MUSIC OF ANDRAE CROUCH

Andrae Crouch used to entertain those of us who hung out with him a lot by having us give him a topic and he would then immediately turn it into to a song complete with melody and lyrics. His passion though was writing and performing gospel songs, and he composed some of the most memorable gospel classics written in the last half of the 20th century. This past June I met up with Andrae’s nephew, keyboardist Kenneth Crouch, in a studio in LA where he let me record him playing some of his Uncle’s early gospel hits. If you closed your eyes and listened it sounded as if Andrae had come back to life for an hour.
