I'd like to add something that helped me get more consistent at it. Imagine you're pressing 2 when you press d, not d/f. Or actually do it. Just do f,n,d+2,d/f quickly. You'll get d2 more often than not but you'll also get electrics. We usually don't get the electric because we press one button after the other, and 2 is always unconsciously pressed after d/f2. Since you do d,d/f in a quick succession, just conceptualizing that you are pressing 2 during d helps a lot. Tie pressing 2 to pressing d.
TIP FOR PAD USERS: do not practice only electrics for more than 15 min at a time. Your hand will start to cramp (you probably wont feel this) but you will notice you will stop throwing electrics as consistent.
Yeah im new to Tekken im finally starting to put it to good use in matches though the only one a get consistent rn is the forward neutral and d+f input its easier but not its considered as good as the legit input
@@thatpersoneveryoneknowsbut7533 the electric one is more powerful as it has chip damage on block and it’s effective tool to keep high pressure on your opponent
@mostafaabolila2295 I know I don't think I explained well im mean what's the difference between doing the two different electrics inputs the forward down forward +2 or the forward neutral df+2 electric instead
If you’re on pad, I recommend binding one of the macros that use right punch (like RP + Lk) to left bumper. The timing for the electric is much easier when the timing is controlled by only one hand
@@ali.3834 Emphasize the down, down+left. Trust me, aha. I kept doing it as well, but it was because I was doing it faster than normal and, essentially, phantom hitting the inputs -_-

might be helpful for people to practice getting the timing of the d,df+2 first. you can practice that by doing f,N. you'll have a large window to input d,df+2. if you get an electric then your input is fast enough. if you get regular wgf then you need to be faster. once you can reliable get the electric punch from this you can add in doing the full thing with f,n,d,df+2.
This is something I've used and is probably a bit advantage of keyboards but you can bind right and left to two keys in the options. If you play on keyboard and struggle with ewgf I'd recommend putting directional keys near your 2 input that way you can hit the f2 part of the df2 with one hand making it much easier.
Tip I play kaz and play on the right as I think it’s easier for Mishima players to be on it’s a very simple just frame input (forward/then push both down and foward as your pushing triangle or Y)
Can’t stress enough a little bit goes a long way. I’ve been practicing just doing the electrics as a warmup before matches. Just a couple of minutes at a time each time I load up the game. At first it didn’t make much of a difference in game as I’d try to throw out electrics and would just get the regular fist. The important thing for me is I didn’t beat myself up for not getting the electric. I’m at red ranks so thankfully I don’t get punished really at all for missing the electric. If I can hit my opponent it accomplishes the same goal. But in continuing to work on it in practice and applying that practice to real games I’ve started noticing a lot more sparks flying around in my games. I’m not consistent and can’t do it on command, but I am starting to feel when I’ll hit it and when I won’t if that makes sense. Progress lol
Graças ao seu vídeo eu consegui aprender o EWGF e o EWHF do Jin. Ainda preciso de mais prática porque de 10 tentativas, só 2 sai elétrico mas seu video me ajudou muito a dominar melhor os Mishimas! ❤
I am reliably 1 frame off means practice shows me a df input for 1 frame before the df+2. feels like I am hitting a wall in my brain to thumb connections (playing on xbox controller)
I started pressing 2 way before I would ever need to and then started to delay it until it hit the right frame. Was kinda backwards but it helped me more than trying to press the button faster.
For pad users find a pad, that’s sensitive af, soo u don’t have to press it hard, and strain yourself practicing it. Because my thumb only hurts because I was going to hard on the pad. It’s about finesse not strength.

Thank u for giving me the idea to punish to speed up my inputs. My thumb hurts like hell though I'm going to work on the rest of reinas kit for a couple of days 😂😂😂
2:45 I feel this a lot, and it’s why I’m trying to switch over to keyboard. I’m worse at it right now but I have more time to get better if I’m not fucking up my left thumb
How I did it, I practised WGF over and over. Eventually I started pressing 2 early, before hitting d d+f. I was getting it down 8 out of 10 consecutively
It's weird. I wasn't able to EWGF a long time ago but during 7 I really nailed my consistency of it and now I look back and wonder why I missed it so much before I got truly consistent at it (like, damn, how did I survive Tekken 6 without it - Kazuya and Devil Jin are really trashy without it). Being able to wavedash into it is something I didn't get the hang of until 8, though (mostly since my ability to wavedash as a whole seems to have finally come together with this game, although I was starting to find my groove with it in the end stages of 7).
Good questions. I think Asuka's f+2 (-18) is a good one. The Mishima's 1,1,2 (-17)... King's Atla's d+1+2 also very punishable and with pushback and Ling's backturned 4 (-18)
Wait, but if you set practice mode to "Defense" and make them do unsafe moves, you will land a WGF regardless of whether you actually did punish in time because they don't block in this mode. What you need is the dedicated punishment training thing where you can be certain that you landed a correct punish
You can check if the "Punish" icon in the Attack Data popup lights up. Also, you can record the bot to walk back right after the attack, this way it will block if your punish is too late.
I am doing practice a lot and have no problem to do even PEWGF, I do it more often than usual electric but have problems to do it in 13 frames. With 1 frame difference between f and df2. In 90% of ocasions I do it with 2 frame interval

