Try hitting a key when it gets there. It happens to me sometimes too. I would recommend going to VMWare as I've migrated off of UTM as VMWare is faster, runs cooler and has better graphics drivers.
For some reason when I go through the steps on UTM, and hit the SAVE button, nothing happens. I've tried a couple different ways and am getting nothing. Using file Windows11_InsiderPreview_Client_ARM64_en-us_27718.VHDX. Using UTM v 4.5.4 on Mac OS Sonoma 14.5. I've tried the instructions via UTM site as well, and when I do it that way I'm getting an error "The operation couldn’t be completed. Operation not permitted". Banging my head against the wall trying to figure this out. Any further ideas?
for some reason, i click download drivers at the top, and when i try to select the folder labelled drivers after it asks to install them, however it keeps telling me that "something went wrong"
I'm doing a new video now that Microsoft has put out the Release Version so no need to download the Preview. It also talks about the TSO performance improvement option that may improve Windows performance.
I switched to VMware for W11 ARM two months ago and deleted my W11 on UTM and then Broadcom came out with a new release which broke my old installation. So I rebuilt my UTM W11 ARM VM and have had no problems with it. Are you using the official W11 kit or one of those on the Dev channel? I'm still using the kit from the Dev channel and haven't tried a release kit yet.
Renting about open source just because of his experience with computers hahahaha..never had problems with any documented mainstream foss project.. utm is a frontend for bhyve at least bhyve works like a charm
Windows11_InsiderPreview_Client_ARM64_en-us_22598.VHDX build is not showing any option to skip the network add, even tried fn + shift + f10 but still it is not going through Any help would be appreciated Thanks
I just tried this with Windows11_InsiderPreview_Client_ARM64_en-us_25324.VHDX on my 2021 MacBook Pro and fn + shift + f10 brought up the terminal window. I had problems with the 22xxx series though I don't recall what the problems were. Did you try the 25xxx builds?
Probably like 4-6 hours of frustrating trying to get a VM to work on M1 mac you are a legend for this thank you
Thank you so much, this guide really helped me as I've been trying to install windows for about a year now.

Can you help me figure out why mine keeps getting stuck on the screen that shows at 18:07? The start boot option?

Did you check Install Spice Tools and Drivers when you went to create the Windows VM?
I think there is an error here now, in the last step when I install Spice tools, it just goes to display output is not active.

does this work from an external drive?
I've created one on the internal and then cloned it to an external drive. I didn't try creating one directly on an external.
where can i download spice tools?
It's part of the kit. There's a pulldown to install them when you're running the VM.
i did this and it was fine, but now it suddenly wont connect to the internet? any fix?
Encounter a same problem
