao
you should add a mini falcon in the back for obvious reasons
AskMandR: when buliding a new lego set do you cherish the building process or are you keen to finish and display it. I for one sometimes build slowly so I can enjoy how it’s build and the parts.
Yup for me the big thiong of building lego is the process.
I saw him building this while he was on whatnot co hosting with matty
Great video! Shame about the left over pieces, though.
I am a year late but I’ve always thought with doing g this type of thing, what if you build the rest of the Death Star until it curves into the table
My option is it’s an amazing set hard but good
Lmao the fact I barely made it into the vid has me in tears
Make tiny falcon :)
There might be a good way to display this on the side so you get to see the trench from the top and the ugly sides cannot be seen.
You have a small length of trench. You know what to do: Make the entire death star to scale
You should’ve done it on its side
I don't think you will ever see this comment since its been a couple months, but if i might give some idea/critique, i would make one of the walls round for the outside, that give the illusion that it is literally a piece of the death star cut out and placed there.

coffee table potential
Ryan when you buy the house put it in a glass top table
Should’ve put the clip of Kyle ren just saying more
This MOC is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE, mate. 😎
Anotha one!
Has anyone tried to make the Dagobah Training Diorama bigger (maybe even to be compatible with the 2021 X Wing)?
Make it in minifig scale