I can do it easily in practice but I feel like I never get openings to use it in actual matches unless I try to fish for it (which causes me to lose more fishing for it) . And I'm probably not launching stuff I should be launching (which is primarily my problem and how I WANT to be utilizing the EWGF) Maybe I'll stick to basic launches like DF2 into an EWGF instead of trying to hit (2) EWGF in a row.
Yes, that's called the PEWGF input. However, this one can't be done right after dashing, so it limits its uses. Still a good idea to get used to the normal input, imo.

I've only been playing since the T8 release on Rain, but I'm new to the series and have only been playing seriously since that part.
Ignoring that I still can't do the initial input on demand, much less to punish anything, the fact I can't do something as simple as hitting the direction and the button at the same time drives me crazy. There's no trick, shortcut, drill or anything for that, you can either do it or you can't.🤬
Break the input down slowly the idea is input df and 2 at the same time display your command history then slowly do it faster. Or . . . Change character jk. You can do it
It takes some time to finding the mind trick to get the timing down. A lot of people like to think they are pressing the punch button slightly before the diagonal, and that can help people time it better. Just keep at it and you may find a trick that works for you.
Bind the 2 input to right bumper, this way you're doing the input all with one hand. It is MUCH EASIER to do this way. I went from not being able to do it at all to 90% perfect all the time.

The input cannot be buffered, so you must wait to fully recover from blocking or another attack's animation before doing it. Maybe that's what causing you to get a df2. The forward part is getting eaten up.
Other than EWGF practice and wave dash (which I don't find very important for Reina), there isn't much you need practice for. But I'm thinking about uploading some videos about specific moves in the near future, talking about their applications. I think this is very important for Reina to broaden their arsenal. And I could expand this to other Mishimas as I learn more about them.
Step two should help with that, but you could also set the bot to block on first action, and Punish on second, then record a move you want to sidestep and punish. The bot will attack whenever they block one of your attacks, so you can sidestep afterwards.
Aint kidding with that hand pain. Practiced electrics with hei in t7 for 2 months on pad. I can now do them consistently in t8 but my thumbs be hurting. I got a leverless, but can donelectrics on there at all.
@Shazasterforever1 I've been doing it the regular way. I know there is a two handed method which I can do easy, do I don't know how practical it really is and it only works on p1 side.
Don't know if that's your case, but after a few wavus I start to lose precisions (especially on 2p side) so a good drill is to try to do it after 2 crouch dashes, then 3... and add more
Too eez learning know at first you can look at lightning at legs the time they exist us actually time when you need to press attack button, and it's not actually df and should be pressed with same time it's more like d+2 and then f.
I get training whiff punish ewgf but is it even realistic to train to punish on block with ewgf? Is there an error in my calculation? Training on block seems kind of wasting your time. pewgf is 13f if you are a robot and lets say you want to punish a 1,1,2 of kazuya which is -17 on block. If you do a 13f pewgf, you got 4 frames leeway to perfectly input pewgf after the block, which you cant buffer. Even if you frame perfectly input it without any delay after the block, you get a leeway of 4 frames to input ewgf. If we go for a 15f on block, you just have 2f of leeway for pewgf or 1f leeway for a ewgf. It isnt realistic to use ewgf for block punish if you can use df2 which you can buffer on block, unless you are a robot of course. My ewgf accuracy is around 95% but it doesnt benefit me for block punishes anyway if it gets blocked, while df2 would have safe launched.
For all those who start doing this and think that's enough, take this tip, it's just step 1 to do 7 consecutive out of 10 or so. The following stages are much, much tougher, such as Dash Electric and DEEP Dash Electric in order to reach the maximum potential of the character(or mishima especially) add this to a movement and eventually electrics and i call them on demand... that's what makes her Very Very hard to PLAY. BTW cool guide
I never used this method when I played on pad, so I don't know. On arcade stick it's unnecessary, but I've heard it's a good trick to get the timing down on dualsense.

