    10 years ago when I was in my late twenties I did a lot of yoga and also attended a teachers' training course. Looking back, those were the time i was the leanest ( coupled with vegetarian diet) . No bulky muscle whatsoever . I didnt do as much yoga into my 30s. Now in my late 30s ,I have gained weight ( poor diet and lack of exercise). And now all I want is to get back on yoga again. Yoga somehow works really well for my body, keeps me lean and strong but without making me feel hungry like cardio would. Infact when I do practise yoga, it naturally manages my sugar and other food cravings.

    I gained A LOT of muscle from daily yoga for quite a few years, but then something went wrong and I hurt my back in 2/2020 and had to quit. :-( I then broke my right foot and damaged my ankle in 1/2021. I'm doing a lot better now and should go back to my specific bone density building routine.

      Ideally not. Best is to let body rest during this period . If u really want to,do not do inversion and backbend postures. I'm a yoga trained teacher.

      I have personally never stopped going to a sport/ or other form of physical training because of my period - whether that be running, badminton, weightlifting or yoga..... I mean, also depends on your cramps... personally I don't really feel that much worse on my period.... and you can also just take things a bit easier at the worst of days ofcourse - no need to push too hard - if u feel the worst

      How bad was your posture before doing yoga? I've heard it can make you 1 - 2 inches taller because you fix your poor posture

      @ericdominguez1483 I know I am the exact same height as I was before, but yes, I would say my posture has improved, but mostly from being more mindful of it.
