Although he loves jazz masters, strats always turn him into an absolute beast
Yeah i also thought that strat kinda suits him more
That last song in particular I've heard him play on a few strats and each time is a unique take and each time he absolutely slays!!! 8:55 anyone know the original?
@@geromelegnome5446 I thought that too! Wish I knew what it was
All black with the large headstock is how I like my Strats to look.
Just how i like my women
@@dep7upso large head?
One of the last *VINTAGE* Stratocasters ever made
I found out about yoooooouuuuuuu 🎶. Such a catchy tune and unexpected
Dope Lemmo!! Love these, the best part of my day is you and Jen…
That jam from minute 9... So GOOD! Love it, Lemmo!
Gin blossoms riff is cool. Keep jamming Lemo.
Hate to admit it but … I always loved song #2, Someone That I Used To Know. Now I love it more because Lemmo just
took it somewhere else. And I once bought an identical ‘79 Strat for $400. Gone are those days. Lovely Strat and as
always, a super demo.
Gin Blossoms - Found Out About You
Great playing! Loved that, great guitar too. x
Geeez Michael as soon as you start playing I'll just stop whatever I'm doing and drop my jaw for a while. Always inspiring, thanks so much for doing this! Love from Sweden
Superb subtle swells lemmo...reeeeally nice man !
Thnx Jen.
Outstanding as always Lemmo !!! 😎🎸💯💥👍
David Gilmour of Pink Floyd played a Strat like that with a black pickguard for many years also
Awesome playing and showcasing what that could do!!! 💪👏
Nice looking guitar.
One of my favorite guitar players Hughie Thomasson of the Outlaws played one like that.
hi . I love the tune you played with both neck and middle pickup, it had a pumpkins' vibe, that's really cool !!!
They have a bad rep. but the strange thing is that whenever I hear one, especially the '79s, it's the best Strat tone I've ever heard!
At half the price of a Custom Shop, these things are THE Strat bargain atm. IMHO.
Yes indeed!
My 79 25th anniversary is gorgeous!💪💪
Just got a black ‘79 as my first vintage guitar. Feels great and the gray bottom pickups sound amazing. So many great sounds.
Your playing is super interesting! Saved it in my inspiration playlist. Really love it!!!
Really nice playing there Lemmo, I think that guitar really bonded with you - great sound!
Such exceptional sense of rhythm. There are two things proven here - that 70s CBS 3-bolts can be great guitars (just listen to it!), and that the Fender Deluxe Tone Master has changed everything we used to believe to be true about solid state.
Great player 👏 really good sound and style 👍
Oh almost forgot that guitar is beautiful 😍
Work of art
Great playing Lemmo!!
Dude your awesome to do that benefit bro.!!!
Can’t get more rock and roll than a black 79 Strat!
I have a '79 in natural ash I bought new. Plays great with .008's. Cutaways are not as deep as most Strats. I understand that that was because Jackson and other guitars of the day had shallower cutaways. The guitar is Les Paul heavy due to the as used that year. Great guitar that doesn't get the respect it deserves.
Have the same 79 strat. Had it since mid 80's. However mine is a crossover, date stamp neck body 1979. Pickup harness is 1980 with the hotter bridge Pickup. Great guitar, Lemo does not disappoint.
I've got that exact same guitar. Love it.
I had the same Strat but it was red with a rosewood fretboard. Very nice 😊
Magic sound❤
Lemmo has a great feel unlike so many.
👍
@Mike V. What's Lem's original stuff like, is this why he is not so famous?
Because people don't listen to his stuff... for instance: you like his playing, why don't you listen to his music yourself instead of asking other people?
Killer rendition of the Gin Blossoms and the tone in the middle position is AMAZING...in your hands of course!
Holy hell! I love Straturday
"Found Out About Youuuuuuu."
I was Just playing that 2 days ago! '79 Black Stratocaster! One of our high school guitar legends named Darren had one of those. Amazing how certain things can bring back So many memories!!!
Great licks
wow i love that. now thats what i wished i had a 1979 fender and 1 same yr corvette.. hey i can wish. or ask???? lol.
I just got a Classic Series 70's Stratocaster. Looks identical to this, all black on black on black. I love it.
Nice!
👍
Nice one!!
I’ve got a squier replica of this one in hss, and it’s a killer
I have a ‘79 hard tail in trans red w black pick guard. Cool guitar and I really like the pickups. Sounds a lot like this one. The owner of the shop was like ugh, You really want to buy that one?
He sure makes these Fender's sing!
Good playing, Lemmo. I love a '70s Strat. I'll forgive it not being a hardtail.
I have exactly the same, 78. Weighs a ton.
It seems like a lot of the 70’s strats weigh a shit load eh.
I think most of them were made of northern ash, which is a pretty heavy wood... But one of the most recognizable electric guitar was built with a northern ash body by someone called Mr. EVH...
@@flagace4889 I just picked up the Frankie relic and I’m not even sure what it’s made out of but it’s pretty light , unless it’s not the same wood as the original
@@benallmark9671 Only the 25000$ usd custom shop model is made of ash. Other non custom shop models are made of basswood. I have read that Eddie's Frankenstein weight was around 9 lbs.
My ‘79 is a boat anchor. Thicker body, thicker width on the headstock. Sounds great though!