Wavedashing into electrics is hard for me but im practicing xD is there any drills that you can share about wavu into electric?
Don't know if that's your case, but after a few wavus I start to lose precisions (especially on 2p side) so a good drill is to try to do it after 2 crouch dashes, then 3... and add more
Back in tag 2 I used to do 1 wavu and get 10 consistently, then 2 wavu, then 3, etc.
@@justApplay yea wavu precision is also my big problem when it comes to longer wavu into electric. Thanks for the advice ill lab that
Too eez learning know at first you can look at lightning at legs the time they exist us actually time when you need to press attack button, and it's not actually df and should be pressed with same time it's more like d+2 and then f.
I'm actually here for EWHF
What’s the move at 0:53 ?
f,n,3
@@justApplaythanks vro
too hard on dpad I will just use reine without electrics
Nah bro, just spend one night in the training mode
Bro my ps5 dpad does NOT let me do electrics💀
wait is reina a mishima? because i thought only mishimas have electricity effects
Yes
ohhh so that's why my electric isn't electric-ing, i must press df at the same time with 2 OH SILLY ME
I can do it offline anytime in ghost battle but I can't do it online and idk what I'm doing differently
Depending on the ping, the game adds some delay frames. There's also the pressure of the real match.
@justApplay yea I'll keep it up and focus on reps
Ive been training electrics for a year and barely see improvement
Buy a fkn Hitbox same happen to me got fed up it's fkn disaster mind gets fked up if you try to practice
So what does the star there mean?
It just means neutral input (not pressing any directional for a bit)
@@justApplay it means leaving a gap of 1 second?
What's your opinion on L1 2 Electric?
I never used this method when I played on pad, so I don't know.
On arcade stick it's unnecessary, but I've heard it's a good trick to get the timing down on dualsense.
@@justApplay thanks, appreciate the response
How to Sorya. 😅
What controller do you use
Arcade stick with korean lever
@@justApplay thanks, im just wondering if you can give me a link?
@@ianjaydelosangeles3173 A link to see the controller I use? it's an old Hori Rap 4, and the korean lever is a Crown 309 MJ Crazydongpal.
I think with that info is easier to find. I don't recommend the Hori Rap 4 if you can afford a better stick. It's very small and hard to mod. Razer Panthera is good.
can u teach me how to wavedash with keyboard?
Unfortunately I never played on keyboard, so I don't have any tips to share.
ok but how exactly do you get df+2 without the df df+2 consistently?
Practice
It's a matter of going into practice mode to find the right rythm for the button presses.
is it basically a dp input?
Yes, the crouch dash motion is basically a DP
@@justApplay ah i see, thanks for the answer, i didnt really know since i dont play tekken but saw the notation for it
It’s so dumb how Mishima players have to be so accurate with execution while other characters have similar value but with easier inputs
Fuck generic df2’s
This is simply not true. No other singular move has all the properties and reward of EWGF.
@@SpawnPirate you are right but the effort put into an electric is too much and not justified enough
@@SpawnPirate Right. No other high launcher is plus on block, no plus on block highs launch on normal hit, etc
@@HeartfeltBless That’s just moving the goalpost after admitting you’re wrong…plus plenty of characters have just frame moves
my rate its about to 30 to 40%, I cant do 2 consecutives
As long as you are getting wind god fist and not df2 or another attack by accident, that's great. Consistency will improve over time. Just gotta get it clean first.
The best way I learned was to hit the 2 before the df. Like, plink the 2 into the df.
is doing this input on ps4 controller hard or am i disabled
Friends of mine who use ps4/ps5 controllers got a harder time to do electrics. So you're not that much disabled 🙂↕️
ill take not that much ty@@keke7799
1:27 me who can ewgf punish -14 with devil jin
I've been training this shit for over a year now, I'm almost giving up on this disgrace.
fck this ewgf my left hand felt like rip off but thanks for the tutorial😁
Couldn't had done jf electrics in 7 but after using left bumper as 2+4 in 8 . I get the electrics 7 out of 10 times now
Wavu is much easier to ..
Just need to practise for a few weeks until she is ready .. using azucena until then .. steve main here btw..lol
Why the hell I'm watching this, I play King lol
I still get down 2 a lot instead lol
Oh damn reina is so hard! Wait... just use df2 lol
She didnt sugarcoat it
