The caliber of talent, and integrity, in that room will never be seen again. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching this.

Enjoyed every minute of this roast. A glimpse into the fun side of relationships and friendships developed over the years of performing and living to entertain us all.

If they ever had had an encounter with The One whose robes fill the whole temple . . .

As one who has followed J.D. Sumner with the Blackwoods since 1961 on, I have tried to "defend" misguided antics of Southern Gospel groups over the years. It is unfortunate that they started off with a "Baptist" pastor using prayer as a "joke" here. Of ALL the crazy things I've seen and heard particularly in Evangelical Christianity over the years, I have NEVER heard ANYONE use prayer in this way. A liberal or backslidden pastor would have no problem doing this. I have seen the rest of this Roast and there are several other things that border on off color humor which I found disgusting. What a shame!!

This isn't meant to be a Spirit-filled event nor a sermon, it's a clean roast to a gospel singer. Just because a gospel singer is involved doesn't automatically make it a godly event.

Apparently, you do not seem to understand that this is a ROAST. In fact, it's even defined in this video starting at 6:07. I think God knew that it was intended as a joke. To be sure, God is Holy, yet He is love. But I also think God has a sense of humor. I mean, do we not all, at some time or other, say or do things that crack others up? And, have you not heard humor used from the pulpit to help illustrate a spiritual point?

I was wondering the same thing myself. I LOVE the humor that comes naturally from southern Gospel musicians. But when the mc himself says "May God help us!" To continue the program, it seems that we've entered an area in which we dont belong. Gods people affirm one another, they shouldn't roast each other. I.e. I went to a beautiful, strong Church in 1979-80. The men of the church started teasing each other from the pulpit. In a short period of time there was a clash of ideas and that beautiful church blew apart at the seams.

Unfortunately you haven't got a sense of humor , so don't cast the first stone or spit when the wind is blowing in your face .