Another awesome demo Mr. Lemmo👍 Happy Stratorday
It’s my guitar! Nice! Mine is a hardtail, and the best damn neck!
Only Lemmo whips out the Gin Blossoms.
I think Lemmo is my current favorite guitarist, so versatile and so smooth
Dude is good. Can’t stop listening. So tasteful.
I had an early 70s one that actually had a Chrome pick guard (I swapped it out for a white one) with black pick ups. I I bought it from Cintioli’s , I think Mr. Lemmo is familiar with that place.
Beni!
Imho the ‘68 style black with gold outline transition is the best looking headstock logo by far. Glad my Strat has it, not a fan of the silver spaghetti they use now.
Not all 70s Strats are created equally! Another great Lemmo demo.
Wow Lemmo is an amazing player
Yes. Don't want sound disrespectful in any way (I'm sure he can shred if he wanted to) but a lot of the stuff he plays is fairly simple but he plays it with such finese and feel, he is a master.
lemmo looks like a young bob dylan, suits him
Be safe, have nice trip home!
I thought it was taco Tuesday 😃
Let's go Rangers!
~~~~~~~~~Lets go Flyers!!!
I don't like the black plastic on my 79 but the pickups are wicked
Does that jam one bridge/middle have a name? Lemmo is so good. I wish I could play even half as well. I also wish I had the spare cash to splurge on this guitar.
“Found Out About You” by The Gin Blossoms. 1990-ish but here’s a video from 2011. ruclips.net/video/N9tpWkXajwE/видео.html
Like the Gin Blossoms riff but you can't play a black on black strat without playing some Pink Floyd. Gilmour still rocks one to this day.
Actually, he sold it? Auctioned off for like $3.6 mil.
@@jahkristjanfari You are correct. I forgot about that something for charity. I think Clapton did something similar too. I like the guitar as well but not that much!
Sweet, love the patina, if only it was a lefty, I would sell my truck.
What is the song at 9:00? I've heard it before but cant place it
Sweet straturday! Lemmo is awesome.
Have the same guitar
Is trhat tone all from the amp or is he using an overdrive pedal? Killer sound and great playing!
Nicely done Mr. Lemmo 👍👍
I OWN ONE OF THESE...ADJUSTAMATIC NECK.ITS NATURAL FINISH
Blown away again! Man, I am so jealous!
I had a ‘79 years ago, wish I hadn’t let it go but it was 9.5lbs but it sounded beasty. Even though there were issues with the bullet truss rods.
Now I want to find another that’s lighter….
They are out there. I'm looking for one now. Nearly every 79 Strat I hear sounds amazing.
4:59 what's that tune again? great playing
I love u jen, dont tell the punk
I have, admittedly, taken a couple weeks off of watching GOtD. Let me tell you, Michael’s playing and Jen’s filmography are off the chains compared to what I remember. This is something special people.
be kind....rewind
Philly loves LEMMO
Comeback to Bucks County Lemmo !
Déjà vu, Playing fine instruments with leather jacket snaps & zippers............
There was MJ and Pippen, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, then there’s Michael and a strat 🔥🔥
👍 Hi Jen
🎸👍👍🏄🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺
i LOVE the Black....
Neighbor had a 'black Strat' ala Gilmour. Never liked that look.
Didn't Dave Gilmour play a Strat like this?
Ethereum 🎸🎸🎸
Such a cool looking strat to end the week! Awesome playing Lemmo! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Spotto
I already told you Maton boy Justin Johnson has been playing a Maton for the last week or so I am as Aussie too give us a break.
@@neilforbes1082 best superhero name ever... again!
@@neilforbes1082 got to admire his persistence he’s been repping matrons for ages 😂
@@neilforbes1082 Neil, i think he's just plain nuts..
U2 is one of the greatest bands ever. Some of the greatest music. The Edge can move you with his playing. That guitar is amazing.
Total identical guitar when edge and U2 were on the barge playing Gloria the offical video and Streets Have No Name in Orange County. Also used in the Red Rocks concert. Edge used the strat more than the Gibson Explorer.
Let me down a little when u looked at it and immediately thought about the edge. Dave Gilmour maybe?
I’m the person who tapped the hands down negative vote. It was a lark before the tape started. I apologize the guitar sounds great. Sorry Lem
You can un tap it
We'll just blame ste s. He's useless, anyway. . .
Play some more 'straight ahead' tones. Muffling/chopped chords is ok but lets REALLY hear it. Give it some gain & aggression.
Jesus loves you! ♥️
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooojooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I’m taking crazy pills reading these comments - Lemmo is absolutely a fantastic player, this isn’t about him. This guitar wastes his talent.
That guitar’s tone sounds absolutely terrible. Mids are dead, “glassy” tones on every other Strat are so out of balance on the treble side on that thing because of the X1 bridge pickup that it’s awful. The chords are just sonically ruined by the god-awful pickups l, you literally cannot hear the bottom two notes on any chord.
70s strats earned everything awful said about them.
Jesus Christ
Always trash talking Freon this wife!🤮
tuning is a bit sharp
Too loud Lemon Hows your soy gonna grow My god Where is AGNESI
Not very good video fuzzy at times
Magic sound❤
